  • Flexible circular cantilever beams when excited externally introduce a lot of dynamic characteristics. The non-linear elements that these flexible beams develop include non-linearity due to inertia terms, spring, and damping. They show different characteristics of motion from each other. In the modes of lower order, the non-linearity due to spring is prevalent, while the non-linearity due to inertia Is prevalent in the modes of higher order. To analyze these effects the non-linear phenomena are analyzed experimentally. When the response characteristics of non-linear vibration are analyzed using autospectrum, it is possible to analyze the subharmonic and superharmonic mot ion by comparison. The phase change is analyzed using the method of phase portrait and the non-linear characteristics of response characteristics that are developed in flexible structures can be predicted and applied to the stage of design.

  • Modern poetry begins as criticism of modernity and, by so doing, rejects its idea of time. Modernity emphasizes sequential, linear, and irreversible time and progress. Williams rejects the modern view of time, and attempts to substitute literature for history assuming that literature can take us into the immediacy of time. His poetry asserts the true moment of experience as an immediacy, of words co-existent with things. He suggests that modernity and its idea of time already led to World War I and could clearly lead to an actual, manmade apocalypse with continued technological progress. Already in the 1920s, Williams sensed that he was living in a world where such an end could come all true, which is why Spring and All, his greatest early achievement, begins with a parody of the modern apocalypse. Throughout the work, Williams criticizes "crude symbolism" and expresses his longing to annihilate "strained associations," for he believes that the metaphoric or symbolic association is related to order, the center, and the traditional concept of time itself. The metonymic model of Spring and All substitutes a self-reflexive, open-ended, and indeterminate structure of time for the linear and closed one. Instead of supplying an end, Williams only asserts the rebirth of time and attempts to arrive at immediacy while attacking the mediacy of traditional art. His characteristic use of fragmentation and abrupt juxtapositions disrupts the reader's generic, conceptual, syntactic, and grammatical expectations. His radical poetic experiments, such as the isolation of words and the disruption of syntax, produce a sense of immediacy and force the reader to confront the presence of the poem. His destruction of traditional forms, of the tyrannous designs of history and time, opens up rather than closes the possibility of signification, and takes us into a moment of beginning while disallowing temporal distancing. Spring and All, as a criticism of the modern idea of time, asks us to view Williams's work not as an ahistorical text but as a cultural subversion of modernity.

  • This paper proposes a new Digital Reverberator that models Analog Helical Coil Spring Reverberator for guitar amplifiers. While the conventional digital reverberators are proposed to provide better sound field mainly based on room acoustics, no algorithm or analysis of digital reverberators those model Helical Coil Spring Reverberator was proposed. Considering the fact that approximately $70{\sim}80$ percent of guitar amplifiers are still with Helical Coil Spring Reverberator, research was performed based not on Room Acoustics but on Helical Coil Spring Reverberator itself as an effector. After performing simulations with proposed algorithm, it was confirmed that the Digital Reverberator by proposed algorithm provides perceptually equivalent response to the conventional Analog Helical Coil Spring Reverberators.

  • This paper presents a wafer motion modeling of the transfer unit and the control unit in the clean tube system, which was developed as a means for transferring the air-floated wafers inside the closed tube filled with the super clean airs. The motion in the transfer unit is modeled as a mass-spring-damper system where the recovering force by air jets issued from the perforated plate is modeled as a linear spring. The motion in the control unit is also modeled as another mass-spring-damper system, but in two dimensional systems. Experiments with a clean tube system built for 12-inch wafers show the validity of the presented force and motion models.

  • In this paper, an exact mathematical model is derived for an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve actuator driven by an H-bridge converter. Particularly, a spring torque model of the EGR valve is proposed. The spring torque model is proposed by converting spring force and Coulomb frictional force in linear motion into a rotational torque. Moreover, a mechanical end-stop model was proposed by the valve mechanism. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified by comparing the experimental results with the simulated results.

  • Water seal is composed of metal case, garter spring, and NBR. Axisymmetric, large deformation non-linear contact problems were solved by using the finite element method for the evaluation of performance of the water seal. Effects of the interference between seal and shaft, and the garter spring on the seal characteristics were considered in this analysis. The contact force and sealing performance increased as the interference and spring stiffness increases. And middle seal is main role sealing performance. Further research efforts are required to consider the effects of the garter spring stiffness, the eccentricity by the shaft or case, and the water pressure.

  • Nonlinear aeroelastic characteristics of a two dimensional typical section model with bilinear plunge spring are investigated. Doublet-point method(DPM) is used for the calculation of supersonic unsteady aerodynamic forces which are approximated by using the minimum-state approximation. For nonlinear flutter analysis structural nonlinearity is represented by an asymmetric bilinear spring and is linearized by using the describing function method. The linear and nonlinear flutter analyses indicate that the flutter characteristics are significantly dependent on the frequency ratio. From the nonlinear flutter analysis, various types of limit cycle oscillations are observed in a wide range of air speeds below or above the linear flutter boundary. The nonlinear flutter characteristics and the nonlinear aeroelastic responses are investigated.

  • Wetlands are lands with a mixture of water, herbaceous or woody vegetation and wet soil. And linear spectral mixture analysis (LSMA) is one of the most often used methods in handling the spectral mixture problem. This study aims to test LSMA is an enhanced routine for classification of wetland land-covers in Paldang reservoir and vicinity (paldang Reservoir) using Landsat TM and ETM+ imagery. In the LSMA process, reference endmembers were driven from scatter-plots of Landsat bands 3, 4 and 5, and a series of endmember models were developed based on green vegetation (GV), soil and water endmembers which are the main indicators of wetlands. To consider phenological characteristics of Paldang Reservoir, a soil endmember was subdivided into bright and dark soil endmembers in spring and a green vegetation (GV) endmember was subdivided into GV tree and GV herbaceous endmembers in fall. We found that LSMA fractions improved the classification accuracy of the wetland land-cover. Four endmember models provided better GV and soil discrimination and the root mean squared (RMS) errors were 0.011 and 0.0039, in spring and fall respectively. Phenologically, a fall image is more appropriate to classify wetland land-cover than spring's. The classification result using 4 endmember fractions of a fall image reached 85.2 and 74.2 percent of the producer's and user's accuracy respectively. This study shows that this routine will be an useful tool for identifying and monitoring the status of wetlands in Paldang Reservoir.

  • Vibration/shock affects biggest taking a train subtraction of vehicle and durability decline. Therefore, absorber is used for vibration/shock isolation and various qualities of the material and design are applied to isolation. This paper proposes vibration/shock absorber that applies 'Disc' spring. Through comparison with 'Disc' spring that has nonlinearity and coil spring that is having linearity, see effect that nonlinearity of isolation gets in vibration/shock Isolation. Coil spring and 'Disc' spring are non-linear numerical analysis and simulation through theory for this, get and investigate comparison result through an experiment finally. Expressed and formulated shock through 'Runge-Kutta' method/impact response to nonlinear-vibration-equation of 1 degree of freedom for numerical analysis. Double half sine pulse of excitation used and analyzed result through spectrum response analysis here. Response of disc spring is compared to response of coil spring by changing $h_o/t$ ratio with computer simulation and the usage of disc spring is increased through analysis of effect of design factors. The purpose of this paper is that the shock response of disc spring is calculated through numerical simulation and to design the optimal absorber under the limited condition. And then, the isolation effect was analyzed through the shock test.
