The advantage of the distance learning universities based on the 4th Industrial Revolution is that anyone can conveniently take lectures anytime, anywhere on the web. In addition, research has been actively conducted on the effect of light color and temperature control upon student performance during online classes. However, research on how the conditions of subjects, lighting colors, and music selection improve the degree of a student's concentration during online lectures has not been completed. To solve these problems in this paper, we have developed automatic analysis system SW for the weak subjects of learners by applying intelligent analysis algorithm, have proposed and simulated music therapy and art therapy. Moreover, It proposed in this paper an algorithm for an automatic analysis system, which shows the weak subjects of learners by adopting intelligence analysis algorithms. We also have presented and simulated a music therapy and art therapy algorithms, based on the blended learning, in order to increase students concentration during lecture.
This study attempted to determine the effects of a cooperative and cognitive group therapy compared to individual therapy in 24 aphasic subjects. Two dependent variables were measured overall language performance, functional communication skills. 18 subjects with different types and severity of aphasia participated in the group therapy. 6 aphasic subjects participated in the individual therapy and they functioned as a control group. The subjects were ranged from 27 to 59 years in age. The group therapy using the cooperative learning utilized the following procedures. First, 6 aphasics constituted 1 group where each subject peformed a task and they monitored one another. Second, 2 aphasics consisted 1 group and they cooperated to perform a task. Third, 3 groups with 2 aphasics in a group competed one another in a task where the 2 aphasics had to cooperated. Finally, the investigator gave the feedback to the group and she and the subjects discussed the overall procedures of the therapy. The above mentioned 2 tests were administered pre- and post-treatment. A repeated two-way ANOVA was performed for analysis. The results showed that the group therapy was more effective in improving overall language performance as compared to the individual therapy. And, the group therapy was more effective in increasing functional communication skills as compared to the individual therapy.
Theoretical framework of motor learning is used to enhance perceptual motor skill in physical therapy intervention, which can be subdivided into two main types-explicit and implicit. The purpose of this study was to examine whether stroke patients with unilateral brain damage learn implicitly a motor skill using the arm ipsilateral to the damaged hemisphere. Speculation then followed as to the formation of therapeutic plans and instructions provided to patients with stroke. 20 patients with stroke and 20 normal participants were recruited. All the subjects practiced serial reaction time tasks for 30 minutes a day and retention tests on the following day. The tasks and tests involved pressing the corresponding buttons to 4 colored circles presented on a computer screen as quickly and accurately as possible. Patients with stroke responded more slowly than controls. However, both groups showed decreased reaction time in the experimental and retention periods. Also, there was no significant difference between both groups regarding explicit knowledge of consecutive order. Therefore, patients with stoke had the ability to learn implicitly a perceptual motor skill. Prescriptive instruction using implicit and explicit feedback may be beneficial for motor skill learning in physical therapy intervention for patients with brain damage.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an e-Learning Program designed to enhance novice nurses's performance ability Method: The e-Learning program was designed for novice nurses before beginning to work in a hospital using a KMS(Knowledge Management System). This study was carried out from February 2006 to April 2007. The program had progressive steps including design, pilot test & modification, contents development, program application and evaluation. After the program design and pilot testing, the learner's satisfaction was analyzed. Result: The program site is http://kms.emc.ac.kr titled, 'Cyber Education Center'. The sixteen part course has been developed as follows: blood sugar test, skin test, insulin test 1, insulin test 2, blood culture, blood sampling, heat therapy, cold therapy, glycerin enema, preparation of operation, oxygen therapy, suction technique, transfusion, foley catheterization and aseptic technique. The overall learner's satisfaction score was 4.08 out of 5 points. Conclusion: E-Learning could be useful for education and nursing work. This method may be effective for clinical nurses.
