The importance of time grows greater these days. For that reason, much research has been conducted to investigate time use. In particular, time spent in housework has been a focus in the human ecology. This study aimed to look into the field of research about time spent in housework from 1991 to 2004. To conduct the inquiry, 35 research projects were analyzed by subject. It turned out that most of the research studied the actual state of time use and related variables. Secondly, the research was classified by the measurement method, such as who wrote the time log or questionnaire, what type of response the researcher wanted and what kind of recording method was used. In 30 research projects, respondents wrote in their time logs and questionnaires by themselves. A few research projects presented certain types of behavior as examples of the actions in everyday life. For the recording method, 22 of the projects employed the time log method and 11 used questionnaires. Thirdly, all the research was categorized by the respondent of each project. 14 projects were targeted .at housewives and 14 were for married couples. Lastly, the definition of time spent in housework was used to consider these 35 studies. Most of the research studies defined the 'time spent in housework' as the total amount of the time spent in eating, clothing, housing, family care and household management.
To make value-added products from small-diameter larch logs it is necessary to reduce the color variation between boards. The effect of heat treatment on the color variation was investigated. Four hundred air-dried larch squares were visually classified into six groups. The largest color difference index between them was 8.8. When they were kiln-dried lower than $120^{\circ}C$, their average color difference indexes decreased to less than 6.0 compared with the air-dried. However statistical analyses revealed that kiln-drying largely increased the variation of the indexes of the color elements. Heat-treatment above $150^{\circ}C$ increased the color difference indexes with the increase of temperature. The variation of color difference indexes within a group at $190^{\circ}C$ were less than the groups at $150^{\circ}C$ and $170^{\circ}C$. It implies that heat treatment at $190^{\circ}C$ could make the color of larch squares uniform.

Based on previous studies such as TPACK, digital literacy, and maker education, this study searched the Skills for Using Technologies required for elementary school pre - service teachers and classified them into 13 sub - factors in 5 domains. We designed and applied a project-based maker education instructional model to improve Skills for Using Technologies for first grade students at G Education University taking "technology utilization and smart life". Through interviews after the lecture and after the lecture, the ability of university students to utilize the technology was examined and the acceptance attitude was improved. We also modified the project-based maker education model based on interviews, observation logs, and mutual evaluations of college students.
Diverse methods of life guidance adopted by the teacher's subjective standards including corporal punishment have inherent problems. Some schools have introduced and exercised the merit and demerit system, which uses merits and demerits to guide the children for desirable life habits and etiquette. And most of them are done off-line and thus have difficulties with real time reference, statistical process, filling out logs, and management. The merit and demerit management system(MDMS) was developed to support the process, statistics, reference, and authority features as well as card issuing. It also promotes life guidance, personality education, participation of the parents, and further desirable cooperation among the teachers, students, and parents. The system has lots of advantages such as reducing resistance from the students against life guidance rules, enabling the students to check their life guidance status at school, allowing the parents to check how their children are doing at school, increasing efficiency of data management, and taking some burden off the shoulders of the teachers doing statistics. MDMS helps the teachers base corporal punishment on the guidance rules, deter direct punishment on certain body parts, and pursue more systematic, scientific, and human life guidance.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the creation techniques of artificial wetland, one of biotopes developed to promote biodiversity in urban areas, and to look for improvement steps. Specifically, artificial wetland creation techniques were categorized into living environment and living creature classification. Being living conditions for creations, habitat environment was reviewed with a focus on water and soil environments. Living creatures were classified into plants, insects, fish, and birds. The evaluation of creation techniques was done in post-construction evaluation while considering the creation of habitats for living creatures. Intervention by users, changes in living environment and living species, and relevance of creation techniques were reviewed. Key results of this study are as follows. (1) Water environment for the living environment of creatures provides a suitable environment conditions for the living of creatures through a process easing the use of piped water. Various water depths and embankment appear to have a positive impact on the living of aquatic life. In particular, embankment covered in soil naturally played an important role as a place for the activities of aquatic insects and young fish as well as the growth of aquatic plants. (2) Various aquatic and ground plants to promote insect-diversity, shallow water, and old-tree logs had contributed greatly in increasing the types and number of insects. Aquatic insects. Aquatic insects were seen much particularly in areas where aquatic plants are rich but water is shallow than any other areas. (3) A space piled with stone to provide habitats for fish was not much used. However, it was observed that fish used embankment built with natural stones and embankment using logs in areas where water is deep. In addition, it was confirmed that 1,500 fish that had been released propagated using various depths and places for birth. (4) It was analyzed that techniques (creation of island, log setting, and creation of man-made bird nests) to provide habitats and to attract birds are not serving their roles. In such a case, it is believed that species had not increased due to the smallness as well as isolated features of the area. Based on theoretical review, they are judged to be areas that are likely to be used when a greater variety of birds is introduced. It is judged that attracting and keeping more birds at the site, such spaces need to be linked systematically in the future in terms of building eco-network while ensuring an adequate living areas. (5) In the study areas, users intervened greatly. As a result, a blockage was created preventing the normal growth of plants and non-indigenous plants were introduced. The purpose of this research was to study the effects of the feeding of dietary citrus byproducts on the physicochemical properties and palatability of Hanwoo rump (HR). The samples for experimental samples consisted of the HR not fed without citrus byproducts pulp (CBP-0) and the HR rump fed with citrus byproducts pulp during the fattening period (CBP-1). The control (CBP-0) HR rump was fed by general practical feeding (roughages and concentrates were fed separately), while the CBP-1 was fed in the same manners as CBP-0 until 17 months but with citrus byproducts then fed fer the next 10 months. There were no significant differences in the $L^*$ (tightness), $a^*$ (redness) and $b^*$ (yellowness) of the HR between the CBP-0 and CBP-1 fed groups. There were no significant differences in the pH, VBN content and EDA between the samples, but the TBARS value of the CBP-1 fed group was lower than that of the CBP-0 fed group (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in the water holding capacity, freezing loss, thawing loss, boiling and roasting logs between the CBP-0 and CBP-1 fed groups. There were no significant differences in the hardness, cohesiveness, chewiness and shear force between the samples, but the springiness of the CBP-1 fed group was higher than that of the CBP-0 fed group (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in the sensory scores for the roasted beef between the CBP-0 and CBP-1 fed groups. There were no significant differences in the taste, flavor, juiciness and palatability of roasted beef the between samples, but the tenderness of the CBP-1 fed group was superior to that of the CBP-0 fed group.

