Main Engine Turbocharger Cut-Out System 실선 적용 사례 (Application of Main Engine Turbocharger Cut-Out System Onboard a Vessel)

  • As the increase of the fuel oil price, the demand for saving of the ship running cost is growing. To meet the needs of the shipowners, the method for low load operation has been developed by engine licenser. As one of low load operation, the turbocharger cut-out system can be utilized flexibly both full and part load operation. It can be possible to optimize fuel consumption at both full and part load operation. Tests by engine licenser with 12K98MC engine have proven that the fuel oil consumption can be reduced approximately 5%. In this paper we will study the application of main engine turbocharger cut-out system onboard a vessel. One of four turbochargers with MAN Diesel & Turbo 12K98MC-C and 12K98ME-C engine is cut out with swing gate valve. The fuel oil consumption is measured during sea trial and engine shop test.

  • For a model system consisted of four pneumatic cylinders with strokes of 10, 20, 40 and 80 mm, investigation was carried out experimentally and numerically about the reliability of system with elastic and viscous load. The elastic load affects the performance of each cylinder in cylinder series, and changes the time lag and the velocity of the piston which makes the positioning control rather difficult. Taking the effects of the elastic load into consideration, positioning can be carried out comparatively smoothly by only adjusting the driving timing. The effect of a viscous load reduces the vibration of each moving body in the cylinder series and also reduces the over-travelled distance which happens when several cylinders move at the same time. For reasons, a positioning with a viscous load can be relatively smoothly carried out even without the timing control.

  • Pneumatic cylinder is widely used for mechanical handling systems. Often, the impact occurs at the both ends points of pneumatic cylinder and generates destructive shock with in the structural operating members of the machine or equipment. To reduce the damage of system, therefore, shock absorbing devices are required. Cushioning of pneumatic cylinders at one or both ends of piston stroke is used to reduce the shock and vibration. The cylinder body have to withstand under high velocity and load. In this research, the pneumatic cushioning cylinder moving tests have been conducted for different load mass and supply pressure. The velocity of pneumatic cylinder actuation system with multiple orifice cushion sleeve which is set vertically controled with meter-in/out system. This study examines the dynamic characteristics of pneumatic cylinder with cushion devices. It turns out that the cushion pressure is mainly a function of the external load rather than the supply pressure. The cushion region characteristics was also revealed in the meter-in system.

  • The doubler plate design system for the reinforcement of the ship plate members was developed considering various loads that subjected to the in-plane biaxial load, the in-plane shear load and out-of-plane load. The author summarized the accuracy of the development formula and equations through the equivalent plate thickness concept and finally introduced the new design system of doubler plate reinforcement. Through this study, it can be considered as an initial design guideline based on ship doubler plate reinforcement strength at areas without repeated load, or an initial structure analysis model for final structural design.

선박 육상건조를 위한 로드-아웃 시스템의 보기 배치 사례 연구 (Case Study on the Bogie Arrangement of the Load-out System for On-ground Shipbuilding)

  • 본 연구는 선박 육상건조를 위한 로드-아웃 시스템(Load-out System)의 보기(Bogie;대차) 배치 방법과 그 적용사례에 대한 표준을 제시하였다. 로드-아웃 시스템은 도크 설비 없이 육상에서 선박을 건조하는 가장 중요한 시스템 중 하나로, 본 시스템은 보기, 모터부착 보기, 트레슬, 파워팩의 4가지 장비로 구성되어 있다. 또한, 선박의 구조적 안전을 위해 트레슬의 반력을 계산하고 적절한 보기의 대수를 결정하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구의 목적은 최소한의 비용으로 구조적 안전요건을 만족하는 보기 배치를 수행할 수 있는 최적의 시스템 설계방법을 제안하고 과도한 보기 배치에 따른 기업의 손실을 줄이는 데 그 목적이 있다. 제안된 방법은 육상건조 단계에서 조선사들의 생산 경쟁력 향상은 물론 실효성 있는 작업절차 구현에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 또한, 로드-아웃 과정에서 선체 바닥에서 발생할 수 있는 선체변형에 대한 위험을 최소화하기 위하여 114K 원유 탱커(최소 보기 수 54대)와 174K CBM LNG 운반선(최소 보기 수 88대)에 보기 배치 방법을 적용하여 육상건조 선박의 보기의 수와 임계 위험(안전율 1.61)을 최소화할 수 있도록 하였으며, 본 연구를 통해 독자는 향후 성공적인 육상건조와 이에 따른 경제적인 선박건조를 수행할 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.

  • Load capacity varies according to a day of the week in traction power supply system, because time schedule in railway is changed as demand for passengers and freights. Therefore, Voltage drop also varies as load capacity. In Korea railway, Voltage collected from catenary in train is decreased, as load supplied traction power supply system is increased. Therefore, investigation about voltage drop should be performed, before development of countermeasure against voltage drop. The investigation can be performed by simulation or field test. Naturally, field test is more precise than simulation. In addition, field test should be carried out at peak load. This paper presents test and analysis about voltage drop in railway. The test is performed in both a day of the week and weekend. The analysis is figured out comparison load capacity between two days and voltage drop across terminal.

  • Increasement of power demand rapid industrial growth has led the expansion of power system, and it caused construction of large power transmission line(like 765kV T/L) and substation. If there are T/L faults (route contingency etc), it lead to the large scale black out in SEOUL AREA (the center of load). To minimize damage which caused by the large scale black out, KEPCO selects the method of load shadding. In this work, instead of general method of load shadding, We study the application of UVLS model to decrease the load shadding in SEOUL AREA. The study result of using the UVLS model showed that the amont of load shadding can be decreased about 400 MW compare to the existing load shadding system.

항공기용 서스펜션 장비의 천이구조하중해석에 대한 연구 (Study on Transient Structural Load Analysis of Aircraft Suspension Equipment)

  • In this study, a transient structural load analysis system was constructed to calculate the applied load on the suspension equipment corresponding to the aircraft flight conditions based on military specifications. Aircraft flight data (altitude, velocity, acceleration, angle of attack and etc. at aircraft center of gravity) were used as input parameters and the calculated load of the suspension equipment at wings on the left and right side was printed out for the structural load analysis. As a calculation procedure, first of all, load analysis was carried out at the center of gravity of the external store, Secondly, a trial reaction force analysis was conducted on hook and swaybrace of suspension equipment. All procedure of calculations was programed to analyze the structural load automatically. To verify the numerical results, structural load analysis using the experimental flight data was performed.

  • When load areas on a feeder are deenergized due to faults and scheduled outage, operators need to identify neighboring feeders, try to restore customers and minimize out-of-service areas. These cases include knowledge of system states and various constraints such as voltage drop. This paper concerns the load transfer in fault restoration and scheduled outage. Also, the operating constraints such as line current capacity, relay trip current, transformer capacity, voltage drop and line loss are considered. This expert system can propose the optimal load transfer method by analyzing the system state and considering the constraints.
