쇼트피닝한 스프링강의 피로균열진전 연구 (A Study of Fatigue Crack Growth in Shot Peened Spring Steel)

  • Antifatigue failure technology take an important the part of current industries. Currently, the shot peening is used for removing the defect from the surface of steel and improving the fatigue strength on surface. Therefore in this paper the effect of compressive residual stress by shot peening on fatigue crack growth characteristics in stress ratio(R=0.1, 0.3, 0.6)was investigated with considering fracture mechanics. There is difference between shot peening specimen and unpeening specimen. Fatigue crack growth rate of shot peening specimen was lower than that of unpeening specimen. Fatigue lift shows more improvement in the shot peening material than in the unpeening material. And compressive residual stress of surface on the shot peening processed operate resistance force of fatigue crack propagation. That is the constrained force about plasticity deformation was strengthened by resultant stress, which resulted from plasticity deformation and compressive residual stress in the process of fatigue crack propagation.

  • Both motion of free metallic particles from which most GIS internal failures are caused and partial discharges from the particles were examined using EHV GIS test chamber. Effects from particle length and gas pressure which are main factors to lead to breakdown failure were investigated theoretically and experimentally. Magnitude of both lift-off voltage and partial discharge inception voltage were measured respectively and, through these measurements, this paper showed the possibility of predicting breakdown fault and of taking action to prevent the fault in advance. The measurement of partial discharge when the particles began to move could be adopted to decide minimum sensitivity in developing predictive diagnostic equipments. Both the amount of apparent discharge and real discharge in GIS were examined theoretically and experimentally, then experimental results were analyzed on the basis of the theory.

  • 천음속 영역에서 순항 속도로 비행하는 상용 여객기에 대해 공력을 해석하였다. 실제 여객기의 축소모형을 사진으로 계측하여 역설계하여 형상을 모델링하였다. 사면체로 전체 격자계를 구성하였고 정상 상태에서 압축성 비점성 3차원 Euler 방정식을 풀었다. 날개에 엔진이 장착되었을 때와 제거되었을 때에 대해 계산하였는데 엔진이 장착되면 양력과 항력이 각각 1.49%와 3.9%씩 증가하였다. 또한 날개 표면에서 압력 분포와 엔진 주위의 유동 특성을 밝혔다.

  • 본 논문은 수치해석을 이용하여 와전류센서의 설계 및 특성을 고찰하였다. 와전류센서의 설계에 있어서 직경 및 폭을 변화시켰다. 와전류센서에 인가되는 주파수와 lift-off, 도전율의 변화에 대해 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석을 통해 와전류센서의 임피던스값을 산출하고 정규화 임피던스도를 그려 와전류센서의 특성을 살펴 보았다. 수치해석결과, 와전류센서의 폭을 크게 하는 것 보다. 직경을 크게 하는 것이 감도가 좋은 특성을 나타냈다. lift-off효과는 와전류센서와 시험대상 사이의 거리가 작을수록 감도가 좋았다. 도전율 변화에 따른 특성은 도전율이 증가할수록 임피던스도의 반원의 궤적이 아래로 향하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Hydrodynamic Characteristics of a Small Bee in Hovering Flight

  • The three-dimensional flows in the Weis-Fogh mechanism are studied by flow visualization and numerical simulation by the vortex method. The vortex method. especially the vortex stick method, is employed to investigate the vortex structure in the wake of the two wings. The pressure is estimated by the Bernoulli equation, and the lift on the wing are also obtained. As the results the eddies near the leading edge of each wing in the fling stage take a convex shape because the eddies shed from both tips entrain the flows and the downwash in the rotating stage is deflected toward the outside because the outside tip vortex is stronger than the inside one. And the lift coefficient on the wings in this mechanism is almost independent of the Reynolds number.

진동하는 두 개의 실린더 주위의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Flow Characteristics of Two Oscillating Cylinders)

  • Flows around two oscillating cylinders in side-by-side arrangement at Re=185 are simulated using an immersed boundary method. The cylinders oscillate vertically in opposite directions in uniform cross-flow. We describe flow patterns, drag and lift forces by varying distance between two cylinders $(1.4{\leq}g{\leq}2.2,\;1.0{\leq}g{\leq}1.8)$ and oscillating frequency ratios $(f_e/f_o=0.8,\;f_e/f_o=1.0\;and\;f_e/f_o =1.2)$. Wake patterns, drag and lift coefficients are affected by both of frequency ratio and gap between two cylinders. Near wakes of each case are classified with the definition of previous studies.

모서리에 펜스를 가진 정방형주의 유체력저감 특성 (Fluid Force Reduction Characteristics of a Square Prism Having Fences on the Corner)

  • The fluid force reduction of a square prism having fences on the corner was studied by the measuring the drag and lift acting on the prism and by the visualization experiment of the flow around the prism. The height of the fence was 10% of the square width and the range of Reynolds number considered was from $Re=0.9{\times}104$ to $Re=2.1{\times}104$. The drag of the prism was reduced about 6.8% and the amplitude of the lift was reduced by attaching two normal fences on the rear corners of the prism. In this case, the separated flow at the front corners was reattached on the upper and lower sides of the prism and the vortex streets at the wake region were appeared more slowly than that of the prototype prism.

  • In this paper, an algorithm is proposed for the automatic movement of the platform on a ladder lift which operates by using hydraulic force. Experimental data of the manual movement operated by experts are acquired and analyzed. The length of movement of the platform is estimated by the number of pulses from an encoder while the platform is moving. The operating characteristics have been extracted from the data. The number of pulses varies whenever the weight of load varies. We propose a model to compensate the difference of the number of pulses. An automatic movement algorithm based on the model is proposed. The platform can start and stop smoothly at the starting point and the destination point. Experimental results show that the error distance at the destination point is less than 5 cm when the length of the ladder is 23 m.

  • The Ν-value in the standard penetration test(SPT) is affected by the magnitude of the rod penetration energy transmitted from the falling hammer as well as the geotechnical characteristics of the ground. Understanding of the striking energy efficiency in the SPT equipment is getting important for that reason. The energy efficiencies of the doughnut hammer with the hydraulic lift system and the automatic trip hammer system were investigated through field tests using the instrumented rod and wave-signal acquisition systems including the pile driving analyzer(PDA) . The rod energy ratio, ΕR$\_$r/ was defined as the ratio of the energy delivered to the drilling rod to the potential free-fall energy of the hammer. It appears that the type of the hammer and lift/drop system had a strong influence on the energy transfer mechanism and ΕR$\_$r/ also varies according to the energy instrumentation system and the analysis methods.

LPG 엔진용 고압 핀틀노즐 내부유동 수치해석 (Prediction of the internal flow in a pintle nozzle for LPG engine)

  • The use of "clean fuels" such as butane, propane, and mixtures of these (LPG) is an attractive way to reduce exhaust emissions. In this study internal flow of the pintle type injector for LPG engine is studied. The breakup of liquid jet is the result of competing, unstable hydrodynamic forces acting on the liquid jet as it exits the nozzle. The nozzle geometry and up-stream injection conditions affect the characteristics of flow inside the nozzle, such as turbulence and cavitation bubbles. A set of calculations of the internal flow in a pintle type nozzle were performed using a two dimensional flow simulation under different nozzle geometry and upstream flow conditions. The calculation showed that the turbulent intensity and discharge coefficient are related to needle leading angle(.alpha.) and needle lift.edle lift.
