An ultra-thin reflective flexible LCD film has been demonstrated. The 30% thickness of the display can be reduced by applying a quarter-wave-plate film as upper substrate. A low temperature alignment material and special designed photo spacer were applied in this new display. The bending behavior was improved by reduced thickness.

This paper describes a development of a fiber optic common-path optical coherence tomography (OCT) based imaging and guided system that possess ability to reliably identify optically transparent targets that are on the micron scale; ability to maintain a precise and safe position from the target; ability to provide spectroscopic imaging; ability to imaging biological target in 3-D. The system is based on a high resolution fiber optic Common-Path OCT (CP-OCT) that can be integrated into various mini-probes and tools. The system is capable of obtaining >70K A-scan per second with a resolution better than $3\;{\mu}m$. We have demonstrated that the system is capable of one-dimensional real-time depth tracking, tool motion limiting and motion compensation, oxygen-saturation level imaging, and high resolution 3-D images for various biomedical applications.

Stars form in dense core within the molecular clouds. The prestellar cores provide information of the physical characteristics at the very early stages of star formation. The low dust temperature (<14K) of Planck cold clumps/cores (PGCCs) make them likely to be prestellar objects or at the very initial stage of protostellar collapse. We have been conducting the legacy surveys of Planck cold clumps with the JCMT, the TRAO 14-m and many other telescopes. We aim to study of the initial conditions of star formation and chemical evolutions of the cores in the different environments. From JCMT SCUBA-2 $850{\mu}m$ survey (SCOPE), we have already identified hundreds of dense cores, which may be at the earliest phase of star formation. Therefore in order to explore the chemical evolution of these dense cores, we used KVN telescopes in order to observe 75 well selected SCUBA-2 cores in many molecules as the follow-up project of KVN Pilot Observation of SCUBA-2. These observations will help advance our understanding of the propoerties of these SCUBA-2 cores in PGCCs.

In this paper, we have studied manufacturing process for liquid crystal displays (LCDs) using plastic substrates. Because the thermal and dimensional stabilities of plastic substrates are decisive issues, both the process and materials were improved to fit the manufacturing requirements of flexible twisted-nematic (TN) and color super-twisted nematic (CSTN) LCDs. Finally, to broaden the flexible display applications, we take advantage of the unique properties of flexible display to design several innovative products.

Objective: Microarray data were analyzed to explore key genes and their functions in progression of colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods: Two microarray data sets were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified using corresponding packages of R. Functional enrichment analysis was performed with DAVID tools to uncover their biological functions. Results: 631 and 590 DEGs were obtained from the two data sets, respectively. A total of 32 common DEGs were then screened out with the rank product method. The significantly enriched GO terms included inflammatory response, response to wounding and response to drugs. Two interleukin-related domains were revealed in the domain analysis. KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that the PPAR signaling pathway and the renin-angiotensin system were enriched in the DEGs. Conclusions: Our study to systemically characterize gene expression changes in CRC with microarray technology revealed changes in a range of key genes, pathways and function modules. Their utility in diagnosis and treatment now require exploration.

이 논문의 목적은 임진정계(1712) 경계표지물에 대한 역대 실지조사기록을 검토하여, 1712~1713년에 만들어진 경계표지물의 분포를 복원하는 것이다. 허량 박도상(1713), 김우식(1883), 이중하(1885), 오록정(1907), 오소네 세이지(1907), 유건봉(1908), 일제지형도(1933), 청진교원대학 백두산탐사대(1948), 길림성 장백산 여행단(1957)의 실지조사기록을 검토하였다. 이를 통하여, 1713년 최종 완성된 임진정계 경계표지물의 분포를 도표와 지도로 제시하였다.

In this paper common fixed point theorems dealing with compatible mappings of type (P) are established. As a application, the existence and uniqueness of common solution for a system of functional equations arising in dynamic programming is given. The results presented in this paper improve, generalize and unify the corresponding results in this field.

In this paper, a new class of general strongly nonlinear variational-like inequalities was introduced and studied. The existence and uniqueness of solutions and a new iterative algorithm for the general strongly nonlinear variational-like inequality are established and suggested, respectively. The convergence criteria of the iterative sequence generated by the iterative algorithm are also given.
