The research results proved the effects of digital literacy and self-regulation on the learning outcomes and mediating role of self-regulation between digital literacy and learning outcomes. These results help to design and implement effective lessons when using a digital textbook in Middle school English.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the plans of educationally using animation literacy on the basis of a media literacy approach. For this study, animation literacy class as a liberal arts was conducted, which students studying animation at university attended. In order to explore the plans of using animation literacy, students' perception of using animation literacy was examined after completing animation literacy class. Also, in-depth interview with experts participating in animation literacy class was performed. Results showed that all students taking animation literacy class acknowledged the educational value of animation literacy and could think over cultural and social implications of animation through class. Also, they could have various perspectives as an acceptor and analytical mind-set as a creator. Findings from in-depth interview with specialists indicated that education on animation literacy was indispensably necessary, and systemicity and objective criteria needed to be established. On top of that, experts proposed the way that through expansion of topics, and diverse animation works, students voluntarily and actively could participate in class. In addition, it suggests that because of participants in this study who were students majoring in animation, class to foster a perspective and ability as not only a viewer and an acceptor but also a producer and a creator should be added. It is expected that this study will be used as fundamental data for education on animation literacy, and future studies on education of animation literacy will be continuously conducted.

The purpose of this study was to present a method of literacy education that would generate interest and enhance the effectiveness of literacy education from elderly literacy learners. For that end, the researcher interviewed and did participation observation with a total of 11 middle and old aged literacy teachers, operators, lifelong education teachers, and literacy students in North Chungcheong Province. According to the research, elderly literacy learners have a tendency to forget easily what they have learned and to learn properly through dictation, and have high level of competitive spirit, to make studying the top priority in their daily lives. Many playful activities for knowing meaning of writing, learning connected to real life, and dictating are effective in improving their memory and cognition. In addition, using familiar materials in everyday life, conducting role plays with comedies and poems in textbooks, utilizing large-picture fairytales, team-based games and activities, learning songs and instruments to play easily, performances and presentations on the stage, and field experiences in educational and cultural facilities can increase their interest and effectiveness in literacy. Several programmes such as presentations and joint events for sharing results, materials and materials costs, education and sharing of literacy skills for teachers at the school, annual operation of literacy education need to be supported to succeed literacy education in elderly learners. In conclusion, the research shows the need to increase literacy teachers' education, to use assistant teachers, to activate accreditation of literacy curriculum.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences of elementary and middle school students' ICT literacy by their computer use and information(computer) educational experiences. For this purpose, this study implemented ICT literacy test for students in 300 elementary (4th~6th)- and 300 middle(7th~9th) schools in 2015. The ICT literacy test was composed of two components of 'literacy ability elements' and 'literacy content elements.' The main results of this study are as follows. First, in both of elementary and middle schools, there are positive relationships between students' 'computer use at home' and 'computer outside school,' and their ICT literacy test scores, but their extreme computer use affected their ICT literacy test scores negatively. Second, in both of elementary and middle schools, there are positive relationships between students' information(computer) educational experiences and their ICT literacy test scores.
Objectives: This study was performed to identify the level of health literacy and to investigate the relationship between the health literacy and preventive health care use in middle-aged adults in Korea. Methods: A total of 315 adults aged 40 to 64 years living in Seoul participated in the study. Data were collected from December 15-24, 2010 from outpatient hospitals, clinics, workplaces and other locations in the community. Health literacy was measured using the Functional Health Literacy and Self-rated Health Literacy Questionnaires. Preventive health service use was defined as receiving screening (general health checkups, gastric and colorectal cancer, mammogram, and pap smear) and influenza vaccination. Descriptive analysis, t-test, and ANOVA were used. Results: The mean of functional health literacy was 3.87 (score range 0-6) and the self-rated health literacy was 60.08 (score range 16-80). The most difficult items of the self-rated questionnaires were patient educational materials provided by health care providers and medical forms. The most difficult items of functional health literacy were information-based, including nutritional facts and clinical schedules. Association between health literacy and preventive health service use was not found. Conclusions: Further study is necessary with larger samples and with considerations for their education level, age, and preventive health care use.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the levels of and the related factors to health literacy and health behavior compliance in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a convenience sample of 121 hospitalized patients with coronary artery disease. The structured questionnaires were used to measure the levels of health literacy and health behavior compliance. Results: The average linguistic health literacy score was $32.23{\pm}21.46$, the functional health literacy score was $6.51{\pm}5.08$, and the health behavior compliance score was $61.66{\pm}15.53$. The levels of education (${\beta}$=.35), income (${\beta}$=.27), and perceived health status (${\beta}$=.21) were found significant, explaining 41.8% of the variance in linguistic health literacy. The levels of education (${\beta}$=.23), income (${\beta}$=.27), age (${\beta}$=-.24), and family support (${\beta}$=.22) were found to be significant, explaining 50.9% of the variance in functional health literacy. The levels of education (${\beta}$=.27), family support (${\beta}$=.20), and linguistic health literacy (${\beta}$=.40) were found to be the significant factors, which explained 45.1% of the variance in health behavior compliance. Linguistic health literacy specifically explained 9.5% of health behavior compliance. Conclusion: Health literacy was associated with health behavior compliance, influencing the factors of health behavior compliance. These findings suggest that the interventions for improving health literacy are necessary to enhance health behavior compliance in patients with coronary artery disease.
This study is to identify different patterns of childhood's smart media literacy and to predict factors relating to smart media literacy behaviors. Also, the purpose of the present study is to examine parents' and teachers' mediation of childhood's smart media literacy. The data were collected from 400 elementary students in Korea and we presented two patterns of smart media literacy : perception literacy, critical literacy. The results showed positive relationships between perception literacy and parental active and passive mediation. And a teacher's active and passive mediation was positively associated with children's perception literacy. In addition, the results of this study showed that parental active and passive mediation also affected the critical literacy. It was found that there were significant differences in sociological characteristics like in gender, school year, spending time, a double income family on smart media literacy. This suggests that a parent's active and passive mediation may lead to activate children's smart media use.

The development of artificial intelligence technology and the shift to a software-driven society are raising the need for digital literacy education on how to access, understand, use, create and share new open content in a variety of sustainable open content. At this point in time, this paper defines the digital literacy as the subliteracy concept for data, tools, and device elements. It is defined as a concept that includes cognitive and non-cognitive abilities and is stratified by computer literacy, ICT literacy, and information literacy. Open content is also defined as teaching-learning materials that can be used and shared freely by anyone, such as the Open Education Resource (OER) and the Open Access movement. Based on the two definitions, a three-step strategy for digital literacy education was developed to select open content in the digital environment, followed by a digital literacy education plan, and finally, an education frame to foster digital literacy capabilities.
