When a slope failure or a debris flow occurs, a shear strength on failure plane becomes nearly zero and soil begins to flow like a non-cohesive liquid. A consistency of cohesive soils changes as a water content increases. Even a cohesive soil existing at liquid limit state has a small amount of shear strength. In this study, a water content, at which a shear strength of cohesive soils is zero and then cohesive soils will start to flow, was proposed. Three types of clays (kaolinite, bentonite and kaolinite (50%)+bentonite (50%)) were mixed with three different solutions (distilled water, sea water and microbial solution) at liquid limit state and then their water contents were increased step by step. Then, their undrained shear strength was measured using a portable vane shear device called Torvane. The ranges of undrained shear strength at liquid and plastic limits are 3.6-9.2 kPa and 24-45 kPa, respectively. On the other hand, the water content that corresponds to the value of the undrained shear strength changing most rapidly is called flow water content. The flow limit refers to the water content when undrained shear strength of cohesive soils is zero. In order to investigate the relationship between liquid limit and flow limit, the cohesive index was defined as a value of the difference between flow limit and liquid limit. The new plasticity index was defined as the value of difference between flow limit and plastic limit. The new liquidity index was also defined using flow limit. The values of flow limit are 1.5-2 times higher than those of liquid limit. At the same time, the values of new plasticity index are 2-5.5 times higher than those of original plasticity index.
In general, the design of structures and its construction processes are fundamentally dependent on their foundation and supporting ground. Thus, it is imperative to understand the behavior of the soil under certain stress and drainage conditions. As it is well known that certain characteristics and behaviors of soils with fines are highly dependent on water content, it is critical to accurately measure and identify the status of the soils in terms of water contents. Liquid limit is one of the important soil index properties to define such characteristics. However, liquid limit measurement can be affected by the proficiency of the operator. On the other hand, dynamic properties of soils are also necessary in many different applications and current testing methods often require special equipment in the laboratory, which is often expensive and sensitive to test conditions. In order to address these concerns and advance the state of the art, this study explores a novel method to determine the liquid limit of cohesive soil by employing video-based vibration analysis. In this research, the modal characteristics of cohesive soil columns are extracted from videos by utilizing phase-based motion estimation. By utilizing the proposed method that analyzes the optical flow in every pixel of the series of frames that effectively represents the motion of corresponding points of the soil specimen, the vibration characteristics of the entire soil specimen could be assessed in a non-contact and non-destructive manner. The experimental investigation results compared with the liquid limit determined by the standard method verify that the proposed method reliably and straightforwardly identifies the liquid limit of clay. It is envisioned that the proposed approach could be applied to measuring liquid limit of soil in practical field, entertaining its simple implementation that only requires a digital camera or even a smartphone without the need for special equipment that may be subject to the proficiency of the operator.

