  • In writing learning as a second/foreign language, a learner has to acquire not only lexical and syntactical knowledge but also the skills to choose suitable words for content which s/he is interested in. A learning system should extrapolate learner\\`s intention and give example phrases that concern with the content in order to support this on the system. However, a learner cannot always represent a content of his/her desired phrase as inputs to the system. Therefore, the system should be equipped with a diagnosis function for learner\\`s intention. Additionally, a system also should be equipped with an analysis function to score similarity between learner\\`s intention and phrases which is stored in the system on both syntactic and idiomatic level in order to present appropriate example phrases to a learner. In this paper, we propose architecture of an interactive support method for English writing learning which is based an analogical search technique of sample phrases from corpora. Our system can show a candidate of variation/next phrases to write and an analogous sentence that a learner wants to represents from corpora.

  • With progress of informationalization, education has been transformed from traditional uni-direction education to bi-directional and consumer-oriented education, which is performed by learner's self study and interactive education of multiple dimension between a learner and contents, between a learner and a teacher, and between a learner and a learner irrespective of space-time. According to this trend, a new education method has been required. Therefore, in this paper, we will propose real-time consumer-oriented distance education system of making interaction maximum using WBI. In this system, a learner can participate in an individual study case by multiple interaction with a learner's designing and plaining study, and also participate in group study case by way of discussion and conversation among participants.

  • Web based learning systems are operating with various and lots of learning contents. But it is hard to construct learning contents to fit learners when they select learning contents for learning. In this paper, we proposed the recommendation method that can support the learning contents as calculate learner's preference using the learning history information of learner's profile when learner design and compose learning course. In the applying result of this method, we've selected testing learner group and was able to know it can help to learner processing learning by themselves as we've got great learning satisfaction after test.

  • This descriptive study was conducted to examine the factors affecting core competency, learner motivation, and learner satisfaction of nursing students and to develop effective teaching methods. The subjects of this study were 134 nursing students. The core competencies of nursing students were higher in 3rd grade than in 2nd grade, and the core competency, motivation, and learner satisfaction of the nursing students were higher than those of below average students. The explanatory power of a core competency model constructed using the self-directed learning readiness, teacher-student interaction, and academic achievement was 45.1%. Additionally, the explanatory power of a learner motivation model based on self-directed learning readiness, teacher-student interaction, academic achievement, and learner motivation was 47.5%, while that of a learner satisfaction model constructed using the teacher-student interaction and learner motivation was 43.4%. In conclusion, it is necessary to improve teacher-student interaction and self-directed learning readiness to increase core competency and learner motivation. To increase learner satisfaction, it is necessary to intervene to encourage learner motivation and to make the teaching-student interaction efficient.

  • Preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Corona-19, our education is expanding a new chapter of learning to the era of AI education that incorporates software technology beyond software education. In this study, we will analyze the case of learner-centered assessment in software education and examine the assessment direction of artificial intelligence education through its effectiveness. Through the case of applying learner-centered assessment to non-computer subjects including computer subjects, we sought the effects on learners' learning, environmental conditions and assessment models of learner-centered evaluation, and through the case of applying the learner-centered assessment model to software education, we wanted to find out what the learner-centered assessment in artificial intelligence education suggests to the educational site. According to the analysis, the learner-centered assessment had a significant effect on the learner's achievement goal, and it is expected that the learner-centered assessment in artificial intelligence education will be carried out smoothly when an objective evaluation system and objective evaluation model are designed to help the learner's assessment, building digital environment conditions based on intelligent information technology.

  • Do loanword properties emerge in the acquisition of a foreign language and if so, how? Classic studies in adult language learning assumed loanword properties that range from near-ceiling to near-chance level of appearance depending on speech proficiency. The present research argues that such variations reflect different phonological types, rather than speech proficiency. To investigate the difference between learner speech and loanword phonology, the current research analyzes the speech data from five different proficiency levels of 92 Korean speakers who read 19 pairs of English words and sentences that contained loanwords. The experimental method is primarily an acoustical one, by which the phonological cause in the loanwords (e.g., the insertion of [$\Box$] at the end of the word stamp) would be attested to appear in learner speech, in comparison with native speech from 11 English speakers and 11 Korean speakers. The data investigated for the research are of segment deletion, insertion, substitution, and alternation in both learner speech and the native speech. The results indicate that learner speech does not present the loanword properties in many cases, but depends on the types of phonological causes. The relatively easy acquisition of target pronunciation is evidenced in the cases of segment deletion, insertion, substitution, and alternation, except when the loanword property involves the successful command of the target phonology such as the de-aspiration of [p] in apple. Such a case of difficult learning draws a sharp distinction from the cases of easy learning in the development of learner speech, particularly beyond the intermediate level of proficiency. Overall, learner speech departs from loanword phonology and develops toward the native speech value, depending on phonological contrasts in the native and foreign languages.

  • It is required that an e-learning system has a content recommendation component which helps a learner choose an item. In order to predict items concerning learner's interest, collaborative filtering and content-based filtering methods have been most widely used. The methods recommend items for a learner based on other learner's interests without considering the knowledge level of the learner. So, the effectiveness of the recommendation can be reduced when the number of overall users are relatively small. Also, it is not easy to recommend a newly added item. In order to address the problem, we propose a content recommendation method based on the similarity and the difficulty of an item. By using a recommendation function that reflects both characteristics of items, a higher-level leaner can choose more difficult but less similar items, while a lower-level learner can select less difficult but more similar items, Thus, a learner can be presented items according to his or her level of achievement, which is irrelevant to other learner's interest.
