Purposes: This study was to provide basic data to explain the effect of the organizational effectiveness factor on hospital nursing, to construct an appropriate model to examine the validation and relationship with variables and to provide basic data for improving the organizational effectiveness of hospital nursing. Method: This study was a descriptive correlation research. Subjects of the study were 348 nurses, 219 patients, and 89 nurses for nursing quality. Twelve measurement variables and nine paths were established in the hypothetical model. Results: The fitness indices of the model were GFI=0.91, NFI=0.90, and PGFI=0.49. Five among the nine paths proved to be statistically significant : level of nurse manpower to organizational effectiveness, conflict to organizational effectiveness, organizational climate to organizational effectiveness, level of nurse manpower to organizational climate, and leadership to organizational climate. Level of nurse manpower and leadership influenced organizational climate. Organizational climate accounted for 43% by the predictor variables, and the level of nurse manpower, conflict, and organizational climate influenced the organizational effectiveness, which accounted for 77% by the predictor variables. Conclusion: This study identified that the level of nurse manpower, leadership, conflict, and organizational climate are important factors affecting organizational effectiveness.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of attachment with parent and peer on the adolescent's leadership life skills. The subjects were 281 students from three middle schools in Incheon city. The data were analyzed by multiple and hierarchical regression. Major findings of this study were as follows; First, present study suggested that parental attachment, peer attachment, and adolescent's leadership life skills were a moderate level. And, adolescent's leadership life skills were a significant differences on the parental and peer attachment, respectively. In particular, the more amicable communication with parents and peers, the more developed their overall leadership life skills. Finally, the peer attachment rather than parental attachment was more influenced on their leadership life skills. Focusing on parental and peer attachment relationship, the educational implication for promoting adolescent's leadership life skills were discussed.
The purpose of this research was to investigate factors related to the child care center director's transformational leadership and differences of the awareness about transformational leadership between child care center directors and teachers. A survey was conducted using the questionnaire developed by Lee suk-kyung (1997). Results of this research showed that type of child care center, number of children in the program, director's age, educational degree and years of career related to child care, affected the child care director's transformational leadership as recognized by themselves. From a teacher's point of view, director's transformational leadership was influenced by director's age, educational degree, and years of career related to child care. In addition, different level of awareness about director's transformational leadership between child care directors and teachers was found. Based on the result, a program to enhance director's leadership is strongly needed.

With the multitude of variables that may play a role in a company's Lean journey, it is becoming more understood that leadership plays a significant role in implementing lean principles on construction projects. The goal of this research is to investigate the relationship between leadership and Lean Construction implementation. The research uses a quantitative research in which a survey was conducted, followed by a statistical analysis to test the hypothesis. Through the statistical analysis of survey data, the research finds that there is positive relation between the level of transformational leadership and the effectiveness of lean implementation. When an organization is implementing organizational change like Lean, traits of leaders must not be underestimated. The study findings may contribute to the knowledge of lean construction leadership by bridging the gap between leadership and the effectiveness of lean implementation.
Today's healthcare environment is changing, driven by demographic, environmental, social, political and technological forces. These rapidly changing healthcare environment and increasingly professional nursing practice indicate that identifying leadership characteristic of nursing leaders and executives is a vital importance in today's time and also mandate innovative leadership for nursing service. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examined the transformational, transactional leadership styles of the Nurse Administrators. Also described are the relationships between these leadership styles and the job satisfaction. the organizational commitment of their subordinates. The sample consisted of sixteen mid-level nurse administrators, fifty head nurses and one hundred aid fifty-three staff nurses of 4 public & private University Hospitals and 1 General Hospital. Data for this study was collected from Sep. 20 to Oct. 5 by Questionnaire(Bass' MLQ, Job Satisfaction scale developed by Paula(1978), Organizational Commitment scale by Peter et at(1979). The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient with SPSS PC/sup +/ program. Major findings are as follows : Appropriate one-way ANOVA tests revealed that the differences for transformational and transactional leadership styles of nurse executives. mid-level nurse administrators, head nurses as perceived by their immediate subordinates were statistically significant(P<.05), The scores of transformational and contingent reward behaviors were declined of the mid-level nurse administrators, nurse executives. The transactional scores of nurse administrators were lower than trans- formational ones, which is a desirable findings. The result of this study, the head nurses were perceived as the highest transformational leader by their subordinates, and second was the mid-level nurse administrators. The nurse executives received the lowest transformational leadership scores from their subordinates. These results were opposit to the previous studies. And significant positive correlations were founded between transformational leadership including charisma, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration and contingent reward of nurse administrators and the job satisfaction, the organizational commitment of their subordinates. From the data, it can be concluded that transformational leadership style of nurse administrators promotes the job satisfaction, the organizational commitment of thier staff nurses. Therefore leader looks for potential motives in subordinates, seeks to satisfy higher need, and engages the full person of the subordinate resulting in a relationship of mutual stimulation and elevation.
This study attempts to explain how the social-worker empowerment in the field of social work relates to social-work self-efficacy and whether or not the transactional leadership of the leader moderates the relationship between these two variables. Data from 390 social workers working with public and private sector agencies in Seoul were collected. For the questionnaire and analysis, this research uses the Social Worker Empowerment, Social Work Self-Efficacy, and Transactional Leadership scales. This research utilizes a wide range of statistical analyses, such as descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation, reliability analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression, and general linear modeling. The calculations employed the use of SPSS/PC+ 12.0. This research indicates, among other things, that social workers with a high level of social worker empowerment and transactional leadership of the leader show a tendency toward higher social work self-efficacy and that the leader's transactional leadership level plays a moderating function in the relationship between social-worker empowerment and transactional leadership of the leader. In conclusion, a social worker with a low level of leader's transactional leadership shows a relatively greater tendency toward social work self-efficacy when compared to a social worker having a high level of leader's transactional leadership. Social workers and social-work organizations seeking professional practice can benefit from these findings on the relationship between professional behavior and social work self-efficacy with perceived transactional leadership about a team leader as a moderator.

