UHF센서를 이용한 가스절연송전선로 절연파괴 위치 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Breakdown Location using UHF Sensors for Gas Insulated Transmission Lines)

  • This paper deals with the method and algorithm used to find fault locations in gas insulated transmission line. The method uses UHF sensors and digital oscilloscope to detect discharge signals emitted to the outside through insulating spacer in the event of breakdown inside GIL. UHF sensors are the external type and installed at outside of insulating spacers of GIL. And we used wavelet signal processing to analyze the discharge signals and confirm the exact fault location findings in the GIL test line. This method can overcome demerit of TDR(Time Domain Reflectometer) method having been applied to detect fault location for conventional underground transmission lines, and Ground Fault Sensors used in conventional GIS systems. TDR method requires high level of specialty and experience in analyzing the measured signals. Ground fault sensors are installed inside GIL and can be destroyed by high transient voltage. This paper's method can simplify the fault location process and minimize the damage of sensors. In addition, this method can estimate the fault location only by the time difference when discharge signals are arrived to detecting sensors at the ends of GIL sections without reasons of breakdown. To test the performance of our method, we installed sensors at the ends of test line of GIL(84m) and sensed discharge signals occurred in GIL, energized with AC voltage generator up to 700kV.

  • This paper reports on measurement method for the fiber optic strain monitoring of overhead contact line systems of trains, We used FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) sensors to measure the strain variation of overhead contact line. FBG sensors can sensitively measure the variation of strain and! or temperature by the shift wavelength of reflected wave according to the lattice variation during the measurement. FBG sensor were attached on the contact line and connected to the monitoring system with optical fibers. The monitering system with FBG sensors showed very good sensitivity to measuring strain variation and this system could be applied to the overhead contact line of KTX (Korea Train eXpress).

  • This paper reports on measurement method for the fiber optic strain monitoring of overhead contact line systems of trains. We used fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors to measure the strain variation of overhead contact line.   • This paper reviews studies on the types and functions of oil sensors used for machine condition monitoring. Machine condition monitoring is essential for maintaining the reliability of machines and can help avoid catastrophic failures while ensuring the safety and longevity of operation. Machine condition monitoring involves several components, such as compliance monitoring, structural monitoring, thermography, non-destructive testing, and noise and vibration monitoring. Real-time monitoring with oil analysis is also utilized in various industries, such as manufacturing, aerospace, and power plants. The three main methods of oil analysis are off-line, in-line, and on-line techniques. The on-line method is the most popular among these three because it reduces human error during oil sampling, prevents incipient machine failure, reduces the total maintenance cost, and does not need complicated setup or skilled analysts. This method has two advantages over the other two monitoring methods. First, fault conditions can be noticed at the early stages via detection of wear particles using wear particle sensors; therefore, it provides early warning in the failure process. Second, it is convenient and effective for diagnosing data regardless of the measurement time. Real-time condition monitoring with oil analysis uses various oil sensors to diagnose the machine and oil statuses; further, integrated oil sensors can be used to measure several properties simultaneously.

Considerations on the Long-term Reliability of On-line Partial Discharge Ceramic Sensor for Thermal Power Generators and its Demonstration in the Field

  • The present study describes the considerations on the long-term reliability of the on-line partial discharge (PD) ceramic sensor for thermal power generators. Voltage acceleration aging tests were carried out under continuous and impulsive thermal aging at more than $100^{\circ}C$, considering the practical service environment. Experimental results show that the sensors have a life that could last for more than 100 years, excellent dielectric characteristics, and insulation strength. In addition, the ceramic on-line PD sensors were installed in a thermal power generator in Korea for demonstration. The results of the PD calibration and test voltage application prove that the on-line ceramic sensors have satisfactory performances for on-line PD measurement.

  • This paper proposes a fault diagnosis method of the line-to-line voltage sensors in 3-phase AC/DC pulse width modulation (PWM) converters. The line-to-line voltage sensors are an essential device to obtain the information of the grid voltages for controlling the 3-phase AC/DC PWM converters. If the line-to-line voltage sensors are mismeasured by various faults, the voltage sensors can obtain wrong information of the grid voltage. It has an adverse effect on the control of the converter. Therefore, the converter causes the unbalance input AC current and the DC-link voltage ripple in the 3-phase AC/DC PWM converter. Hence, fast fault detection and fault tolerant control are needed. In this paper, the fault diagnosis method is proposed and verified through simulations and experiments.

