This study analyzes the structural causal relationship among adult learners' characteristics, participatory motivation, methods of learning process by instructor, institutes satisfaction, and learning outcome. In addition, the study reviews the mechanism by which three different variables work as intermediates in the relationship between adult learners' characteristics and learning outcomes. The study subjects were 444 adult learners who participated in lifelong education, and the research hypothesis was verified through Structure Equation Modeling analysis. The results are as follows. First, the characteristics of adult learners affect learning outcomes, as well as the methods of learning process by instructor affects, participatory motivation and institutes satisfaction, and have a significantly positive(+) effect. Secondly, the methods of learning process by instructor affect institutes satisfaction, and the effect is significant. However, it does not influence participatory motivation. Moreover, it has a negative influence on learning outcomes. Additionally, participatory motivation has a significant effect on both learning outcomes and institutes satisfaction. Thirdly, when examining the ultimate intermediate between the characteristics of adult learners and their learning outcomes, institutes satisfaction was the optimal channel. These study results suggest not only the role of lifelong education institute, but also ways to improve academic outcomes of adult learners within the lifelong education field.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to determine the general characteristics of students in dental technology departments; the correlations among their immersion in learning, class satisfaction, and academic achievement; factors influencing online learning experience; ways to improve students' class satisfaction; and basic data for designing effective online courses. Methods: A total of 300 questionnaires were produced and distributed to dental technology students from September 29 through October 8, 2020. The outcome was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 25.0. A significance level of α=0.05 was used for reliable verification. Results: Immersion in learning, class satisfaction, and academic achievement were relatively high among students who studied on a regular basis, and class satisfaction and academic achievement were relatively high among students who studied with almost no interruption. Concerning the correlations between academic achievement, immersion in learning, and class satisfaction in online learning, the correlation between academic achievement and class satisfaction was the highest at r=0.862. Class satisfaction was the largest factor that influenced academic achievement, and the higher students' immersion in learning and class satisfaction were, the higher their academic achievement was. Conclusion: The research is a case study that investigated the general characteristics of dental technology department students and the correlations among their immersion in learning, class satisfaction, and academic achievement. The study outcome could be used in determining factors that influence online learning and designing effective online courses that improve learner satisfaction.
Assessment plays a vital role in outcome-based education (OBE). This article describes the characteristics of assessment and appropriate assessment instruments for measuring learning outcomes in OBE. Assessment in OBE needs to be formative, continuous, and frequent. Miller's pyramid is useful for selecting the appropriate assessment instruments to reflect a specific outcome; different methods can be applied to evaluate one outcome. Outcomes and competency mean that student must 'do'; therefore, performance tests are emphasized. Qualitative methods as well as quantitative methods are used to evaluate the outcomes of areas such as professionalism or ethics. An absolute criterion-based standard is usually applied to decide whether students pass or fail, but the decision should be based on gathering value judgments and reaching consensus. Active participation of faculty members and students in assessment is crucial.
Background: The increasing need to minimize animal testing has sparked interest in alternative methods with more humane, cost-effective, and time-saving attributes. In particular, in silico-based computational toxicology is gaining prominence. Adverse outcome pathway (AOP) is a biological map depicting toxicological mechanisms, composed of molecular initiating events (MIEs), key events (KEs), and adverse outcomes (AOs). To understand toxicological mechanisms, predictive models are essential for AOP components in computational toxicology, including molecular structures. Objectives: This study reviewed the literature and investigated previous research cases related to AOP and in silico methodologies. We describe the results obtained from the analysis, including predictive techniques and approaches that can be used for future in silico-based alternative methods to animal testing using AOP. Methods: We analyzed in silico methods and databases used in the literature to identify trends in research on in silico prediction models. Results: We reviewed 26 studies related to AOP and in silico methodologies. The ToxCast/Tox21 database was commonly used for toxicity studies, and MIE was the most frequently used predictive factor among the AOP components. Machine learning was most widely used among prediction techniques, and various in silico methods, such as deep learning, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics, were also utilized. Conclusions: We analyzed the current research trends regarding in silico-based alternative methods for animal testing using AOPs. Developing predictive techniques that reflect toxicological mechanisms will be essential to replace animal testing with in silico methods. In the future, since the applicability of various predictive techniques is increasing, it will be necessary to continue monitoring the trend of predictive techniques and in silico-based approaches.
