본 연구는 한국 문헌정보학 교육과정의 전문화를 위하여 사서직 취업분야별 교과과정의 개선을 위한 기초 연구이다. 연구 목적 달성을 위해 직무 관련 교과목 운영에 관하여 국내와 북미 대학을 비교 분석하였다. 분석 대상에서 취업분야는 대학도서관, 공공도서관, 전문도서관에 한하였다. 국내 분석 자료는 사서대상 설문분석, 기 도출된 관종별 직무분석자료를 바탕으로 현장사서 측면에서 도출된 핵심과목과, 국내 3개 대학의 홈페이지에 제시된 직업별 진출을 위한 교과과정이었다. 국외 분석 자료는 미국과 캐나다의 6개국의 주요대학의 홈페이지에서 제공하고 있는 진출 분야별(Career Path) 교육과정이었다. 연구 결과, 조사된 국내외 교과과정 자료를 통해 교육계의 시각을 반영한 사서직 진로별 교과목이 관종별로 비교 분석되었다.

본 연구는 지역 산업체에서 요구하는 역량중심 인재양성과 학생들의 학습의 질 향상 등 글로벌화에 따른 대 내외 환경변화에 적응할 수 있는 고등전문직업인 양성을 위한 NCS 기반 교육과정 개발과 개선을 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 교육과정을 운영한 후 사전/사후, 진단평가를 통해 교육성과를 측정하였으며 그 결과 NCS를 적용한 교과목은 교육성과가 있었던 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 교육성과와 운영에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 문헌정보학 전공 교과목의 NCS 적용에 있어 향후 개선방향을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 도서관 및 관련 업체의 이해관계자나 근로자, 교육기관 및 훈련 기관 관계자 및 학생, 또 자격심사 관련자들이 국가직무능력표준을 적극적으로 활용하고 또 수정 보완할 사안에 대한 다양한 피드백을 받아 차후 더욱 개선된 국가직무능력표준을 적용하고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다.

최근 도서관 이용자들을 위한 정보활용교육에 대해 깊은 관심을 보이고 있는 것이 국내외의 현실이다. 그러나 도서관에서 근무할 사서를 길러내는 우리나라의 문헌정보학 교육과정을 살펴보면 정보활용교육을 할 수 있는 역량을 키우도록 개설된 교과는 많지 않다. 이 상황은 실제 사서들로 하여금 도서관 현장에서 정보활용교육 준비에 어려움, 교육에의 부담감, 타 업무와의 조율 등의 문제를 야기 시켜 왔다. 이 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 국내 문헌정보학 학부과정에 "정보이용자교육론"을 독립된 교과목으로 개설할 것을 제안하며, 실제적으로 본보기로 삼을 수 있도록 교과과정 모형을 개발하고 이것을 실제 적용할 경우 수업에서 사용할 수 있도록 교수요목의 예를 제시하였다.

This study compare and analyzes recent school library standards in advanced countries including Britain, United States and Japan. The examination is based on the changing process of standards and development of school library in the each countries. To Suggest the model of reasonable standard for the activation of school library in Korea, the study has identified the common elements ; staff, material, environments, management and cooperative system, and learning skill with curriculum of school library standards showed in the each of advanced countries.

Recently, the Ministry of Education is striving to move education and school libraries toward the information age and to create an atmosphere open education. School libraries need to be furnished with lots of useful materials for the curriculum of open education. School libraries need to be furnished with lots of useful materials for the curriculum of open education. Therefore, school libraries should adopt the concepts and techniques of marketing. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Nonprofit organizations such as school libraries should adopt the concepts and techniques of marketing to solve the problems for the rational management of the system. 2. Marketing techniques can be adopted in the areas such as collection development, service fee, selection of the place of library, advertising, better library user organization etc. 3. School libraries should be total educational information centers to realize educational goal and the curricular. 4. Procedures for marketing strategies for school libraries are embodied in mission statement, environmental analysis, marketing audit, marketing mix, marketing segmentation, evaluation methods etc. 5. The 4 "Ps", product, price, place, promotion make up the marketing mix for school libraries.libraries.

