Physicochemical Properties and White Layer Cake Making Potentialities of Wheat Flour and Soy Protein Isolate Blends (분리 콩단백 복합분의 이화학적 특성과 white Layer cake 제조적성)

  • The protein contents of soy protein isolate (SPI) and soft wheat flours were 83.5% and 8.5%, respectively. The addition of SPI increased the protein content but decreased the sedimentation value. Alkaline water retention capacity (AWRC) value increased with SPI addition and was highly correlated with protein content. Increasing SPI flour content significantly decreased the maximum, minimum and final viscosities. Mixograph peak time was positively correlated with protein content and AWRC. The PH and specific gravity of the cake batter increased with increasing SPI content. The SPI addition reduced the loaf and specific loaf volume compared with soft wheat flour. The lightness of the cake crust decreased, while the redness and yellowness increased, with SPI flour addition. SPI addition resulted in a decrease of overall acceptability, but an increase in hardness.

An Integrated Region-Related Information Searching System applying of Map Interface and Knowledge Processing (맵 인터페이스와 지식처리를 활용한 지역관련정보 통합검색 시스템)

  • Large portal sites such as Google, NAVER provide Various services based on the map. Thus, interest and demand of users who want to obtain the region-related information has been increased. And services that combine the regional information with the map are provided currently at the large portal sites. However, the existing services of large portal sites do not provide enough detailed information and are inconvenient because acquisition process of related information is repeated. Therefore, the system that enables users to obtain detailed information related on the specific region synthetically and easily is needed. In this paper, we propose a system model using map interface and knowledge-processing in order to build the system that is useful for acquiring regional information. The model consists of 3-Layers: 'Regional Information Web-Documents Layer', 'Unique Regional Information Layer', and "Map-Interface Layer'. The Integrated Region~Related Information Searching System based on the model is implemented through the following 4-steps: (1) extracting the keywords that represent specific region (2) collecting the related web pages (3) extracting a set of related keywords and computing an association between the keywords (4) implementing a user interface. We verified validity on the model we proposed. knowledge-processing algorithm using affinity matrix, and UI that help users conveniently search by applying the system to region of the Goyang City. This system integrates regional information existing merely individual 'information' and provides users the 'knowledge' that is newly produced and organized. Users can obtain various detailed regional information and easily get related information through this system.

White Layer Cake-Making Properties of Korean Wheat Cultivars (국산밀을 이용한 white layer cake의 제조 적성)

  • Eight Korean wheat cultivars were milled and evaluated for the properties of white layer cake-making, compared to a commercial soft wheat flour. Milling yields of the Korean wheat cultivars ranged from 62.5 to 71.8%. The protein and ash contents of flours milled from Korean wheat cultivars ranged from 7.70 to 10.58% and 0.51 to 0.71%, respectively. Woorimil, Alchanmil and Olgeurumil flours, having low protein content, showed very weak mixing characteristics. Even though Eunpamil and Geurumil flours showed longer mixing time and higher peak height, they had week dough stability. Slight differences in pH and specific gravity of cake batter were observed among the Korean wheat flours. Cake volume measured by rapeseed displacement was in the range of $837.5{\sim}952.5\;cc$. Alchanmil flour demonstrated the highest specific volume of 2.40, and the other domestic flours symmetrical and uniform than those with the commercial soft wheat flour. Volume of white layer cakes was negatively affected by flour protein content and somewhat associated with crumb softness. Crumb color of cakes prepared with domestic wheat flours was slightly darker and more yellowish. Hardness of fresh cakes prepared with domestic flours ranged from 307.33 to 416.60 $g_f$.

Nutrient Uptake Kinetics of Nitzschia sp. for Bioremediation of the Benthic Layer (저질 환경 개선을 위한 Nitzschia sp.의 영양염 흡수 동력학)

  • For bioremediation of the benthic layer uptake kinetics of phosphate by microphytobenthos Nitzschia sp.(JFH200406) were investigated. A short-term phosphate uptake revealed that the maximum uptake rate(${\rho}_{max}$) and half-saturation constant($K_s$) were 0.132 pmol/cell/hr and 502.6 ${\mu}M$, respectively. The maximum specific uptake rate calculated between ${\rho}_{max}$ and the phosphorus cell quota($Q_p$), calculated from Strathmann equation, was 14.4/day. The values of these parameters indicate that Nitzschia sp. accommodates well to surroundings of high phosphate, and can uptake over 14-times more than the phosphorus cell quota. Thus, microphytobenthos Nitzschia sp. may be a useful species for bioremediation of the benthic layer.

  • The active metal brazing was applied to bond Alumina and Ni-Cr steel by Ag-Cu-Zr-Sn alloy and the interfacial microstructure and reaction mechanism were investigated. Polycrystalline monoclinic $ZrO_2$ with a very fine grain of 100-150 nm formed at the alumina grain boundary contacted with Zr segregation layer at the interface. The $ZrO_2$ layer containing the inclusions and cracks were developed at the boundary of inclusion/$ZrO_2$ due to the difference in specific volume. The development of $ZrO_2$ at the interface was successfully explained by the preferential penetration of $ZrO_2$ at the interface was successfully explained by the preferential penetration of Zr atoms a higher concentration of oxygen and a high diffusion rate of Al ions into molten brazing alloy.

