A Study on the Optimum Driving Conditions of AC-PDP using the V-Q Lissajous‘ Figure (V-Q Lissajous' Figure을 이용한 AC-PDP 최적 구동 조건에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we used the V-Q Lissajous‘ figure for studying on the plasma discharge characteristics of the 42 inches AC-PDP. From the V-Q Lissajous‘ figure, we could observe exactly the driving conditions that the self-erasing discharge takes place. At the time, the total wall charges lessened by self-erasing discharge was calculated quantitatively. Beside of the just observation of self-erasing discharge and calculation of the charges lessened, we could find out the optimum driving conditions for inducing the maximum wall charges accumulated on the dielectric layer with measuring the Wall voltage from the V-Q Lissajous' figure.

  • To understand the discharge characteristics in AC-PDP, it is necessary to study on the wall charge behavior. But, it is difficult to measure the wall charge directly. In this paper, the V-Q Lissajous' figure is used to measure the wall charge indirectly and analyze the wall charge behavior. With the V-Q Lissajous' figure, the discharge characteristics of AC-PDP are studied according to vary driving conditions, such as the frequency, pulse duty ratio, and rising & falling time. As a result, the V-Q Lissajous' figure is used to measure the discharge characteristics of the AC-PDP. It is confirmed that firing initial voltage and firing final voltage for discharge are effected by the aboved variables. Related with the wall voltage generation, it is thought that the difference of the slope at the V-Q Lissajous' figure is caused by charged ions inside the dielectric layer.

  • In this paper, we apply V-Q Lissajoucs' figure for observation of a V-Q (Voltage-Charge) hysteresis loop at interface between phosphor and insulation layer in P-ELDz which are a simple structure and the back lighting of LCDs (Liquid Crystal Display). In V-Q Lissajous' figure, we measured a change of hysteresis loop according to the thickness of Insulation and phosphor layer. From experiment result, we will be obtained a optimum thickness of insulation with comparing the correlation of a V-L (Voltage-Luminance) and V-Q hysteresis loop.

An Efficient Method for the Mass Unbalance Analysis of a Rotor System Using FFT and Lissajous Diagram

  • Unbalance analysis is essential in the rotor system. However, some problems still remain in the aspects of computational efficiency and accuracy. In the present paper a new method is proposed for estimating the mass unbalance of a rotating shaft by using the vibration signals. This is an advanced new method for the detection of a mass unbalance and its phase position. Based on the signal processing with FFT, an estimator is designed to detect the mass of unbalance. And an improved Lissajous diagram is also introduced with statistical analysis, which make it possible to compute the phase position of the mass unbalance efficiently and arranged at a certain location of the shaft. The proposed method is demonstrated and validated through several test examples.

  • Electrooptic characteristics of Xe-type flat fluorescent lamps (FFL) have been investigated by using a Q-V Lissajous method. It was found that the luminance of the Mgo-coated FFL became more than doubled compared to normal FFLs operated at the same driving voltage, indicating the possibility of the efficacy improvement in the MgO-coated FFLs. Change in the driving condition, in particular, the duty ratio had effects on the electrooptic properties, and it was found that the duty ratio of 50% was the optimum condition from the viewpoints of the efficacy and the lamp voltage.

  • Diagnosis and repair tasks of an unbalanced rigid rotor reduce the chances of unexpected failure and the consequent losses in production, time, and money. This paper presents investigation of a balancing system for equilibration of rigid rotor unbalance. A practical vibration signal based method is developed for unbalance diagnosis using wavelet technology and a Lissajous diagram. This paper shows that a mass unbalance can be efficiently estimated through an appropriate narrow-band filter used to extract the required spectra component. The wavelet technology is used to design specified narrow filter bank. A modified Lissajous diagram is also introduced with statistical analysis to compute the phase position. Several experimental tests demonstrate the effectiveness in balancing the mass unbalance of a rigid rotor.

  • The characteristics of Xe discharge lamp(Mercuryless lamp) are described in this paper. In this paper, FFL is operated by sine wave and pulsed source. We apply V-Q Lissajous' figure for the discharge measurements of FFL which has the electrodes covered with dielectric. When FFL is operated by sine wave source, the characteristics are similar to DBD(Dielectric Barrier Discharge) and SD(Silent Discharge). And we compared the characteristics of FFL which is operated with sine wave and pulsed discharge by using V-Q Lissajous' figure method. When FFL is operated with pulsed, the discharge current flows after the applied voltage is risen. As the duty ratio increases the electric field becomes strong and much more xenon ions are produced. And the number of metastable xenon atoms seem to increase, therefore, the phosphor radiation after the cut off of voltage increases compared with the first peak of radiation. Consequently, the 172㎚ radiation becomes strong as the duty ratio increases.

  • 본 연구에서는 절삭공구가 채터진동을 일으킬때 AE(Acoustic Emission) 신호와 어떤관계가 있는지를 실험적으로 연구하였다. 모달분석을 통하여 절삭공구의 고유진동수 및 모우드형상을 구하였으며, 실제 절삭실험에서는 이송방향 및 절삭방향의 가속도를 계측하여 위상치를 결정하었다. AE신호와 두 가속도 와의 관계를 알기위하여 AE 실험을 하였다. AE신호의 폭발점은 대개 Lissajous loop의 방향전환점에서 관찰 되었다.

  • 이 논문은 무성방전을 이용하여 환경개선 분야로의 적용이 가능한 무성방전형 오존발생기를 설계, 제작후 고주파 전원장치의 전원주파수와 인가전압에 따른 방전특성 및 오존생성특성을 연구 검토하였으며, 오존발생기 내부에서 소비되는 방전전력을, 정확히 측정하고자 Lissajous 도형을 이용해 오존발생기의 방전부에서 소비전력을 계산하였다.

  • In this paper, a silent discharge type ozonizer has been designed and fabricated for environment improvement. After that discharge and ozone generation characteristics in accordance with frequency of power supply and input voltage were investigated Consumed discharge un of silent discharge type ozonizer was calculated by computer program designed in "Sigma Hot 2000" program. The data needed for calculation was stored as ASCII file type from oscilloscope.