The effects of 0.01%(w/v) chitosan-ascorbate(CA) and 10 ppm morea on the number of total microbes, Escherichia coli levels, and growth of food poisoning bacteria in dombaeki during storage at $10^{\circ}C$ over 6 days were investigated. Total microbes in meat, cartilage, and skin of untreated samples increased by 4.24, 3.81, and 2.20 logs compared to the zero timepoint, respectively, but, in CA-treated samples, counts fell by 2.66, 2.37, and 1.24 logs. Total microbial levels in morea-treated meat, cartilage, and skin showed similar tendencies but the effects were slightly less than seen in CA-treated samples. E. coli numbers in CA-treated meat, cartilage, and skin stored for 6 days decreased by 1.69, 1.25, and 1.52 logs respectively, compared with control samples. Morea-treated samples showed similar falls, but the effects were again slightly less than seen after CA-treatment. Both Salmonella and Vibrio parahaemolyticus were detected in untreated meat stored for 3 or 6 days. Food poisoning bacteria were found in both untreated and morea-treated samples stored over 6 days. However, no such bacteria were detected in CA-treated samples. Also, CA-treated meat, cartilage, and skin showed low degrees of degeneration. Thus, CA treatment enhanced shelf-life and dombaeki quality by inhibiting microorganism growth and tissue breakdown during storage.
The purpose of this study is to develop a meditation application to promote home practice in a meditation-based intervention program and test its effects. In most cases, meditation-based intervention programs put an emphasis on home practice, which means it is an important matter to increase motivation for home practice and encourage people to do home practice more. The investigator administered an eight-week Korean Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (K-MBSR) program to college students participating in a liberal arts course at A University. While the experiment group (N = 22) received a meditation application, the comparison group (N = 19) received no meditation application. The amount of home practice was measured based on the practice logs kept by the participants. The difference in psychological effects between the groups was checked by measuring mindfulness, subfactors (noticing and return to body) of body awareness, life satisfaction, acceptance action, and sleep quality before and after the experiment. The findings show that the experiment group recorded significantly greater amounts of home practice than the comparison group. As for the effects of meditation, the experiment group recorded higher points in mindfulness, body awareness, life satisfaction, acceptance action, and sleep quality than the comparison group. These findings demonstrate that a meditation application can be useful as a means of assistance to promote the effects of a meditation-based intervention program. The study also discussed proposals for a follow-up study.
A gamma irradiation process was applied to prolong the shelf-life of grapes and changes in microbiological, physicochemical, nutritional, and sensory characteristics were investigated during 6 weeks of post-irradiation storage at $4^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$. Physiochemical characteristics of grapes such as total sugar content, pH, titratable acidity, and anthocyanine content, were stable after 1 kGy of irradiation, a dose recommended by CODEX for fruits and vegetables. The viable cell counts of contaminating microorganisms were reduced 1-2 logs by this radiation dose. After 6 weeks of storage at $4^{\circ}C$ the microbiological quality of irradiated grapes was stable, but all non-irradiated grapes had deteriorated. Whether or not grapes were irradiated, weight loss rapidly increased after 2 weeks of storage at $25^{\circ}C$, whereas weight loss was delayed by storage at $4^{\circ}C$. Immediately after gamma irradiation, the sensory evaluation results did not differ between samples, and the sensory quality of the irradiated grapes remained acceptable for over 6 weeks of storage at $4^{\circ}C$. The results suggest that 1 kGy of gamma irradiation does not detrimentally affect the nutritional or physical characteristics of grapes, especially when cold storage follows radiation treatment. In conclusion, a combination of gamma irradiation and cold storage prolonged the shelf-life of grapes by 6 weeks.
This study was conducted to predict the tractive resistance for tree length logs being skidded by ground based logging machine. The mathematical models for predicting the tractive resistance of tree length log have been developed. The tractive resistance is expressed as a function of log weight, skidding coefficient, and ground gradient. The skidding coefficients for four species of Korean pine, Japanese larch, mongolian oak, and cork oak were determined under laboratory condition using universal testing machine and small soil bin, Three different tractive resistance models were applied to four species and compared with each other. The ratios (T/Wt) of skidding-line tensions to the skidding log weight increased linearly with increment in ground gradient. Semi-ground skidding generally required smaller tensions than ground skidding under given condition. Results of this study can be utilized as basic information for logging machine selection and power requirement of skidding winch.
