  • The ARS(Attitude Reference System) calculates an attitude of a vehicle using inertial angular rate sensors and acceleration sensors. The attitude error of ARS increases due to the integration of angular rate sensor output. To reduce the attitude error an acceleration of sensor is used similar to leveling method of INS(Inertial Navigation System). When an acceleration of vehicle is increased, it is difficult to calculate the attitude error using acceleration sensor output. In this paper the estimation method of acceleration due to the attitude error only is proposed. Two methods of the attitude calculation depending on vehicle dynamics and the integration method of these two methods are proposed. To verify its performance the monte carlo simulation is performed and shows that it bounds attitude error of ARS to reasonable level.

  • As the automic power plant is increased, load leveling energy storage system becomes more important. Pumped hydroelectric storage, used in the present, has too storage efficiency and difficulty in selecting site. But SMES(Superconducting Magnet Energy Storage) has high storage efficiency (90%), fast time response characteristics and ease of location. The general object of SMES with electric power system is the minimization overall production cost. This paper presents a method for the economic operation of SMES by Dynamic Programming.

  • This paper presents a method for evaluating the performance of a leaf spring suspension and an air spring suspension systems for trucks in terms of ride and handling. Leaf springs, which generally have non-linear progressive force-deflection characteristics, are modeled using beam and contact elements. The leaf spring analysis model shows good correlation with experimental results. Each component of an air spring suspension system, which is a single leaf, air spring, height control valve, compressor and linkages, is modeled appropriately. Non-linear characteristics of air spring are accounted for using the measured data, and pressure and volume relations for height control system is also considered. The wheel rate of the air suspension is taken lower but roll stiffness is taken higher than those of leaf springs to improve ride and handling performance, which is verified through driving simulations.

  • Compaction Grouting System, the method which makes ground compact by injection of low slump mortar, Is widely used for reinforcement of soft ground, restoration of structures happened differential settlement, underpinning and restoration of damaged dam core. The quantitive analysis of ground improvement for this method has not performed yet. So, design parameters about thls method must be studied through performance of CGS in various types of soil to make CGS adaptable widely. In this study PBT, SPT and field density test were performed for analysis of the characteristics of ground improvement and pressuremeter and inclinometer were installed for analysis of the characteristics of compaction in adjacent ground. In this paper, denoted much effects for filled ground that increasing of the bearing capacity, confirming the displacement of adjacent ground and the effective radius of injection.

  • This paper presents a new method of measuring the ground's gradient using LNS(land navigation system) navigation data. When a vehicle equipped with LNS arrives at any place, LNS provides its navigation data which contain the information on vehicle's motion. We developed some formulas which can explain correlation between the vehicle's motion and ground's gradient. The proposed method using those formulas is shown to be accurate and convenient.

  • The use of compaction grouting system(C.G.S) evolved in the 1950's to correct structural settlement of buildings. Over the almost 50 years, the technology has developed and is currently used in wide range of applications. Compaction Grouting, the injection of a very stiff 'zero-slump' mortar grout under relatively high pressure, displaces and compacts soils. It can effectively repair natural or man-made soil strength deficiencies in variety of soil formations. Major uses of Compaction Grouting include densifying loose soils or fill voids caused by sinkholes, poorly compacted fills, broken utilities, improper dewatering, or soft ground tunneling excavation. Other application include preventing liquefaction, re-leveling settled structures, and using compaction grout bulbs as structural elements of minipiles or underpinning. So, on the basis of the case history constructed in recent year, a study has been performed to analyze the basic mechanism of the Compaction Grouting and verify the effectiveness of the ground improvement.

  • In the composite deck system, beams and deck plates deflect during construction. This lens-shaped deflection may cause problems in the serviceability of a building. Therefore, it should be compensated to be level. Several methods for leveling of floor slab are available, such as (1) increasing stiffness of structural members, (2) propping floor system, (3) cambering beams, (4) pouring additional concrete. In this study, additional weight and volume of concrete for level compensation are examined for various size of floors.

  • Solar energy is rapidly being utilized to generate power in Europe and other countries, but the environmental effect of building and operating solar farms is not fully understood. The building of a solar park demands the removal of certain vegetation and the leveling of the land. Solar energy infrastructure may involve considerable landscape change, altering soil biological processes and influencing hydrologic, carbon and vegetative dynamics. To rebuild the solar PV facilities soils, inherent plant fields might require to be re-established. Within the scope of this research, we presented an analysis of the effects that were caused by the solar farm.

  • In this paper, a hydropneumatic modeling and dynamic analysis of a heavy truck semi-active cabin air suspension system is presented. Semi-active cabin air suspension system improves driver's ride comfort by controlling the damping characteristics in accordance with driving situation. So it can reduce vibration between truck frame and cabin. Semi-active cabin air suspension system is consist of air spring, leveling valve and CDC shock absorber, and full cabin system are mathematically modelled using AMESim software. Simulation results of components and full cabin system are compared with experimental data of components and test results of a cabin using 6 axis simulation table. It is found that the simulation results are in good agreements with test results, and the hydropneumatic model can be used well to predict dynamic characterics of heavy truck semi-active cabin air suspension system.

  • In this paper, a standard field generation method using a micro-TEM ceil is described and its measurement uncertainty is evaluated. The standard field generation system consists of an auto-leveling signal source, a micro-TEM cell operating up to 1.2 GHz, and a power measuring Instrument using a thermistor mount. Measurement results of a field strength key comparison (CCEM.RF-K20) for the field strength of 20 V/m at frequencies between 10 MHz and 1 GHz are presented for validating the standard field generation method.
