여대생의 골밀도와 영향 요인에 관한 연구 (Bone Mineral Density and Factors Affecting in Female College Students)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to assess the relationships among bone mineral density, dietary habits, life styles and anthropometric measurements in young women. Subjects included 229 female college students in Seoul and Kyunggi province. Method: The subjects were asked about dietary habits and life styles using questionnaire. A sampel of 229 young women was assessed anthropometric measurements and bone mineral density on calcaneous using quantitative ultrasound. Result: The percentages of the osteoporosis(T-score<-2.5), osteopenia(-2.5${\leq}$T-score<-1.0), and normal(T-score${\geq}$-1.0) groups were 1.75%, 13.53% and 84.71%, respectively. Weight, soft lean mass, and BMI were positively related with T-score and Z-score. But height was negative related with SOS(Speed of sounds). Conclusion: This study confirmed that one of the most effective ways to minimize bone mineral density less in young women is to maintain an adequate body weight, soft lean mass, and BMI. And the young women were recommended do not one-side eating, daily intakes of milk products, perform daily physical exercise, and do not drink coke or soft drinks for the bone health.

전북지역 여자 대학생의 거주 형태에 따른 체중 인식, 생활 습관과 식품섭취빈도 비교 연구 (A Study o f the Body Weight Perception, Living Habits and Food Intake Frequency by Residence Type in Female College Students of Chenbuk Area)

  • This study aims at examining perception, life style and food habits by residence type in female college students. The data analysis were conducted by a body fat analyzer and questionnaire survey. The subjects were 230 female college students divided into three groups: home-living group, dormitory group, and self-boarding group. The age of the subjects was 20.3~21.7 years old. Among the subjects, 46.1% were home-living group, 27.4% dormitory group, and 26.5% self-boarding group. There was no significant satisfaction of body weight by residence type. Their exercise frequency were not significant by the groups. The exercise time per day was much in home-living group than dormitory group, and self-boarding group(p<0.05). The meal eating time was regular in dormitory group than in home-living group and self-boarding group at p<0.05. 'Frequency of much food intake', 'frequency of restaurant meal', and 'saltness' were significant by the groups at p<0.05 respectively. Breakfast frequency was significant different by the groups at p<0.05. Intakes frequency of cereals in breakfast, meats in breakfast, vegetables in breakfast was different by the groups at p<0.05.

농촌주민의 적정음주를 위한 보건교육 전략 (Health Education Strategies for Adoption of Moderate Drinking Habits among Rural Residents)

  • This study, based on stages of behavioral change, was aimed at suggesting strategies for the adoption of moderate drinking habits for community-based health education designed to help rural people. An interview survey was conducted during the period from March 4 to April 5, 2002 by sampling 467 rural people living in 6 villages covered by a public healthcare clinic. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. The perceived non-moderate drinkers were less prepared for behavioral change. 2. The heavier drinking habits were ‘drinking alone’, ‘meals accompanied by drinking’ and ‘drinking twice or more at a time’. The agricultural off-season and the custom of brewing liquor at home were negative environmental factors for moderate drinking. 3. The predisposing factors affecting moderate drinking were recognition of health, expectation of the drinking effect, etiquette encouraging overdrinking and control of drinking. The reinforcing factors were stress from ordinary life and perception of being loved. The enabling factor was accessibility to the public healthcare clinic. 4. Rural residents are less motivated to participate in health education for moderate drinking. Based on the above findings, health education strategies for each stage can be suggested as follows: 1) Pre-contemplation stage: improvement of perception, motivation, sharing of experiences, and reawakening. 2) Contemplation/preparation stag e: measurement of value, departure from the inertia against a change, formation of a habit, and reinforcement of the behavior. 3) Action/maintenance stage: creation of a social atmosphere, encouragement of participation, change of life style, and improvement of environment.

