전자기 토모그래피를 이용한 액체 금속 속도장 측정 (Measurement of velocity Pronto in Liquid Metal Flow Using Electromagnetic Tomography)

  • In order to measure non-intrusively velocity profile in liquid metal flow, a modified electromagnetic flowmeter was designed, which was based on electromagnetic tomography technique. Under the assumption that flow is fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear, the velocity profile was reconstructed after the flowmeter equation, the first kind of Fredholm integration equation, was linearized. In reconstruction process Tikhonov regularization method with regularization parameter was used. The reconstructed velocity profile had the nearly same as turbulent flow profile which was approximately represented as log law. In addition, flowmeter output fur a fixed magnet rotation angle was linearly proportional to flow rate. When magnet rotation angle was 54$^{\circ}$, axisymmetric weight function was nearly uniform so that the flowmeter gives a constant signal for any fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear profile with a constant flow rate.

  • The atomization characteristics of an annular liquid (water) sheet of small radius with a core gas (air) flow were studied. Different sizes of annular gaps (0.2, 0.4 and 0.8 mm) were tested to find the effect of liquid sheet thickness on SMD. The inner diameter of the gas port for the core gas flow was 4 mm. Cross-section averaged SMD was measured for various liquid and gas velocities. Regions of the SMD decrease with the increase of the liquid velocity always existed regardless of the liquid sheet thickness. This attributes to the transition of the flow patterns of spray and also to the aerodynamic interaction between the atomizing gas and the ripples on the liquid sheet surface.

총설: 액체 중에서 상승하는 기포의 크기, 형상 및 속도 (A Review on Size, Shape and Velocity of a Bubble Rising in Liquid)

  • 본 총설에서는 액체층을 통과하는 기포의 크기, 형상, 상승속도를 결정하기 위한 이론들을 살펴보았다. 액체의 물리적 특성과 기포의 유량으로부터 기포의 크기, 형상, 상승속도를 체계적으로 계산하는 여러 가지 이론식 및 모수식들을 살펴보고, 각각의 장단점을 정리하였다. 이 분야에서 발표된 초기 저작들에서는 주로 반복계산을 통해 기포의 형상과 상승속도를 결정하는 기법들이 사용되었으나, 최근에 발표된 논문들에서는 간단한 모수식을 통해 기포의 형상과 상승속도를 반복계산 없이 쉽게 구하는 기법들이 제시되고 있다. 이러한 기법들은 매우 다양한 물리적 특성을 가지는 실험결과들과의 비교에서도 우수성을 보여주고 있어, 관련 분야의 연구에 매우 유용한 도구로 사용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

외부 순환 공기리프트 반응기의 동특성 (Dynamic Characteristics of External loop Air-Lift Reactor)

  • 외부 순환식 공기리프트 반응기에서 기상유속과 액상의 점도를 변수로 하여 기체체류량과 액체의 순환시간, 혼합시간, 순환속도 및 축방향분산계수를 측정하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 기체체류량은 기체유속이 증가함에 따라 증가 하였으며, 점도가 증가함에 따라서는 약간 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 또 기체유속이 증가함에 따라 상승관에서는 기체체류량의 증가율이 감소한 반면 하강관에서는 증가하였다. 2. 기체유속이 증가함에 따라 순환시간 및 혼합시간은 초기에 급격히 짧아지다가 거의 일정한 값을 나타내었으며, 액체의 점도가 증가함에 따라 순환기산과 혼합시간은 모두 증가하였다. 3. 순환 액체의 속도는 기체의 속도에 따라 초기에 급격히 증가하나 기체속도가 약 5cm/sec이상이 되면 그 증가율이 매우 둔화되었으며, 점도가 증가함에 따라 약간 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 압력수지식으로 예측한 이론값과 실험값은 낮은 기체유속 영역에서는 잘 일치하였으나 기체유속이 증가함에 따라 실험값이 이론값보다 작은 값을 나타내었다. 4. 기체유속이 증가함에 따라 Bodenstein number는 감소하였고, 축방향분산계수는 증가하였으며, 점도가 증가함에 따라 약간 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 본 실험범위에서 분산이 많이 일어나mixed folw에 근접함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Hydrodynamic behavior and response of vertical-cylindrical liquid-storage tank is considered. The equation of the liquid motion is shown by Laplace's differential equation with the fluid velocity potential. The solution of the Laplace's differential equation of the liquid motion is expressed with the modified Bessel functions. Only rigid tank is studied. The effective masses and heights for the tank contents are presented for engineering design model.

