In this paper we present the first results of summer-time F region irregularities during low solar condition observed using the Gadanki MST radar. Echoes were observed on all 20 nights of radar observations and were mostly confined to the post-midnight hours. Echo morphology is very different from the equinoxial post-sunset plume-like features reported earlier from Gadanki. Echo SNRs are lower by 25 dB than their equinoxial post-sunset counterpart, and are quite comparable to the equinoxial irregularities in the post-midnight hours, which are essentially the decaying post-sunset irregularities. The Doppler velocities, which lie in the range of $\pm$ 100 m s-1, show upward/northward motion of the irregularities during the initial phase in contrast to the observed predominant downward/southward velocities associated with the decaying equinoxial post-midnight F region irregularities. Spectral widths of the summer echoes, which are well below 50 m s-1 and are very similar to those of the decaying equinoxial irregularities, represent the presence of weak plasma turbulence. Simultaneous observations made using a collocated ionosonde show no ionogram trace during 2200-0530 LT except for a few occasions. Weak frequency type spread F observed during midnight hours occurred without prior occurrence of range spread F. Concurrent ionosonde observations made from magnetic equatorial location Trivandrum also show very similar result and thus no height rise of the F layer during the midnight hours could be monitored. The preliminary analysis suggests that the post-midnight irregularities reported here are mostly freshly generated ones. The observations are discussed in the light of other observational results reported earlier and the current under standing on the post-midnight occurrence F region irregularities in summer.

Improvement of old-fashioned rain gauge systems for automatic, timely, continuous, and accurate precipitation observation is highly essential for weather/climate prediction and natural hazards early warning, since the occurrence frequency and intensity of heavy and extreme precipitation events (especially floods) are recently getting more increase and severe worldwide due to climate change. Although rain gauge accuracy of 0.1 mm is recommended by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the traditional rain gauges in both weighting and tipping bucket types are often unable to meet that demand due to several existing technical limitations together with higher production and maintenance costs. Therefore, we aim to introduce a newly developed and cost-effective hybrid rain gauge system at 0.1 mm accuracy that combines advantages of weighting and tipping bucket types for continuous, automatic, and accurate precipitation observation, where the errors from long-term load cells and external environmental sources (e.g., winds) can be removed via an automatic drainage system and artificial intelligence-based data quality control procedure. Our rain gauge system consists of an instrument unit for measuring precipitation, a communication unit for transmitting and receiving measured precipitation signals, and a database unit for storing, processing, and analyzing precipitation data. This newly developed rain gauge was designed according to the weather instrument criteria, where precipitation amounts filled into the tipping bucket are measured considering the receiver's diameter, the maximum measurement of precipitation, drainage time, and the conductivity marking. Moreover, it is also designed to transmit the measured precipitation data stored in the PCB through RS232, RS485, and TCP/IP, together with connecting to the data logger to enable data collection and analysis based on user needs. Preliminary results from a comparison with an existing 1.0-mm tipping bucket rain gauge indicated that our developed rain gauge has an excellent performance in continuous precipitation observation with higher measurement accuracy, more correct precipitation days observed (120 days), and a lower error of roughly 27 mm occurred during the measurement period.

Moiré patterns emerge due to the interference between the non-emission area of the LED screen and the grid line in an image sensor of a video recording device when taking a video in the presence of the LED screen. To reduce the moiré intensity, we have fabricated an anti-moiré filter using hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) by slot-die coating. The LED screen has a large non-emission area because of a large pitch (distance between LED chips), causing more severe moiré phenomenon, compared with a display panel having a very narrow black matrix (BM). It is shown that HGMs diffuse light in such a way that the periodicity of the screen is broken and thus the moiré intensity weakens. To quantitatively analyze its moiré suppression capability, we have calculated the spatial frequencies of the moiré fringes using fast Fourier transform. It is addressed that the moiré phenomenon is suppressed and thus the amplitude of each discrete spatial frequency term is reduced as the HGM concentration is increased. Using the filter with the HGM concentration of 9 wt%, the moiré fringes appeared depending sensitively on the distance between the LED screen and the camera are almost completely removed and the visibility of a nature image is enhanced at a sacrifice of luminance.
The size of the OLED material market is expected to grow from $1.1 billion in 2019 to $2.3 billion in 2023, with an average annual sustainable growth of more than 19%. Among the facilities mainly used by OLED material manufacturers, accidents such as fire, explosion, and leakage frequently occur when using filtration equipment, so it is necessary to improve the risk when using filtration equipment. In this study, it was divided into four main processes, namely, assembly and disassembly process, filtration process, wet cake recovery process, and washing process in order to derive the risks associated with the use of filtration equipment. Hazard factors were derived by conducting accident case investigations, preliminary interviews, and surveys. For the analysis of questionnaire results, statistical analysis such as frequency analysis and Pearson chi-square test analysis was performed using SPSS 21, and risk improvement measures were suggested using the analyzed results. It is expected that this study will serve as a basis for dealing with safety and risk factors that may occur as the size of the OLED market expands.
In this paper, we consider the higher-order HartreeFock equations. The higher-order linear Schrödinger equation was introduced in [5] as the formal finite Taylor expansion of the pseudorelativistic linear Schrödinger equation. In [13], the authors established global-in-time Strichartz estimates for the linear higher-order equations which hold uniformly in the speed of light c ≥ 1 and as their applications they proved the convergence of higher-order Hartree-Fock equations to the corresponding pseudo-relativistic equation on arbitrary time interval as c goes to infinity when the Taylor expansion order is odd. To achieve this, they not only showed the existence of solutions in L2 space but also proved that the solutions stay bounded uniformly in c. We address the remaining question on the convergence of higherorder Hartree-Fock equations when the Taylor expansion order is even. The distinguished feature from the odd case is that the group velocity of phase function would be vanishing when the size of frequency is comparable to c. Owing to this property, the kinetic energy of solutions is not coercive and only weaker Strichartz estimates compared to the odd case were obtained in [13]. Thus, we only manage to establish the existence of local solutions in Hs space for s > $\frac{1}{3}$ on a finite time interval [-T, T], however, the time interval does not depend on c and the solutions are bounded uniformly in c. In addition, we provide the convergence result of higher-order Hartree-Fock equations to the pseudo-relativistic equation with the same convergence rate as the odd case, which holds on [-T, T].