영.유아의 연령과 성별에 따른 식행동과 식품 기호도에 관한 연구 (Study of Eating Behavior and Food Preference in Young Children: Differences by Age and Gender)

  • The primary object of this study was to examine both preferences in a variety of foods and snacks and the eating habits among young children (aged 13 months through 50 months old). In addition, this study examined whether there would be significant differences in the preferences and eating habits by of young children of different ages and gender of young children. This study included 193 infants (85 boys, 108 girls) of aged 13 through 50 months of old who were enrolled in early childhood education and care settings in Seoul and Gyunggi Province. The information regarding food and snack preferences among young children were gathered through surveys filled out by their mothers and the children's overall eating habits were assessed by their teachers. The main results of this study were as follows. Overall, there were some patterns in eating bere asss and food preferences in foods and snacks among young children. There were no significant differences in both eating bere asss and food preferences by gender of young children. But, however, there were significant differences in food (p<0.001) and snack preferences (p<0.001) by of children of different ages of young children.

영유아의 식행동, 발달 수준 그리고 어머니의 영양 태도 및 영양 지식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eating Behavior, Developmental Outcomes of Young Children, and Nutritional Attitude and Knowledge Levels of Mothers)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the eating habit characteristic and developmental outcomes of young children (ages 24 months through 42 months) as well as their mothers' nutritional attitudes and maternal levels of nutrition knowledge. The study also analyzed relationships among the children's eating habits and developmental outcomes and the mothers' nutritional attitudes and nutrition knowledge levels. The subjects included 164 young children who were enrolled in early childhood education and care settings in Seoul and Gyunggi province. The main results were as follows. There were significant correlations among the young children's eating habits and developmental outcomes, specifically between their attitudes towards meals and fine motor skills, communication, social-emotional aspects, and cognitive areas (p<0.01). In addition, there were significant correlations among the young children's eating habits, the mothers' nutritional attitudes and their nutrition knowledge levels (p<0.01).

초등학교 아동의 비만 스트레스와 식행동 및 식습관에 대한 연구 (Obesity Stress, Eating Behavior and Eating Habits of Elementary School Students)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the influence of obesity stress on the eating behavior of elementary school students. Using a questionnaire, 300 students in the sixth grade from 2 schools in Kyunggi-do were surveyed (Boys: N=145, Girls: N=155). Data analysis was managed by SPSS software (version 13.0). The link between obesity stress and eating habits or behaviors was dependent on physical discomfort. There was also a large group of students experienced irregularity in their meal times during the day. Furthermore, there were significant differences in mealtime among boys under psychic stress caused by obesity. In the case of dairy intake during breakfast, the significant signs of obesity stress for were physical discomfort for boys and psychic stress for the girls. It was found for both boys and girls that more frequent midnight snacking decreased the efforts to overcome obesity stress. Therefore, a professional nutrition program that can educate school children must be implemented both in school and at home. In addition to overweight or obesity children, normal weight and underweight children can also benefit from this program that includes health counseling for weight and eating behaviors.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the eating habits, self-perception of body image, and weight control behavior in Korean adolescents by gender. Data pertaining to 70,809 subjects(male 37,090, female 33,719) were obtained from the sixth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey(2010). The rate of skipping breakfast was 42.5% in male, and 45.8% in female students. The intake frequency of vegetable, milk, soda, fast food, and instant noddles was higher in male than female students. Moreover, 33% of male and 31.9% of female students considered themselves to be somewhat or very obese. Notably, 2.3% of underweight students considered themselves to be obese. Weight control measures were practiced in 44.6% of male, and 54.6% of female students. Meal restrictions were used more frequently to control weight by females, while exercise was used more by males. The perceived stress level was higher in female than male students, especially that due to appearance. Therefore, integrated and personalized high school nutrition programs according to gender should be implemented to establish proper body image perception and eating habits, as well as to develop selfesteem.

