Sound Art (Sonic Art) is a branch of contemporary art that has been practiced dominantly in Europe and the Americas since the mid-20th century; and in Korea, it tends to be regarded as a multiple art field or as a subgenre of contemporary music or media art. Since the 2000s, some leading universities in North America and Europe have been opened sound art majors, producing talented people who specialize in this field or work as practical artists, yet it is still considered a non-mainstream art field. It is difficult to find schools that have opened sound arts as their major program in domestic universities. Along with the introduction of a liberal arts curriculum model and teaching methods used in the <Sound Art of Modern Society> course operated in a four-year university in South Korea, this paper discusses the possibility of using sound art as a main subject in liberal arts learning in higher education as a creative fusion liberal arts subject.

The purpose of this study is to illustrate Richard Henry Tawney's idea of adult education among traditions of workers' education movement. The workers' education movement can be categorized into two streams. One tradition regards as the workers' education as a part of liberal education. The other tradition regards as it as a tool for social transformation. The former, which emphasizes the importance of liberal education in workers' education, had been developed in connection with the University Extension in England, and had a practical influence through the 'Workers' Educational Association(WEA)' organized by Mansbridge and other intellectuals. The latter, which emphasizes the social transformational function of education, conducted education in a form that is not clearly distinguished from propaganda, through the 'National Council of Labour College(NCLC)'. Tawney demonstrates the idea of adult education that synthesizes these two traditions, and this synthesization is related to his idea on equality. Tawney pursued socialism through democratic and non-violent way. He thought that adult education could contribute to the construction of socialism while at the same time conducting adult education based on liberal education. In other words, adult education based on liberal education, through rational understanding and discussion of the world, can contribute to social transformation. Tawney's idea of adult education provides practical implications for educationalists and educators who want progressive social change, and theoretically enriches educational research on the relationship between social transformation and education.

Education emphasizes problem-solving skills based on convergent thinking power in an era of rising uncertainty and rapid progress. This paper proactively designed e-Learning team teaching convergence liberal arts courses for prospective teachers by these social needs. It analyzed the empirical effects on the operation of the subjects to foster future talent who can converge and apply knowledge in various fields. The curriculum consisted of professors of mathematics, practical Arts, computer, and education, and was operated to convey convergent knowledge of information technology and humanities, and consisted of 15 liberal arts courses at J University. Besides, textbooks and teaching materials were also developed by the faculty. As a result of the primary research, prospective teachers who took the course generally showed high satisfaction with the class, especially for the faculty. The students' overall convergent thinking ability has increased to a statistically significant level (p<.01), and the students' major has been found to be irrelevant. On the other hand, it can be seen that communication, content convergence, and caring factors, excluding creativity factor, have all risen to a significant level.

In this paper, we use the convexity of distance function between geodesics in a singular Hadamard space to generalize Hadamard-Cartan theorem for 2-dimensional metric spaces. We also determine a neighborhood of a closed geodesic where no other closed geodesic exists in a complete space of nonpositive curvature.

The purpose of this study is to identify the value of the liberal arts physical education class that contribute to the future wellness life. For this study, the records of the participants in the study were analyzed in nine participants who participated in the liberal arts physical education class of Seoul * University in 2019 during the first semester. The results of this study are as follows. First, students' interest in health increased through the liberal arts physical education class, and students set their life expectancy and confirmed diseases that are obstacles to living happily. And they became aware of the importance of health. Second, students' interest in health increased and they performed behaviors for health. Students reflected on their current life, reflected on bad lifestyles, and confirmed the importance of regular exercise and desirable eating for health. Third, students experienced positive changes in life by performing life movement and healthy life. Students performed regular exercises for health, improved eating habits, and practiced healthy lifestyles. By practicing these actions, these students laid the foundation for future wellness life. In the end, students have laid the foundation for healthy and happy life through the liberal arts physical education class. Therefore, it is thought that the liberal arts physical education class needs to be more activated in order to pursue wellness life for future health and happiness.