모사된 GTL공정의 점성액체 매체에서 wake의 특성 (Characteristics of Wakes in a Viscous Liquid Medium of a Simulated GTL Process)

  • 점성 액체를 사용한 모사된 GTL공정(직경 0.102 m ${\times}$ 높이 1.5 m)에서 기포에 의해 발생되는 wake의 특성을 고찰하였다. 기체의 유속(0.04 ~ 0.12 m/s)과 액상의 점도(0.001 ~ 0.050 $Pa{\cdot}s$)가 wake의 특성 즉 상승속도, 빈도수, 크기 그리고 체류량에 미치는 영향을 전기저항 탐침법에 의해 결정하였다. 상승하는 단일기포들뿐만 아니라 다중기포의 후면에 형성된 wake 상들도 탐침에 의해 측정된 전기 전도도 요동자료로부터 효과적으로 검침되었다. 유속이 조절되는 압축 여과공기와 CMC 수용액을 각각 분산기체상과 연속액상으로 사용하였다. 실험결과 wake 상의 상승속도와 크기는 기체의 유속 또는 액상의 점도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. wake 상의 체류량과 빈도수는 기체의 유속이 증가함에 따라 증가하였는데, 이는 기체유속의 증가에 따라 공정에 유입되는 기체의 양이 증가하기 때문이다. 그러나, 액상의 점도가 증가함에 따라 기포의 크기와 wake의 크기가 증가하기 때문에 wake의 상의 체류량과 빈도수 값은 wake 상의 액상의 점도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. Wake 상 체류량의 기체의 체류량에 대한 비율은 0.25~0.48의 범위였으며, 이 비율은 액체점도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나 기체의 유속이 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 본 연구의 실험범위에서 wake 상의 특성들은 운전변수의 상관식으로 잘 나타낼 수 있었다.

액체의 물성치와 노즐의 형상 변화에 따른 압력스월 노즐의 분무 특성 (Characteristics of Spray from Pressure-Swirl Nozzle with Different Liquid Properties and Nozzle Geometries)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant characteristics in atomization process of industrial etching spray fur the design or Precise pressure-swirl nozzles. The experiment was carried out with different viscosities and densities of the liquid. The macro characteristics of liquid spray, such as the spray angle and breakup process were captured by PMAS and the micro characteristics of liquid spray. such as droplet size and velocity measurements were obtained by PDA. The droplet axial and radial velocity and SMD were measured along axial and radial direction. The RMS of two velocities was measured along radial direction. It was found that the fluid with higher kinematic viscosity resulted in the larger SMD and the lower mean droplet velocity. And we could divide breakup processes into three regions that is atomization, non-dilution and dilution one in spray of pressure-swirl nozzle. The radial as well as axial velocity of droplet played an important role in the atomization process of higher kinematic viscosity fluid.

원통다관형 열교환기의 침식-부식 특성에 관한 연구 (I) (Study on the Characteristics of Erosion-Corrosion for Heat Exchanger of Shell and Tube Type(I))

  • In the case that erosion and corrosion occurs in machinery and structure at the same time, the synergy effect by erosion-corrosion affects fatal effect to durability of machinery and structure. Therefore, in machinery and structure which use corrosion liquid, the study of the synergy effect of erosion-corrosion which affects metal material is requested. In this paper. the flow corrosion experiment about the effect of temperature change and liquid velocity change in sea water was carried out to study the characteristics of erosion-corrosion for tube material Cu heat exchanger The main results obtained are as follows. (1) Damage appearance of tube outside by erosion-corrosion becomes dull because electrode potentials of Cu tube is higher than electrode potential of STPG38 shell. (2) In the cooling system by sea water, the weight loss rate of Cu at tube outside liquid temperature of $70^{\circ}C$ is higher than that of temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. (3) In cooling system by sea water, the weight loss rate of Cu at liquid velocity of 5.1m/s is higher than that of velocity of 1.47m/s. But as the testing time passed, the weight loss rate of Cu at velocity of 5.1m/s is almost steady and becomes dull at velocity of 1.47m/s.

저속 충돌 제트로 생성되는 액막의 두께 분포 특성 연구 (A Study of the Characteristics of Thickness Distribution of Liquid Sheet Formed by Two Low Speed Impinging Jets)

  • In this study, the thickness of the liquid sheet formed by two low speed impinging jets was measured by the direct contact method. The effects of jet velocity and liquid viscosity on the thickness were analyzed and the results were compared with theoretical modeling and optical thickness measurement results. The liquid film thickness decreased as the radius and circumferential angle increased. The jet velocity did not affect the liquid film thickness as predicted in theoretical modeling. In the theoretical modeling, there was no influence of the fluid properties on thickness, but in the case of low viscosity liquids, the thickness was predicted high, and it was well matched in high viscosity liquids. The direct measurement results showed no significant difference from the optical measurement results, thus confirming the reliability of the optical measurement method.