Servant leadership has been noticeable in the last decade in the leadership literature on account its focus on serving others first. The target of servant leadership is not the organization, but rather the followers and their development and also the ability to motivate others to become servant leaders. Serving leadership has been recognized as a leadership philosophy that addresses ethical concerns, which is linked to ethical leadership. This study aims to investigate the relationship between dimensions of servant leadership and public service motivation of civil servants. Data were collected from civil servants working in public organizations at district level in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam through survey forms. The research hypotheses are tested by factor analysis and regression. The results report that 7 dimensions of servant leadership positively affect public service motivation in the following ascending order: Empowerment, standing back, forgiveness, humility, integrity, accountability, and courage. On the other hand stewardship has an insignificant impact on the role of leading and supervising. Our study contributes to the existing literature on servant leadership as well as public service motivation by throwing light onto a so-far neglected transitional country like Vietnam. Thereby, this study proposes a number of implications for the leaders to improve leadership style to enhance public service motivation of civil servants.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the child care center director's transformational leadership on the organizational committment of the child care teachers. The research subjects were 292 child care teachers who worked in 43 facilities of the eastern part of Jeon Nam Province. The data analysis was performed by using SPSS Win 15.0 Program. The results of this study were as follows. First, the teachers rated the transformational leadership of the director as 2.39 points in a scale of 5 points which was recognized as a normal level. Among the transformational leadership categories, the category of vision setting was the highest and the category of setting an example was the lowest. Second, the level of organizational committment of the teachers is rated 3.70 points in a scale of 5 points. Among the organizational commitment categories, the category of normative committment was the highest and followed by the category of affective and continuance commitment. More transformational leadership was related to more organizational commitment from teachers.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the followers's perception of the behavioral characteristics of middle managers' leadership styles and the relationship between middle managers' behavioral characteristics by leadership style and followers' trust in middle managers. The data were collected from the officials of the Rural Development Administration(RDA) of Korea in September, 2001. A total of 215 questionnaires out of 232 distributed were collected and 211 valid ones analyzed. The results from the study were as follows: First, on the leadership styles of the middle managers of RDA, the perception points of the staffs of offices/divisions were 3.56 points in servant leadership style, 3.48 points in transformational leadership style and 3.51 in transactional leadership style from the possible 5.0 points scale. Second, the mean point of the trust level of the staff to the middle managers was 3.64 points indicating that the directors in general tried to treat the staff of offices/divisions with equitably and to communicate with them openly. Third, the correlation between the trust of followers and several variables showed that the subordinate behavioral characteristics of servant leadership, transformational leadership and transactional leadership had positive effects on the trust. Especially 'individualized consideration' and 'contingent rewards' were highly correlated.

The Leaders in organization play various core roles in workers' performance and organizational performance. A leader presents a vision and a direction to enable members to achieve higher performance. Especially, transformational leadership suggests members a strong vision and influences them to have identification with the organization. Based on previous researches, transformational leadership is a close connection to identification with job and organization satisfaction. This study explains the influence of the university professors' transformational leadership on students' university satisfaction and university identification. In this study, the subjects of statistical analysis are Chinese international students studying in Korea. As a result, first, professors' transformational leadership enhanced the level of students' university satisfaction. Second, university identification had a partial mediating influence on the relationship between professors' transformational leadership and students' university satisfaction. Professors' transformational leadership had an influence on the students' identification with their universities. Through this process, students become aware of identification and more satisfied with their universities. As a result of the transformational leadership of the professor, the identification and satisfaction of the international students will be improved and they will be better able to adapt to their study life and achieve high results. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the roles of transformational leadership as a necessary leadership for the successful study abroad life of Chinese students studying in Korea today.