  • A wireless LAN medical information transmission system is useful for patients who need mobility in a local area environment. This paper proposes a method using WLAN(wireless local area network) and implements a stand-alone system with MAC(meidum access control) layer protocol referenced IEEE 802.11 draft standard. The system consists of a 8bit-microprocessor which handles media access control protocol and a WL100(GEC Plessey) chip which takes care of phsical layer specific routines and uses a RF module DE6003(GEC Plessey). The major features of the implemented system are the CSMA/CA protocol used a consecutive DATA-ACK trasmission method which yields more effective bandwidth allocation for asyncronous traffic transmission and the modified PCF protocol for time-bounded traffic transmission, which operates in ad-hoc network topology apart from IEEE 802.11 draft standard confirm PCF mode operate in infrastruture topology.

  • We have reported to make nanostructured cobalt oxide electrode that have large capacitance over than 400 F/g (specific capacitance) and good cycleability. But, it had serious demerits of low voltage range under 0.5 V and low power density. Therefore, we need to increase voltage range of cobalt oxide electrode. We report here on the electrochemical properties of sol-gel-derived nanoparticulate cobalt xerogel in 1M KOH solution and aqueous polymeric gel electrolyte. In solution electrolyte, cobalt oxide electrode had over 250 F/g capacitance consisted of EDLC and pseudocapacitance. In gel electrolyte, cobalt oxide electrode had around 100 F/g capacitance. This capacitance was only electric double layer capacitance of active surface area. In solution electrolyte, potassium ion as working ion reacted with both of layers easily. However, In gel electrolyte, reacted with only surface-active layer. Itis very hard to reach resistive layer. So, we have studied on pretreatment of electrode to contain working ions easily. We'll report more details.

Numerical modeling of Atmosphere - Surface interaction considering Vegetation Canopy (식물계를 고려한 지표-대기 상호작용의 수치모의)

  • An one dimensional atmosphere-vegetation interaction model is developed to discuss of the effect of vegetation on heat flux in mesoscale planetary boundary layer. The canopy model was a coupled system of three balance equations of energy, moisture at ground surface and energy state of canopy with three independent variables of $T_f$(foliage temperature), $T_g$(ground temperature) and $q_g$(ground specific humidity). The model was verified by comparative study with OSUID(Oregon State University One Dimensional Model) proved in HYPEX-MOBHLY experiment. As the result, both vegetation and soil characteristics can be emphasized as an important factor iii the analysis of heat flux in the boundary layer. From the numerical experiments, following heat flux characteristics are clearly founded simulation. The larger shielding factor(vegetation) increase of $T_f$ while decrease $T_g$. because vegetation cut solar radiation to ground. Vegetation, the increase of roughness and resistance, increase of sensible heat flux in foliage while decrease the latent heat flux in the foliage.

Field Emission Property of ZnO Nanowire with Nanocone Shape (나노뿔 형태로 제작된 ZnO 나노선의 전계방출 특성)

  • ZnO nanowires were fabricated by hydrothermal synthesis technique for field emission device application. Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films were prepared as seed layer of catalyst for the ZnO nanowire synthesis, for which conductivity of the seed layer was tried to be improved for enhancing the field emission property of the ZnO nanowire. The AZO seed layer revealed specific resistivity of $ 7.466{\times}10^{-4}[{\Omega}{\cdot}cm]$ and carrier mobility of 18.6[$cm^2$/Vs]. Additionally, upper tip of the prepared ZnO nanowires was treated by hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form a nanocone shape of ZnO nanowire, which was aimed for enhanced focusing of electric field on that and resultingly to improve field emission property of the ZnO nanowires. The ZnO nanowire with nanocone shape revealed decreased threshold electric field and increased current density than those of the simple ZnO nanowires.

The thermal analysis of te-based media for the optical recording (광기록에 이용되는 Te-based media에 대한 열적 해석)

  • We discussed the thermal analysis for a recording media with the variation of the laser pulse duration, the laser power and the temperature distribution in order to optimize the Te-based antireflection structure from the computer calculations. In the case that the radial heat diffusion is negligible, we can calculate the maximum temperature of the recording layer at the center of the spot by the Simple Model. The temperature profile of the recording layer is obtained from the Numerical Model by considering the total specific heat and the latent heat. As a result, the effect of the heat sinking acting as a thermal loss for the hole formation could be minimized by introducing the pulse with the hole formation duration(.tau.) below the thermal time constant(.tau.$_{D}$) of a dielectric layer. These requirments can be satisfied by using the dielectric thickness of the 2nd ART(Anti-Reflection Trilayer) condition or the dielectric materials with a low thermal diffusivity.y.