This research has investigated the perceptions of subject specialization services and the opinions of students majoring in library and information science preparing for librarianship, librarians operating in the field, and library directors on the status and ways of nurturing subject specialization for librarians, among others. To this end, based on the results of previous research and the survey questionnaire analysis, we have presented a policy to train subject librarians. First, we have proposed a plan for systematizing the current educational system within the department of library and information science. We have also suggested ways to secure subject expertise based on curriculum management, minor programs, multi-major programs, and interdisciplinary major programs based on the standard curriculum model. Second, we have presented a subject specialization educational system for field librarians, and further suggested details for the development of an educational program that can help build subject expertise and the operation of educational methods as well as the personnel in charge of implementing the educational programs. Third, we have proposed institutionalization of the qualifications of the subject librarian where the qualification requirements have been organized considering academic background, major program, library career, and career experience in the subject specialization service, further suggesting the implementation and maintenance of the system.

사서직의 전문성에 대한 고민은 오랫동안 지속되고 있으며 최근에는 교육과정 및 자격제도의 개선을 통해 전문성을 확보하려는 논의도 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 사서직의 전문성 확보를 위해 교과과정을 개편하고 전문성 평가 제도를 도입하는 등의 구체적이고 체계적인 움직임이 이루어지고 있는 일본 사례에 주목하여 우리에게 주는 시사점을 찾으려하였다. 첫째, 일본의 사서관련 자격제도와 교육제도에 대해 분석하였다. 둘째, 전문성 확보를 위한 일본의 도서관정보학 분야의 연구결과와 도서관 현장의 요구를 정리하였다. 셋째, 이러한 연구결과와 현장의 요구를 바탕으로 최근에 변화된 사서교육과정과 전문성 평가 제도에 대해 구체적으로 살펴보고 장 단점에 대해 논의하였다.

This study is to evaluate the economies of scale of the public libraries in metropolitan cities. The results of the regression analysis confirm that for all samples of libraries there is diseconomies of scale in library operations (${\Sigma}b_{n}$≒6.14∼10.91). Therefore, all the types of public libraries should be improve productivity by user-based collection development, increasing circulation turnover rate, activation of in-library use, strengthening mobile library services, rational planning of services area, development of reading programs connected with the curriculum, a new branch library plans, etc.

본 연구는 사회구조의 변화 및 새로운 도서관 서비스의 출현에 대한 대응기제로서 정신보건사서라는 전문 인력 양성 교육과정을 개발하여 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 문헌 조사를 통해 독서치료의 특징, 정신보건사서의 역할, 자격요건과 양성제도를 살펴보고, 이에 따른 계속 교육의 필요성과 실제 교육과정 개발 시 고려해야 할 일련의 단계를 고찰하였다. 나아가 정신보건사서 양성을 위하여 문헌정보학과 교과목에 독서치료 영역에 해당하는 교과목을 개설하고, 향후 교과과정 편성에 있어서 주제전문화를 강화하기 위한 방안의 필요성, 그리고 우리나라 현실에서 정신보건사서의 양성을 위한 바람직한 방안으로 문헌정보학과 대학원에 '정신보건사서' 과정을 설치할 것을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 주제전문사서의 자질 개발과 확충을 위한 지침으로서, 주제전문사서의 역할 확립과 우리나라 도서관 현장과 학계의 당면 문제를 해결할 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하게 될 것이다.

지식정보사회에서는 다양한 분야를 널리 아는 것보다 특정 분야에 특성화된 전문가를 원하며 그러한 전문가가 높이 평가되고 있다. 따라서 특성화된 전문가를 양성하기 위해 교육목표와 교육방향을 설계하는 대학 및 학과들이 늘어가고 있는 추세이다. 문헌정보학 교육과정도 대학의 목적을 달성할 수 있고 도서관 현장의 요구에 부응할 뿐만 아니라 현재의 대학 자원과 환경을 바탕으로 개설되어야 할 것이다. 정책과 자원과 환경은 대학마다 다르므로 각 대학의 특성에 맞게 특성화된 교육과정을 개발할 필요가 있다. 즉 표준화된 교과과정이 아닌 특성화된 교과과정의 운영과 정책이 필요하다고 본다. 이에 본 연구에서는 특정 대학의 처한 환경과 상황을 고려하여 교과과정을 운영하는 특성화된 교육 프로그램을 제안하고 있으며 정보전문가로서의 보다 전문화되고 특성화된 자질을 갖춘 전문가를 양성하고자 한다.