의복착용 습관이 추위적응 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Clothing Habits on Cold Acclimatization)

  • The subjects wearing cool clothing (C group) or warm clothing (W stoup) in daily life from September to February of the following year were tested to examine whether cold acclimatization takes place by clothing habits. Subjects rested at 25$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, then were exposed to 15$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 50$\pm$5% R.H. for 90 min in September, November, December, and February. Rectal temperature (Tre) of C group after 90 min cold exposure did not drop below the Tre in $25^{\circ}C$ throughout the study. W group's Tre, however, dropped below the temperature in 25t from December. Shivering stopped after December in C group while W group continued to show it for the whole study. In resting, C group showed higher heat production than W group in February, and the rate of increase in heat production during cold exposure was smaller in C group than W group in February. C group showed less cold sensation than W group in the same coldness. These results suggest that the level of cold acclimatization may be improved by the habits wearing less clothes in daily life.

부천 지역 고등학생의 식생활 관리자에 따른 영양 지식, 식생활 태도 및 식습관 연구 (A Study on the Nutrition Knowledge, Attitude on Dietary Life and Dietary Habits by Meal Manager of High School Students in Bucheon Area)

  • 본 연구는 고등학생들의 영양 지식과 식생활 태도 및 식습관을 파악하기 위하여 부천 지역 7개교의 남녀 고등학생 281명을 대상으로 영양 지식 및 식생활 태도 및 식습관에 대한 내용과 식생활 관리자와 BMI지수를 파악하여 각각의 차이와 상관관계를 조사하였다. 분석결과, 식생활 습관에 가장 영향을 미치는 집단은 부모였고, 다음으로는 친구들 집단으로 나타났으며, 영양 지식의 정도는 유의수준 이내에서 여성집단이 남성보다 높게 나타났다. 식생활 관리자에 따른 영양 지식 및 식생활 태도 차이검증결과, 유의적인 차이를 보여 식생활 관리자가 어머니인 경우가 영양 지식이 가장 높게 나타났으며(p<0.01), 식생활 관리자가 어머니인 경우에 가장 규칙적인 식사를 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 식생활 관리자에 따른 차이 검증 결과 식생활 관리자가 아버지인 경우에 유의하게 높은 수준으로 식생활 태도로 간식을 가장 선호하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며(p<0.001), 이들 집단은 또한 외식을 선호하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상관관계 분석결과 유의수준 이내에서 조사대상자의 영양 지식과 식생활 태도 간에 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타나, 영양 지식 점수가 높은 학생들이 그렇지 않은 학생들에 비해 비교적 규칙적인 식사를 하며, 과식 및 폭식을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

중등도 이상 비만아동의 영양소 섭취, 영양지식, 식습관 및 생활태도 조사 (Nutrient Intakes, Nutritional Knowledge, Food Habits, and Lifestyle Behaviors of Obese Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrient intakes, nutritional knowledge, food habits, and lifestyle behaviors of moderately or severely obese children living in the Kyonggi-do area. The subjects in this study were 37 obese children with an obesity index higher than 130% in the forth to sixth grades of elementary school. Anthropometric measurements, 24-hour recall of dietary intakes, and a survey on nutritional knowledge, food habits, and lifestyles behavior were conducted in the 37 obese children (25 boys and 12 girls). The average age, body weight, BMI, and R$\ddot{o}$hrer Index were 12.4 years, 68.6 kg, $29.6kg/m^2$, and 194.9 in boys and 12.7 years, 65.7 kg, $29.8kg/m^2$, and 201.8 in girls, respectively. The percentage of correct answers on nutritional knowledge and nutritional attitude score/max score were 85.8% and 23.0/50 in boys and 87.0% and 17.5/50 in girls, respectively. Except for calcium (85.3%) in girls and calcium (62.7%) and folic acid (83.3%) in boys, the average daily nutrient intakes percentages of nutrients were greater than the DRIs values (107.9~327.3% in boys and 103.0~416.0% in girls). This study showed the existence of some problems associated with obesity, such as higher frequency of skipping breakfast, irregular meal times, unbalanced diet, lack of intake of some nutrients, low nutritional attitude, lack of physical activity, and time management in obese children. These results suggest that a systematic education program including nutritional education on balanced diet, good eating habits and behaviors, and importance of eating breakfast and meal regularity must be emphasized to improve nutrient intakes and food habits in obese children. Obese children also require a more concentrated program that includes physical activity, weight reduction, and weight maintenance strategies to improve their life habits.