A number of research studies focus on the efficacy of using such as scenario based learning. However, desirable methods have not been introduced to assess the scenario based learning. This article is to suggest a fuzzy logic based framework for scenario base learning in which more reasonable learning effects are measured. It can be solved uncertain problems of linguistic variables. Also, we suggest three measures of accuracy, comprehensibility and completeness in order to evaluate accurate effects of scenario based learning. This assessment provides the scenario to the learner in which the scenario is presented in an authentic context, and enable the learner to reach an outcome through an adequate sequence and choices. This approach enables the system to present new scenarios and outcomes based on what a user selects. In particular, the application of fuzzy logic in scenario based learning can be easily pursued certain successful path or wrong path all the way through to reach major outcome in real situation.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the variables that affect learning immersion, in real-time non-face-to-face classes. To this end, a survey was conducted from November 22, 2021 to December 5, 2021 for students with experience in zoom classes. Excluding incorrect questionnaire, 117 copies were analyzed using a structural equation model. The results show that 'interest' and 'interaction level' influenced 'learning immersion', and 'learning immersion' had a positive effect on 'learning outcome'. The contribution of this study is that it empirically analyzed variables affecting learning immersion in real-time non-face-to-face classes. In the follow-up study, it is necessary to verify variables that affect learning immersion in various platforms, including zoom.
This paper proposes learning modules as a kind of integrated instruction model for soft skills program outcomes to enable CEA. Learning modules consist of course learning objectives(outcomes) described in detail, learning content(elements), learning activities(teaching learning methods), evaluation methods, evaluation rubrics so that they can be evaluated based on the performance criteria of the program learning outcomes. The unit of time for the learning module is 50 minutes. If this learning module is applied, it is expected that the soft skill program outcomes can be evaluated in the technical course. As a result of the expert feasibility study, the positive answers were much higher than the negative answers in most of the questions about the composition of the learning module or the method of managing the class.

The recent medical education paradigm shift from teacher-centered to student-centered education, has led to a concentration on students' performance and competency. This means that a physician should be able to provide adequate health care in any real medical treatment situation. In order to reflect such a paradigm shift, The Catholic University of Korea School of Medicine launched a new curriculum in 2009 that emphasizes students' performance and competency-based education, known as "outcome-based education." In outcome-based education, the educational process is determined by the desired outcome, signifying the detailed competency that a graduating student should have. Thus, in outcome-based education, we should first determine the competency that results from adequate training and education, followed by specific teaching and learning strategies, methods, and assessment. This paper reviews how The Catholic University School of Medicine developed its new curriculum according to the development steps of outcome-based education.
This paper reviews the general education curriculum in engineering colleges which are accredited or prepare to be accredited in Korea. And it researches the relation of the learning outcome of general education and course assessment. Most of engineering colleges usually operate core curriculum. They provided engineering students few specific general education courses if anything. Engineering students evaluated the outcome of the general education courses less than major courses. It is necessary to develop new general education courses for engineer like as the management for engineering students or leadership program Also the faculties teaching the general education courses need to develop new learning method and materials, which help students to achieve soft skills.
The purpose of this study was to examine the learning outcome of problem-based learning as an efficient teaching method to improve the competencies of great talents for future society. A general education course of a university that was one of teaching profession courses titled "prevention of school violence and countermeasures" was provided in the form of PBL, and data were gathered, which were reflective journals, evaluation sheet and observational journals. As a result, PBL produced learning effects such as understanding and applying learning contents, fostering cooperativeness, problem-solving skills and a sense of responsibility, extended thinking and good understanding of PBL. Also, that provided a great opportunity for the students to build up their character by learning caring and by improving cooperativeness, a sense of responsibility and communicative competency, which preservice teachers should have. The findings of the study suggest that the expansion of PBL is necessary to bolster problem- solving skills, self-directed learning, cooperativeness and creativity that are competencies required in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