Today, the media environment has changed dramatically with the development of Internet transmission technology, computer performance, and various media production technologies. In particular, video content is widely used every day through mobile device or computer connected to the Internet. In addition, the ability to produce video content today is more important than ever, as the use of video content is also increasing in the area of information delivery and communication over the Internet. In this study, it was developed a liberal education curriculum in universities for the production of video content. The developed curriculum was composed of a combination of an online curriculum for theory and an offline curriculum for practicum. In the online curriculum, a 54 DOOR contents were developed to allow students to learn the theoretical knowledge and basic making techniques related to the production of video content. In an offline 15-week practicum curriculum, it covered the practical training contents of video content production that should be acquired every week. This developed liberal education curriculum aims to give non-major students in universities the opportunity to learn the technology of producing video content and to foster the ability to communicate in the media environment by using the video content produced.

The aim of this study is to establish an object of environmental education in liberal arts, and to develop a teaming program and search for the most effective environmental teaching method. At first this study analyzed the current situations and problems of the present environmental education in the liberal arts. As a result of this analysis, I found that, most of environmental educations have been conducted mainly by an approach of natural science, inevitably they should have limits in which students can't have holistic view in solve the environmental problem. Due to the fact that, many students were attending lectures, teaching methods were limited in the forms lecture and video tapes. As I applied educational programs with various teaching methods for students in order to change cognition and value toward environment, I found that there was no significant difference of cognition even after applying the programs. This may be interpreted as, most students already had very sound and sustainable environmental view. But some programs with teaching method using role play, debate, cyber-debate lead students to have interest in environments, thus actively participating in the class. These methods, taking into consideration, the hundreds of enrolled students, seem to pose a problem in actual application. The most important matter is, how to develop a cognition and value toward environment into environmental behavior. Therefore, in the future, aim is to study what determines the factors for causing environmental behavior from a cognition and value of the environment, and a development of programs in this regard will be necessary.

Many South Korean universities highly value and place much investment on the development of students' characteristics as their core competency, offering corresponding educational initiatives and programs. The present study specifically evaluated the level of characteristic competency among freshmen at C University, in which characteristic development is at the central to the institution's core competency. The researchers conducted the study to utilize the findings to inform the design of liberal arts courses and extracurricular programs. The study recruited 210 freshmen at C University in Changwon, South Korea. To ensure anonymity of the respondents, an online questionnaire was administered during the data collection period (i.e., between December 5th and 7th, 2022) with a total of 201 faithful responses finally analyzed. The results showed an average characteristic competency level of 4.21 out of 5 among the freshman participants. Notably, the highest score was ranked in the 'righteous domain' (4.27±0.66), whereas the 'behavioral domain' scored the lowest (4.08±0.77). These findings provide valuable insights for the development of educational programs that aim to promote characteristic competency among university students. The implications of the findings are further discussed.

The purpose of this study was to develop an AI liberal arts subject for pre-service teachers of all majors in elementary and middle school. To this end, the main areas of the AI curriculum, sub-themes for each week, and activities were specifically designed and verified through two rounds of Delphi by 13 experts. The AI liberal arts curriculum in this study consists of three areas. Then, detailed topics for each week were confirmed, and a total of 13 weeks were arranged according to the natural flow. It was intended to help teaching and learning by arranging learning activities based on the experiential learning model according to the learning content. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the development of various AI education subjects for pre-service teachers in elementary and secondary schools in the future.

This research has a purpose to help academic high school students to choose their own career by developing an examination that distinguishes between liberal arts and natural sciences. Besides an aptitude test, I identified the necessity of a tool for distinguishing liberal arts and natural sciences, using an examination tool that uses puzzles to distinguish liberal arts and natural sciences and conducted the first examination. On the basis of the result of the first examination I made the second examination test, and the algorithm. After conducting the second examination to a variety of target subjects, like academic high school students, university students, and graduate students through the second examination paper and algorithm for distinguishing liberal arts and natural sciences, competent results have been deducted.
