  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to suggest a direction for the development of effective methods for relieving labor pain, by analyzing non-pharmacological interventions through a literature review. Methods: Collection of literature data in this study has been accomplished through theses, reports, and academic data searched on databases of the Research Information Sharing Services (Riss), PubMed, ProQuest, and the National Discovery for Science Leaders (NDSL). Results: Non-pharmacological interventions analyzed as effective in relieving labor pain, in literature published both within and outside of Korea, included: pre-delivery education, Yoga, Doula delivery care, Massage, Music therapy, Aromatherapy, Hypnosis, TENS, Sterilized water injection, and Acupuncture. Conclusion: Several different interventions have been attempted for the relief of labor pain. Since even the same intervention shows different results depending on the research method utilized, critical factors must be acknowledged that compromise the effectiveness of these methods. In addition, study of potential synergy effects of interventions that combine these various methods might also prove to be significant.

  • This paper presents the recent research developments identified through a review of literature on the application of artificial intelligence in developing automated designs of fire protection facilities. The literature review covered research related to image recognition and applicable neural networks. Firstly, it was found that convolutional neural network (CNN) may be applied to the development of automating the design of fire protection facilities. It requires a high level of object detection accuracy necessitating the classification of each object making up the image. Secondly, to ensure accurate object detection and building information, the data need to be pulled from architectural drawings. Thirdly, by applying image recognition and classification, this can be done by extracting wall and surface information using dimension lines and pixels. All combined, the current review of literature strongly indicates that it is possible to develop automated designs for fire protection utilizing artificial intelligence.

  • This study compares the history of modern Korean literature written in China with the history of South Korean literature, the history of North Korean literature and the history of national literature, explores aspects of narrative and therefore examines transcultural practice presented in such texts. There have hitherto been approximately 25 works on the history of Korean literature written in China, and 16 of 25 works are on the history of modern Korean literature. Regarding their purpose, the number of pedagogical works outstandingly exceeds the number of research works. In terms of perspective and contents, it can be divided into three categories; one that only embraces the history of South Korean literature, another embracing the history of North Korean literature only and the other embracing the history of South Korean and North Korean literature. This study has selected representative texts from each category and compared recognition and narrative aspects to that of the history of South Korean literature, the history of North Korean literature and the history of Chinese literature. It further examines loci of definitions' transfer and formation as well. As a result, this study reveals valuable understanding of recognition and narration of the history of Korean literature. First, this study offers an introspective attitude, as the history of modern Korean literature accentuates influence of only Western literature, overlooking influence of Chinese literature. Second, this study proposes a new narrative perspective on the history of Unified Korean literature through independent and objective identification of the history of North Korean literature. Last, it emphasizes popularization of literature - aside from pure literary-centrism - and expands possibilities of embracing distinct works relevant to multimedia.

  • Smart tourism technologies are becoming ever more pervasive and an increasing number of destinations and hospitality establishments are investing in smart tourism initiatives. However, while governments and businesses around the world are aggressively pushing the smart tourism agenda forward, smart tourism research initiatives are still in their infancy and seem to not fully cover the whole spectrum of smart tourism-related issues and questions. This paper conducts a systematic review of existing smart tourism literature to determine the status quo of smart tourism research and to identify research gaps. Considering the steep growth of smart tourism initiatives starting at the beginning of this decade, this paper reviews publications on smart tourism over the last 8 years. All publications for which the keyword "smart tourism" appears in the title, keywords or abstract were included in the sample.

  • This study examines the scientific publications on website evaluation in hospitality and tourism from 2010 to 2023 through a systematic review and discusses implications for future research. The reviewed literature from publication years, journals, research methods, website-related stakeholders, context, various forms of Internet presence (Internet forms), and theories are analyzed to create a comprehensive website evaluation dimension. Furthermore, a conceptual framework is developed to show the relationship between the website characteristics, stakeholders-channels interaction, and stakeholders' reactions. The proposed website evaluation framework in hospitality and tourism synthesizes the existing knowledge, identifies gaps, and further advances our understanding of this research area.

  • The objective of this research is to develop & operate classical literature reading education program for youth, to verify the difference in effect with respect to the influence of classical literature reading education on youth's character and competency development and to clarify the difference in effect depending on intention to participate in classical literature reading education and instruction method. Main result of research is summarized as follows. First, after classical literature reading education was found to be effective to the character and the youth's competency development increased. Second, verifying the effect of classical literature reading education on intention to participate voluntarily, it was found to be more effective for group of voluntary participation than group of involuntary participation. Third, verifying the effect of classical literature reading education depending on instruction method, it was found to be more effective for group of discussion lesson based on character key words than group of lesson based on recital.

Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used for the analysis of this study. The findings of this research were three point. At First, the model of web-based children's literature education have five major components i.e., objects, construction of activity, display of activity, management of it, and evaluation of it. At second, the creative writing was revealed the core of the web-based children's education. The third, web-based children's literature activity can be followed by cyber learning community activities.

  • This paper discusses the independent seminar as one of the appropriate courses, in particular, for the students who study English literature in the doctoral program. Those who take the Ph.D. program in English literature are considered as future scholars or teachers. In taking the coursework, they not only delve into the knowledge of literature, but also begin to establish broader and deeper senses of research ability. The independent seminar class helps them build such senses through the way in which they experience to the development of the syllabus by themselves. Furthermore, in contrast to a regular class, in which a group of students learn in a classroom, the independent seminar gives each student intensive interactions with his/her professor through the out-of-classroom circumstances, since the seminar is based upon one-on-one study between the student and the professor.

  • The need for integrating the arts and literature into the engineering education has been emphasized to cultivate the creative talent in recent years. However, there have been few studies to investigate how the arts and literature can be linked with nurturing creative talent in the engineering fields. In this paper, it is examined that inventive thinking principles for creative ideation in the engineering fields can be applied to the arts and literature. For the purpose, creative works in the arts and literature, which can be explained by the five thinking tools of SIT(Systematic Inventive Thinking), are collected. The result shows that engineering and the arts share common thinking patterns.

  • The objective of this paper is to present how to use Grounded Theory Methodology for conducting a literature review that produces new insights and conceptualizations. In this paper, we have employed Wolfswinkel et al.(2013)'s method, which is called by Grounded Theory Literature-Review Method, for a rigorous literature review. We have utilized this method to capture the concept and insights of individuals' shadow wok in digital environments. By analyzing the relevant literature based on Wolfswinkel et al.'s guide, we have extracted 73 codes in the coding steps and finally showed 12 categories by incorporating similar concepts from those codes. Based on the categories, we end this paper by developing the academic definitions of shadow work in digital environments.
