  • A prior fundamental study was executed using a constant volume chamber to improve the burning properties of lean pre-mixture by the injection of active radicals generated in the sub-chamber. In consequence, RI method shows remarkable progress in the aspects of burning velocity and combustible lean limit compared with SI method. In this study, the necessary additional works have been performed to be based on the former results. We changed parameters as the initial temperature and the initial pressure of mixture. And the effects of residual gas at issue in a real engine were investigated. As a result, the effects of initial temperature were significant, but on the other hand, those of initial pressure were slight. The correlation of passage hole number between overall passage hole area was grasped. And the more detailed analysis is required on residual gas.

  • The spontaneous ignition mechanism of high pressure hydrogen gas released into tube is well-deduced from previous studies. However, those results have a limit because the studies have been conducted at low burst pressure of about 10 MPa. In this study, the process or ignition feature are investigated with higher burst pressure of up to 30 MPa through numerical analysis. The results show that the trend of ignition became to be different with a burst pressure. While two reaction regions is important to initiate the ignition when burst pressure is about 10 MPa, the reaction of the core region does not play a role in ignition inside the tube when a burst pressure is above 20 MPa.

  • In this study, feasibility of expansion of BFL equivalence ratio are examined with change of injection location of hydrogen gas in intake pipe, coolant temperature, spark timing and amount of residual gas. As the results, BFL equivalence ratio is increased when injection location has some distance from intake valve. And it is decreased in accordance with increasing of coolant temperature and advance of spark timing. The amount of residual gas has little effect on BFL equivalence ratio.

  • Propagation characteristics of tribrachial flames have been investigated experimentally in both two-dimensional and axisymmetric counterflows. Mixture fraction gradient at stoichiometric location is controlled by varying equivalence ratios at the two nozzles, one of which maintains rich while the other lean premixture. Tribrachial flames propagating through these mixtures are investigated. The propagation speed of tribrachial flames in two-dimensional counterflow decreases with fuel concentration gradient and has much higher speed than the maximum speed predicted previously in two-dimensional mixing layers. From an analogy with premixed flame propagation, this excessively large propagation speed can be attributed to the tribrachial flame propagating with respect to burnt gas. Corresponding maximum speed in the limit of small mixture fraction gradient is estimated and extrapolated experimental results substantiate this limiting speed. As mixture fraction gradient approaches zero, a transition in propagation characteristics occurs, such that the propagation speed of tribrachial flame approaches stoichiometric laminar burning velocity with respect to burnt gas. Similar behavior has been obtained for tribrachial flames propagating in axisymmetric counterflow.

  • Experiments on burning process of the industrial wastes were performed on a nozzle-type grate in the industrial waste incinerator with a capacity of 160 kilograms per hour. The temporal variations of temperatures and concentrations of the exhaust gas were measured and analyzed. The synthetic leather waste with the moisture content less than 2% was used. The experimental results show that the CO concentration in the exhaust gas exceeds the limit, 600 ppm, and the gas temperature fluctuates too much when 8 kg of waste was supplied every 3 minutes, equivalent to the capacity of 160kg per hour. That is a typical burning mode of this high-calorific industrial waste. When the smaller unit waste input, 6kg per every 2 min 15 seconds was supplied, we could reduce the fluctuations of the furnace temperature and improve the exhaust emissions, especially the CO concentration.

  • The gas nitro-carburizing treatment with the merits of carburizing and nitriding treatment is recently applied to transmission gears. the shafls of an engine oil pump and steering shafls. For all that, the researches of the gas nitro-carburizing treatment are short of the fatigue behavior and the evaluation of fatigue life. In this paer, it is examined for the effect of inclusions and hole defects with fatigue limit and the evaluation of the fatigue strengthaccording tothe hardness and resifualstress with the specimen of a notro-carburizing treatment.

  • This paper deals with the effect of $N_2$ and $H_2$gas mixture ratio and ion-nitriding time in the corrosion fatigue fracture behavior of ion-nitrided SCM4 steel with notch subject to rotary bending stress. The specimens were treated rapid water cooling after ion-nitriding at $500^{\circ}C$ Torr for 1 hour and 3 hours in gas mixtures of 80% $N_2$and 50% $N_2$. The fatigue limit and the fracture strength of corrosion fatigue depended on $N_2$gas quantity and ion-nitriding time. The ion-nitrided specimens showed about 88 .approx. 158% increase in the fracture strength of corrosion fatigue in $10^6$ cycles than non-nitrided specimens. The corrosion failure is due to corrosion pitting of the surface, and the propargation of cracks started at the surface into the core.

  • When the stagnation temperature of the combustion chamber or ambient air increases, the specific heats and their ratio do not remain constant any more, and start to vary with this temperature. The gas remains perfect, except, it will be calorically imperfect and thermally perfect. A new generalized form of the Prandtl Meyer function is developed, by adding the effect of variation of this temperature, lower than the threshold of dissociation. The new relation is presented in the form of integral of a complex analytical function, having an infinite derivative at the critical temperature. A robust numerical integration quadrature is presented in this context. The classical form of the Prandtl Meyer function of a perfect gas becomes a particular case of the developed form. The comparison is made with the perfect gas model for aim to present a limit of its application. The application is for air.

  • For an accurate risk assessment of furan, a potential human carcinogen, levels must be determined in human blood plasma using a simple and robust assay. In this study, solid phase microextraction-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (SPME-GC/MS) was used to analyze blood plasma levels of furan in 100 healthy individuals who consumed a normal diet. The subjects were 30 to 70 years of age and 51% were women. Ultimately, an analytical method was established for analyzing furan in human blood. The limit of quantification (LOQ) and furan recovery rate in blood were 1.0 ppb and 104%, respectively. Finally, furan was detected in 21 individuals (13 males, 8 females) with levels ranging up to 17.86 ppb (ng furan/g food).

  • Voglibose is a new antidiabetic agent currently being devoloped by the research and development division of Takeda chemical industries Ltd. in japan. Basic research for the determination of voglibose in pharmaceutical preparation by gas chromatography. This method utilizes voglibose to give its acyl compound with acetyl anhydride in pyridine solution. The calibration curve for voglibose was linear over the concentration range of 0.08∼0.32 $\mu\textrm{g}$/${mu}ell$ with correlation coefficient of 0.996. The detection limit for voglibose was 0.016 $\mu\textrm{g}$/${mu}ell$ and the result of recovery test was 101.6% with relative standard deviation of 2.0% by standard addition method.