  • 삼중 선 배열은 좌/우 구분된 표적 방위 탐지와 선 배열의 높은 지향지수와 같은 장점을 지닌다. 그러나 이를 구현하기 위해서는 선 배열 대비 높은 연산능력과 센서 간의 좁은 간격으로 인한 높은 센서 간 상관관계를 고려하여야 한다. 연산능력은 급격한 하드웨어의 발달로 다양한 적응빔형성 기법 / 신호처리 기법을 적용하기에 문제가 없으나, 적용 가능한 최적의 신호처리 기법을 파악하고 표적 탐지 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 수중에서 운용하는 삼중 선 배열로 수신되는 잡음 신호에 대한 센서 간 상관관계에 대한 분석이 필수적으로 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 동해에서 획득한 실험 데이터를 이용하여 삼중 선 배열을 구성하는 삼중 센서의 각 센서간 잡음 신호의 상관관계, 선형으로 나열된 삼중 센서 잡음 신호간 상관관계, 각 채널에서의 잡음 신호의 시변 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 삼중 선 배열의 특성을 고려한 빔형성 및 신호처리 기법에 필요한 정보를 확인하였다.

토마토 패이스트 가공공정의 온라인 모니터링용 RF 센서의 활용 가능성 (Feasibility of RF Sensor Application for On-line Monitoring of Tomato Paste Processing)

  • On-line monitoring of fresh tomato paste processing was done using two radio frequency (RF) sensors resonant at 85 and 110 MHz. Fresh tomato juice with soluble solid content of about $5^{\circ}Brix$ was evaporated up to $23^{\circ}Brix$ and diluted down to about $5^{\circ}Brix$ again with a pilot scale evaporator. The RF sensors were installed in a processing pipe and monitored. The pastes at a specific $^{\circ}Brix$ level were sampled and analyzed for physical properties such as soluble solid content and viscosity. The relationships between sensor outputs and measured physical properties were analyzed. Analysis results showed RF sensor is feasible to apply on-line monitoring of tomato paste processing.

In Line Plastic-Optical-Fiber Temperature Sensor

  • In this paper, we present an in line plastic-optical-fiber (POF) temperature sensor based on intensity modulation. The in line POF temperature sensor is composed of a POF, including an in-fiber micro hole filled with reversible thermochromic material, the transmittance of which depends on temperature. The reversible thermochromic material was cobalt chloride/polyvinyl butyral gel. A cobalt chloride solution of concentration 30.8 mM was formulated using 10% water/90% ethanol (v/v) solution, and gelled by dissolving polyvinyl butyral in this solution. Four types of in line POF sensors, with in line micro holes of four different diameters, were fabricated to measure temperature in the range of 25 to 75 ℃. The output optical power of all of these in line POF temperature sensors was inversely proportional to the temperature; the relation between output power and temperature was approximately linear, and the sensitivity was proportional to the diameter of the in-fiber micro hole. The experimental results indicate that an in line POF sensor can be used effectively for measuring moderate temperatures.

저가 관성센서 기반의 시선안정화 제어시스템 설계 (A Control System Design for the Line-of-Sight Stabilization based on Low-Cost Inertial Sensors)

  • The line-of-sight stabilization system is an equipment which is loaded on a vehicle and stabilizes the direction of the line-of-sight of the vision sensor to obtain a not-swayed image in the existence of external disturbances. To obtain accurate Euler angles and angular velocities simultaneously we usually need a control system which uses high-price inertial sensors including Vertical Gyro(VG) or Rate Integrating Gyro(RIG). In this paper, we design and implement a control system of a gimbal, which is a line-of-sight stabilization system using a low-cost mixed algorithm of a rate gyro and an accelerometer instead of a VG and a RIG. In the experiment where we laid the implemented line-of-sight stabilization system on the rate table. we can see the stabilized performance to external disturbances.
