The Quality Evaluation of Magnoliae Flos and Anthrici Radix (신이와 전호의 품질 표준화 연구)

  • Quality evaluation of Magnoliae Flos and Anthrici Radix was studied to ensure their safety and efficacy, which was based on physico-chemical determination of the content of total ash, acid insoluble ash and diluted ethanol-soluble extract. In addition, quantitative analysis of magnolin and anthricin by HPLC suggested that the content of magnolin and anthricin in Magnoliae Flos and Anthrici Radix was $31.09{\pm}15.74%$ and $1.08{\pm}0.85%$.

  • Eight compounds were isolated from the roots of Asarum sieboldii and their structures were identified as $({\pm})$-car-3-ene-2,5-dione (1), (-)-asarinin (2), (-)-sesamin (3), eucarvone (4), methyleugenol (5), ${\gamma}-asarone$ (6), pellitorine (7) and asarinol A (8) by analysis of spectral data. Among them, (-)-asarinin (2) showed the most potent inhibitory effect on melanogenesis, with inhibition rate of 66%.

  • Due to the nature of semi-submergible drilling rig, various equipments are arranged in a limited space, and therefore the many types of outfitting holes passing through the hull structure are densely arranged and that is required the detailed structural strength evaluation in terms of ULS and FLS by class or client. Particularly, semi-submergible drilling rig has a variety of global load which affects the structure strength around holes compared to general commercial ship, and its response of stress is also complicated, so it is difficult to carry out the prediction design of structural strength evaluation and reinforcement. In this regard, this paper presents a case study on the evaluation of structural strength for the various holes and large openings of semi-submergible drilling rig conducted by our company, as well as an established hole verification procedure.

A Study of Care Workers Knowledge on Pressure Ulcer

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of knowledge of care workers working at long term care hospitals and nursing homes on pressure ulcer. A total of 81 care workers including 34 at long term care hospitals and 47 at nursing homes were surveyed. 24 questions were used to evaluate their degree of knowledge on pressure ulcer. Their knowledge on pressure ulcer scored 12.84 out of the total score of 24 points(SD=3.40), which was equal to 53.50 (SD=24.23) out of 100 points. Their knowledge on the prevention of pressure ulcer was highest among the subareas of evaluation. Their knowledge on pressure ulcer statistically significantly differed according to education on pressure ulcer(P<.05). A pressure ulcer is a skin disorder that may be prevented and cured. At this point when long term care facilities are rapidly increasing, care workers highlevel knowledge on and good management of pressure ulcer is very important. Practically educating them on pressure ulcer including the provision of recent, updated relevant knowledge will be necessary.

Three-Temperature Modeling of Carrier-Phonon Interactions in Thin GaAs Film Structures Irradiated by Picosecond Pulse Lasers

  • This article investigates numerically the carrier-phonon interactions in thin gallium arsenide (GaAs) film structures irradiated by subpicosecond laser pulses to figure out the role of several recombination processes on the energy transport during laser pulses and to examine the effects of laser fluences and pulses on non-equilibrium energy transfer characteristics in thin film structures. The self-consistent hydrodynamic equations derived from the Boltzmann transport equations are established for carriers and two different types of phonons, i.e., acoustic phonons and longitudinal optical (LO) phonons. From the results, it is found that the two-peak structure of carrier temperatures depends mainly on the pulse durations, laser fluences, and nonradiative recombination processes, two different phonons are in nonequilibrium state within such lagging times, and this lagging effect can be neglected for longer pulses. Finally, at the initial stage of laser irradiation, SRH recombination rates increases sufficiently because the abrupt increase in carrier number density no longer permits Auger recombination to be activated. For thin GaAs film structures, it is thus seen that Auger recombination is negligible even at high temperature during laser irradiation.

  • Unilateral hydrocephalus is an uncommon disease which may result from obstruction of the foramen of Monro. Congenital or acquired lesions obstructing this foramen have been reported. We present a case of prenatally diagnosed fetal unilateral hydrocephalus. Ventriculoperitoneal shunt operation was performed and following the procedure, ventricular size was decreased and patients neurological status was improved.