This study developed radiation therapy contents based on virtual reality technology and applied them to radiation students. A survey was conducted to analyze the relationship between learning effects and learning satisfaction to students who used virtual reality education videos to analyze their learning performance. 71 students radiology department were classified into two groups one that experienced virtual reality and the other that did not experienced virtual reality. We surveyed between the two groups analyzed self-directed learning, self-learning efficacy and learning satisfaction. As a result, the comparison between the two groups showed no difference between self-directed learning and self-learning efficacy. But the learning satisfaction was significant from 2.64±0.83 to 3.20±0.88 in the problem solving process for groups applying virtual reality contents. Therefore, learning satisfaction has improved experienced group virtual reality content and the materials for virtual reality education can be applied more efficiently in non-face-to-face lectures.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the lecture method and physical activity level of Korean university students during the COVID-19 pandemic to determine their effect on the students' mental health, self-efficacy, and learning motivation. Methods : A total of 203 participants (53 male, 150 female) completed the study. An online survey was distributed through a social media platform between March 24 and April 7, 2021. Participants completed the international physical activity questionnaire-short form (IPAQ-SF), COVID-19 stress scale for Korean people (CSSK), the Korean version of the general health questionnaire (KGHQ-30), and self-efficacy and learning motivation scales. Results : Among the general characteristics of the study subjects, there were statistically significant differences in the IPAQ-SF, CSSK, KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation measures by sex. There were no significant differences in the degree of IPAQ-SF, CSSK, KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation among any of the lecture method and university area groups. The level of physical activity corresponded with significant differences in KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation, excluding CSSK. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between IPAQ and self-efficacy (r=.273, p<.001), IPAQ-SF and learning motivation (r=.201, p<.01), CSSK and KGHQ (r=.271, p<.001), self-efficacy and learning motivation measures (r=.506, p<.001). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between IPAQ-SF and KGHQ (r=-.203, p<.01) and between KGHQ and self-efficacy (r=-.558, p<.001). Conclusion : CSSK and KGHQ measures were significantly higher in female students than in male students. Therefore, it is important to consider sex as a protective factor in the mental health management of university students in the context of an infectious disease pandemic. The results of this study suggest that university students should continue to engage in physical activities, even during a pandemic, and that it is necessary to prepare health management to improve mental health in such situations.
Purpose: Implicit motor learning is the capacity to acquire skill through physical practice without conscious awareness of what elements of performance improved. This study investigated whether subacute stroke patients can implicitly learn a perceptual-motor task. Methods: We recruited 12 patients with subacute stroke and 12 age-matched controls. All participants performed a perceptual-motor task that involved pressing a button corresponding with colored circles (blue, green, yellow, red) on a computer screen. The task consists of 7 blocks composed of 10 repetitions for a repeating 12-element sequence (total 120 responses). Results: Both groups demonstrated significant improvement in acquisition performance. Reaction times deceased in both groups at similar rate within the sequential block trials (2-5 blocks), and reaction times increased at a similar rate when the task paradigm was transferred from the sequential block trial to the random block trial (5-6-7 blocks). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that patients with sub-actue stroke can implicitly learn a perceptual motor skill. Although explicit instructions should be used to focus the learner's attention rather than provide information about the task, the application of implicit motor learning strategies in the rehabilitation setting may be beneficial.
Purpose : The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of nap between therapeutic interventions on motor learning in patients with stroke. Method : Thirty stroke patients with hemiplegia were participated in this study. After the screening by questionnaire about nap time, the patients were assigned to nap or non-nap group. Therapeutic interventions for 30 min were provided two times per day for 5 days per week and the serial reaction time tasks were conducted 2 times before and after a nap per day for 3 days per week. Between the therapeutic interventions, a nap for 60~120 minutes was allowed to the nap group while non-nap group was not. Intervention programs were carried out during the total 15-day. Result : Compared with the non-nap group, the reaction-precision level of nap group was increased (p<.05) for the non-affected upper extremity in the serial reaction time tasks. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that nap between therapeutic interventions has positive effects on motor learning in patients with stroke.
Purpose : The objective of this study was to determine efficacy of sleep-dependent motor learning. Methods : This is a literature study with books and internet. We searched the PubMed, Science Direct, KISS and DBpia. Key words were Sleep-dependent, motor learning, RAM and LTP. Results : Procedural memory, like declarative memory, undergoes a slow, time-dependent period of consolidation. A process has recently been described wherein performance on some procedural task improves with the mere passage of time and has been termed "enhancement". Some studies have reported that the consolidation/enhancement of perceptual and motor skill is dependent on sleep. Specially, rapid-eye-movement(REM) sleep seems to benefit procedural aspects of memory. Conclusion : Motor learning is very important for CNS injury patients. And also distribution of practice sessions is important because REM sleep is to benefit procedural aspects of memory consolidation.