This study was aimed to investigate the effect of 1)irradiation with several different ratios using red, green, and blue LEDs and 2)various pulsed light irradiation with 50% duty ratio using red and blue LEDs on the growth and morphogenesis of three lettuce cultivars (Lactuca sativar L. cv. 'Jukchukmeon', 'Lolo Rosa', and 'Grand Rapid') in hydroponics culture system for 4 weeks after transplanting. Seeds were sown in rock-wool plug trays and they were placed in a culture room which was controlled at $23{\pm}1^{\circ}C/18{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ temperature and 50-60/70-85% for day and night, respectively, during cultivation period. Irradiated RGB ratios with LEDs were 6:3:1, 5:2.5:2.5, 3:3:4, 2:2:6, and 1:1:8 with $110{\pm}3{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD on the surface of cultivation bed. The frequencies of pulsed lighting was 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000Hz (20, 10, 0.1, 0.04 ms) with red and blue LEDs and 50% duty ratio. At the RGB ratio of 6:3:1, the average fresh weight of 'Jukchukmeon' was significantly higher than that of other RGB treatments, but no significant difference compared to the fluorescent treatment. The average fresh weight at 1:1:8 RGB ratio in 'Lolo Rosa' was significantly lower than that of other RGB treatments. Leaf number and fresh weight of 'Grand Rapid' were significantly lower in the control and 1:1:8 RGB treatments, compared to the other RGB treatments. As the ratio of blue light increased, leaf length decreased and leaf shape became round in three lettuces. Although there is little change in growth, it could not be found any tendency to affect the growth and morphogenesis of three lettuces caused by increasing or decreasing frequency of pulsed lighting with 50% duty ratio at the $72{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of alcohol drinking on dietary behaviors and nutrient intakes among the university male students. The subjects were divided three group; no-alcohol group(n=83), alcohol group(n=78), and high-alcohol group(n=78).And they were observed general characteristics, life style, eating pattern, food frequency and nutrient intake using questionnaires. The mean age, height, weight and BMI of the subjects were 25.8$\pm$6.1 years old 171.5$\pm$5.4 cm, 63.4$\pm$9.7 kg and 2.3$\pm$2.8/kg/$m^2$, respectively. The types of residence and person who prepares meals were significantly different among the groups: the frequency of self-boarding and preparing meals oneself in high-alcohol group were higher than in other two groups. The frequency of physical exercise and cigarette smoking in high-alcohol group were higher than in other two groups. There were no significant differences in skipping meals among three groups. However, the most common reson why high-alcohol group skipped meals was due to a eating habit, while a lack of time in other two groups. The results show that the high-alcohol group tended to eat more often instant ramien, soybean sprout, anchovy, and coffee compared to the other two groups. The energy intakes in alcohol and high-alcohol groups were lower than those in no-alcohol group. In conclusion, high-alcohol students have unhealthy dietary behaviors in the light of high frequency of cigarette smoking, eating habit of skipping meals and instant foods, and therefore showing a strong need of proper education in alcohol withdrawal and meal management for them.

