ON CERTAIN MULTIPLES OF LITTLEWOOD AND NEWMAN POLYNOMIALS

  • Polynomials with all the coefficients in {0, 1} and constant term 1 are called Newman polynomials, whereas polynomials with all the coefficients in {-1, 1} are called Littlewood polynomials. By exploiting an algorithm developed earlier, we determine the set of Littlewood polynomials of degree at most 12 which divide Newman polynomials. Moreover, we show that every Newman quadrinomial $X^a+X^b+X^c+1$, 15 > a > b > c > 0, has a Littlewood multiple of smallest possible degree which can be as large as 32765.

UNIMODULAR ROOTS OF RECIPROCAL LITTLEWOOD POLYNOMIALS

  • The main result of this paper shows that every reciprocal Littlewood polynomial, one with {-1, 1} coefficients, of odd degree at least 7 has at least five unimodular roots, and every reciprocal Little-wood polynomial of even degree at least 14 has at least four unimodular roots, thus improving the result of Mukunda. We also give a sketch of alternative proof of the well-known theorem characterizing Pisot numbers whose minimal polynomials are in $$A_N=\{[{X^d+ \sum\limits^{d-1}_{k=0} a_k\;X^k{\in} \mathbb{Z}[X]\;:\;a_k={\pm}N,\;0{\leqslant}k{\leqslant}d-1}\}$$ for positive integer $N{\geqslant}2$.

A NOTE ON GENERALIZED PARAMETRIC MARCINKIEWICZ INTEGRALS

  • In the present paper, we establish certain $L^p$ bounds for the generalized parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators associated to surfaces generated by polynomial compound mappings with rough kernels in Grafakos-Stefanov class ${\mathcal{F}}_{\beta}(S^{n-1})$. Our main results improve and generalize a result given by Al-Qassem, Cheng and Pan in 2012. As applications, the corresponding results for the generalized parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators related to the Littlewood-Paley $g^*_{\lambda}$-functions and area integrals are also presented.

  • This paper is devoted to establishing certain Lp bounds for the generalized parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators associated to surfaces generated by polynomial compound mappings with rough kernels given by h ∈ ∆γ(ℝ+) and Ω ∈ Wℱβ(Sn-1) for some γ, β ∈ (1, ∞]. As applications, the corresponding results for the generalized parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators related to the Littlewood-Paley g*λ functions and area integrals are also presented.

  • We obtain the following two inequalities on a strongly pseudoconvex domain $\Omega\;in\;\mathbb{C}^n\;:\;for\;f\;{\in}\;O(\Omega)$ $$\int_{0}^{{\delta}0}t^{a{\mid}a{\mid}+b}M_p^a(t, D^{a}f)dt\lesssim\int_{0}^{{\delta}0}t^{b}M_p^a(t,\;f)dt\;\int_{O}^{{\delta}O}t_{b}M_p^a(t,\;f)dt\lesssim\sum_{j=0}^{m}\int_{O}^{{\delta}O}t^{am+b}M_{p}^{a}\(t,\;\aleph^{i}f\)dt$$. In [9], Shi proved these results for the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. These are generalizations of some classical results of Hardy and Littlewood.