The objective of this study was to determine amino acid and protein contents of brown and milled non-glutinous rice of 13 cultivars in Korea. Protein contents of MRs (milled rices) were in order of Haepum (7.27%) > Hanareum No. 4 (7.14%) > Odae (6.84%). Protein contents of BRs (brown rices) were in order of Haepum (7.68%) > Odae (7.63%) > Hanareum No. 4 (7.60%). The amino acid content was the highest in Haepum (MR 5.76%, BR 6.49%), followed by Haedeul (MR 5.71%, BR 6.30%), and Odae (MR 5.63%, BR 6.29%). The essential amino acid contents of non-glutinous rices were in order of Haepum (MR 2.34%, BR 2.57%) > Haedeul (MR 2.31%, BR 2.48%) > Odae (MR 2.20%, BR 2.56%). The contents of amino acid and protein in BRs were considerably higher than those in MRs. Protein and most of amino acid contents were higher in Haepum than the other cultivars. The certificated reference material (CRM) 1849a (infant/adults nutritional formular) from National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) was used as the test sample to determine the precision and accuracy of the analytical method. The regression analyses revealed good correlations (correlation coefficient), greater than 0.99. The recovery values of the amino acids ranged from 93.17 to 99.59%. The limit of detection (LODs) ranged from 0.01 - 0.07 mg·100 g-1 and the limit of quantitation (LOQs) ranged from 0.03 - 0.21 mg·100 g-1 for all analytes.
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), discovered by Stanley Cohen in 1960, has a potential healing effect for wounds and bums. Considering wound care, in order to avoid physical stress at the wound surface and efficiently apply EGF, the need for viscous spraying solutions was essential. Viscous spraying solutions containing EGF were prepared by utilizing viscosity-building polymer, poloxamer 407, and by introducing liposome systems. On the other hand, EGF is purified on reverse HPLC gradient program with the mobile solvent of acetonitrile. It is necessary to observe liposomal EGF changes as the acetonitrile contents varied in order to introduce liposome systems at the step of EGF solution (at the time of EGF purifying). By evaluating the size distribution and entrapment efficiency of EGF liposome, it was possible to detemine the limit contents of acetonitrile and establish the optimal conditions for solution formulations. It has been revealed that, as the acetonitrile content increases, mean diameter of EGF liposomes increased and the width of size distribution tends to decrease. The limit contents of acetonitrile were 10%, since there was little difference to the acetonitrile free liposomes.
An average Korean known to ingest 3.4 times of the nitrate ADI level are found to have taken in 97% of nitrates through vegetables. This study analyzed the contents of nitrates and chlorophyll in organic Chinese cabbages, a major favorite vegetable for Koreans, with a view to lowering daily intake of nitrate. Our findings show that, in organically cultivated cabbages, the further outward the leaf was located, the more significantly the contents of nitrates increased, with the midrib and leaf blade showing positive relationship of $r=0.789^{**}$, and $r=0.659^{**}$, respectively. In the case of the midrib, the contents increased as high as 79 times ranging from 40ppm for the innermost leaf to 3, 177ppm for the outermost one, and when it comes to the leaf blade, the contents rose as high as 87 times, showing a range of 40 ~ 3,481ppm. Our findings also suggest that it is advisable to discard 1/3 of the outermost leaves before eating Chinese cabbages, since the outer leaves with known high contents of chlorophyll also have high contents of nitrates.
In recent years, advanced in digital technologies have created significant changes in the way we reproduce, distribute and market Intellectual Property (IP). DRM for multicast contents is complicated risk, the further technology development and human demand, this approaching is still being researched by the scientist and all by the company which is conducting in piracy management reduced, and every country has national policy to make this consortium to limit piracy properties, based on this paper research development, just only two approaching to reduce piracy in DRM they are Industrial Property (IP) and Copyright. In this paper, we are not only figuring and analyzing about the processes to reduce and limit the piracy and unprotected copy law but also describing about the encryption process, watermarking and digital signature process algorithms. The basic concepts of this encryption process for web-based multicast content in DRM are implemented in Java. We conduct this method is a computerized through web based application system approaching to reduce unprotected copy and piracy. Which is used in DRM for multicast content in every section, by providing a fundamental in information technology development, we believe this research is reliable to prove that is unprotected copy, and piracy can be reduced by protecting with this paradigm.
Many local governments are reducing speed limits according to the "Safe Speed 5030" policy implemented by the government to reduce traffic accident deaths. In the urban road sections in many metropolitan cities where speed limit reduction is applied as a pilot project, the decrease effect of the traffic accident number and death count is shown; however, no study of the effect analysis on the road sections of medium and small cities (basic local government unit) is found. Therefore, this study investigated the travel speed, number of traffic accidents, and death count before and after the implementation of speed limit reduction, targeting some urban road sections in Pyeongtaek city and some provincial road sections in Icheon city among basic local governments, namely among medium and small cities in Seoul Metropolitan Area.
Recently it is important to protect the digital contents copyright because the multimedia industry is growing rapidly and the network technology is highly developed. Current digital content protection methods have disadvantage that there is very hardly accessible to the digital contents and also it has a limit that it cannot protect the contents once the encrypted contents decrypt. In order to solve this problem, digital watermarking technology has been introduced. This study presents the trend of digital watermarking technology, especially standardization and the trend of digital watermarking algorithms.

In this paper, we consider a binary recovery framework of the Compressed Sensing (CS) problem. We derive an upper bound for $L_0$ recovery performance of a binary sparse signal in terms of the dimension N and sparsity K of signals, the number of measurements M. We show that the upper bound obtained from this work goes to the limit bound when the sensing matrix sufficiently become dense. In addition, for perfect recovery performance, if the signals are very sparse, the sensing matrices required for $L_0$ recovery are little more dense.

To assess the safety of solar salts of Jeollanamdo province where most of Korean solar salts are produced, 433 samples of solar salts in total were collected and analyzed for their contents of sodium chloride and heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury). Sodium chloride contents ranged from 80 to 85% in 63% of solar salts analyzed. Lead was not detected in 77% of solar salt samples and showed a value of below the maximum permissible limit (2 ppm) in other samples. Cadmium was not detected in most samples (78%), and the other samples where cadmium was detected showed a value far below the maximum permissible limit (0.5 ppm) except for three ones. Arsenic was detected in only four samples, but their concentrations were far below the permissible limit (0.1 ppm). Mercury was not detected in all samples. There were some differences between producing areas in the levels of sodium chloride and lead of solar salts, but the contents of cadmium, arsenic and mercury did not show significant regional differences. These results clearly indicate that solar salts produced from Jeollanamdo province are safe in the aspects of lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury contents.