Environmental factors that affect the singing of cicadas have not been studied extensively, especially those affecting the cicadas' singing during the nighttime. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the effects of tropical night and light pollution on the cicadas' singing in a downtown area. The study sites were an apartment complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and the Chiaksan National Park in Wonju-si. The study subjects were Hyalessa fuscata and Cryptotympana atrata, which are the dominant species in Korea during summer. Cicada songs were recorded 24 hours a day, every day. The recording period was between July and August, lasting 25 days at the Seoul site and 14 days at the Chiaksan National Park. Temperature, precipitation, humidity, and amount of sunshine were selected as the environmental factors that potentially affect the cicadas' singing. Statistical analyses included correlations of meteorological factors with the cicadas' singing per hour, per 24 hours, and at nighttime (21:00~04:00). The results showed that: 1) H. fuscata began singing during the dawn hours, and the singing increased in intensity early in the morning. C. atrata's singing reached its peak in the morning and afternoon, ceased during sunset hours, thereby exhibiting a difference in the singing pattern of the two species. 2) The frequency of singing by H. fuscata decreased when C. atrata began to sing intensively in numbers, thereby exhibiting interspecific influence. 3) The results of the correlation analysis between meteorological factors and the singing of H. fuscata and C. atrata showed that both species tended to sing more when the temperature was higher and sang less on rainy days. 4) When limited to nighttime only, C. atrata showed a tendency of singing when the nighttime temperature was high ($24-30^{\circ}C$, average $27^{\circ}C$), whereas H. fuscata did not show a correlation with meteorological factors. However, since H. fuscata sang during the night in areas with artificial lighting, it was concluded that its singing was due to light pollution.

This study aimed to isolate and identify freshwater algae from the organic agricultural ecosystems and investigate its biological characteristics to study the possibility of utilizing a biomass freshwater algae in organic farming. In the survey area, average water temperature was $12.4{\sim}28.2^{\circ}C$ and the pH ranges were from 6.1 to 8.5. The solid culture method is more suitable than liquid culture method for isolation of freshwater algae with lower contamination level and higher isolation frequency. A total of 115 strains were isolated from six freshwater algae habitats in nine regions in Korea. BGMM (BG11 Modified Medium) amended with NaNO3 and $KNO_3$ as a nitrogen, and $Na_2CO_3$ as carbon source was designed to isolate and culture freshwater algae. Absorbance of freshwater algae culture has increased dramatically to four days and decreased after eight days after inoculation. CHK008 of the seven isolates showed the highest absorbance in seven days after culturing in BGMM. The optimal pH of BGMM for culturing freshwater algae was pH 6-7. As light intensity increased, growth of freshwater algae increased. Among the five kinds of carbon sources, glucose and galactose promoted good growth of freshwater algae in BGMM. The colony color of purified 16 green algae isolates showed a separation of green, dark and light green, and of them, eleven algae strains showed a strong fluorescent light under fluorescence microscopy. Cell size of the green algae showed a wide range of variation depending on the species. General morphology of the green algae strains was spherical. Chlamydomonas sp. was elliptical, and Chlorella sorokiniana was ellipsoidal and cylindrical. All strains of the green algae except for Chlamydomonas sp. did not have flagella. One isolate of Chlamydomonas sp. and five isolates of C. sorokiniana secreted mucus. Sixteen isolates of 16 green algae were identified as two family and six species, Chlorella vulgalis, C. sorokiniana, C. pyrenoidosa, C. kessleri, C. emersonii, and Chlamydomonas sp. based on their morphological characteristics.

Objectives: This study was designed to understand the oral health knowledge & conduct of middle-school students, search for the learning objective and the educational method in line with the subjects and of utilizing as the basic data for an effective oral health-care program. Methods: The samples to achieve the purpose of this research are composed of 139 students in middle-school, OO county. Chungcheongbuk-do, the number of male students 64, and female students 75. Data were statistically analyzed by frequency analysis, $x^2$-test or Fisher's exact test by using SPSS WIN Ver. 12.0. Results: Among items on oral-health knowledge in middle-school students. the awareness ratio on a cause and preventive method for oral disease was surveyed to be lower than the awareness ratio on symptoms of oral disease. As a result of examining by comparing knowledge and behavior on the time of tooth brush. both awareness and behavior were the level of 50% or less than it. In particular, 46.2% perceived after lunch. but practice just accounted for 33.0%. The frequency of tooth brush a day was the largest in a case(47.5%) of doing twice a day. However. there was also the response (5.8%) with saying of brushing once or not brushing even once. Thus, the practice of tooth brush was surveyed to be very low even if being a minority of students. The frequency of taking a light meal was 68.8% in less than twice a day. However, even students of taking more than five times were surveyed to be 9.8%. Out of the whole-body health in over 50%-59.9%. the oral health was surveyed to be perceived to be very important. Compared to the awareness level on importance of a tooth, the ratio of visiting a dentistry was analyzed to be very low. Conclusions: The study results suggest that the school oral-health project was examined to have the necessity of being expanded and carried out even in middle-and-high schools, by which the specific oral-health promotion program including oral-health education in this period is developed.