  • Currently, GPS data process software appears different results that according to user's skills or software. Also, lots of time and efforts are necessary for using GPS data process software to general user, not a specialist On the other band, on-line GPS data process service have a merit that can cony out GPS data process without technical efforts and time. In this study, permanent GPS site's observation data of NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) was processed by on-line GPS data process service, and utilization assessment of on-line GPS data process service was performed by comparing this result with notified coordinates by the NGII in order to analyze positional accuracy. 10 permanent GPS sites of NGII including Suwon which is registered in IGS(International GNSS Service) were selected and these GPS observation data was processed by AUSPOS and CSRS-PPP.

Effects of Various Kinds of Salt on the Quality and Storage Characteristics of Tteokgalbi

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of various kinds of salt on the quality and storage characteristics of tteokgalbi. The tteokgalbi was prepared using four types of salt: 1.5% purified salt (control, C), 1.5% five-year-old solar salt (FS), 1.5% Topan solar salt (TS), and 1.5% French Gu$\acute{e}$rande solar salt (GS). The moisture, crude lipid, crude ash, crude protein and calorie contents, water holding capacity, and cooking loss were not significantly different between control and all other treatments. As for the textural characteristics, the use of GS increased the hardness of the tteokgalbi. According to the sensory evaluation, the use of TS had the best score in springiness. Tteokgalbi made with TS and GS had the two highest scores in flavor and total acceptability. During 15 d of storage, the contents of 2-thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value, volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) and the total microbial counts increased, while the pH decreased. The TBA values of the tteokgalbi containing TS and GS were lower than that of C. Lightness (L) and yellowness (b) values decreased during storage, but redness (a) displayed no significant difference during storage. Overall, the best results, in terms of TBA value and sensory attributes, were obtained for the tteokgalbi containing TS and GS.

  • FBAR(Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator)는 높은 민감도와 실리콘기판을 활용한 집적화의 가능화 때문에 최근 부각되고 있는 바이오센서이다. 특히 AlN 압전층을 이용한 FBAR는 배향특성이 우수하고 높은 음향속도를 가지는 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 AlN의 Full Width at Half Maximum(FWHM)값이 $0.23^{\circ}$인 우수한 (002) 방향의 FBAR를 제작한 후 상부 전극위에 Anti-CEA와 CEA를 흡착하여 공진주파수의 변화를 조사하였다. 그 결과 Anti-CEA 흡착 후와 CEA 흡착 후 공진주파수의 변화는 각각 832.875KHz, 941.748KHz이였으며, 각각 3496 $Hz{\cdot}cm^2/ng$, 3482 $Hz{\cdot}cm^2/ng$의 높은 민감도를 확인하였다.

Numerical Analysis of Optical Damage in Dielectrics Irradiated by Ultra-Short Pulsed Lasers (극초단 펄스 레이저에 의한 절연체의 광학 손상 해석)

  • The present article reports extensive numerical results on the non-local characteristics of ultra-short pulsed laser-induced breakdowns of fused silica ($SiO_{2}$) by using the multivariate Fokker-Planck equation. The nonlocal type of multivariate Fokker-Planck equation is modeled on the basis of the Boltzmann transport formalism to describe the ultra-short pulsed laser-induced damage phenomena in the energy-position space, together with avalanche ionization, three-body recombination, and multiphoton ionization. Effects of electron avalanche, recombination, and multiphoton ionization on the electronic transport are examined. From the results, it is observed that the recombination becomes prominent and contributes to reduce substantially the rate of increase in electron number density when the electron density exceeds a certain threshold. With very intense laser irradiation, a strong absorption of laser energy takes place and an initially transparent solid is converted to a metallic state, well known as laser-induced breakdown. It is also found that full ionization is provided at intensities above threshold, all further laser energy is deposited within a thin skin depth.
