대용량 변압기 보호용 퍼지논리 계전기법과 웨이브렛 계전기법의 비교 분석 (A Comparative Analysis of Fuzzy Logic-Based Relaying and Wavelet-Based Relaying for Large Transformer Protection)

  • Percentage differential characteristic scheme has been recognized as the principal basis for large transformer protection. Nowadays, relaying signals can contain second harmonic component to a large extent even in a normal state, and second harmonic ratio indicates a tendency of relative reduction because of the advancement of transformer's core material. And then, conventional second harmonic restraint differential relaying exposes some doubt in reliability. It is, therefore, necessary to develop a new algorithm for the effective and accurate discrimination. This paper deals with advanced fuzzy logic based relaying by using flux differential, and a new fault detection criterion logic scheme by using wavelet transform. To comparative analysis of proposed techniques, the paper constructs power system model including power transformer, utilizing the EMTP, and collects data through simulation of various internal faults and magnetizing inrush. The proposed fuzzy relaying and a new fault detection scheme were tested. The former, fuzzy relaying, was proven to be faster and more reliable than the latter.

t/k-시스템을 이용한 하이퍼큐브 네트워크의 결함 진단 (Fault Diagnosis Using t/k-Diagnosable System in Hypercube Networks)

  • 시스템-레벨 진단 알고리즘은 결함의 개수가 t개를 초과하지 않는다는 t-진단가능 시스템의 특성을 이용한다. 기존의 진단 알고리즘으로 대형 멀티프로세서 시스템에서의 보다 많은 수의 결함을 처리하기에는 한계가 있다. Somani와 Peleg은 진단의 정확 여부를 판단할 수 없는 충분히 작은 개수의 노드가 존재한다는 것을 허용으로써 결함의 갯수가 t개를 초과할 경우에도 시스템을 진단하는 t/k-diagnosable 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 t/k-diagnosable 시스템을 이용한 하이퍼큐브 진단 알고리즘을 제안한다. 결함의 개수가 t개를 초과하는 경우에 대하여, k개의 부정확한 진단을 허용한다. 성능 실험 결과 제안 알고리즘은 HADA 알고리즘보다 우수함을 보여 주었다. 또한 제안 알고리즘은 HYP-DIAG 알고리즘과의 성능 비교에서도 비슷한 결과를 보여 준다.

Fault-Tolerant Control of Cascaded H-Bridge Converters Using Double Zero-Sequence Voltage Injection and DC Voltage Optimization

  • Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) converters can be directly connected to medium-voltage grids without using transformers and they possess the advantages of large capacity and low harmonics. They are significant tools for providing grid connections in large-capacity renewable energy systems. However, the reliability of a grid-connected CHB converter can be seriously influenced by the number of power switching devices that exist in the structure. This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control strategy based on double zero-sequence voltage injection and DC voltage optimization to improve the reliability of star-connected CHB converters after one or more power units have been bypassed. By injecting double zero-sequence voltages into each phase cluster, the DC voltages of the healthy units can be rapidly balanced after the faulty units are bypassed. In addition, optimizing the DC voltage increases the number of faulty units that can be tolerated and improves the reliability of the converter. Simulations and experimental results are shown for a seven-level three-phase CHB converter to validate the efficiency and feasibility of this strategy.

주철근 겹침이음된 RC교각의 근단층지반운동에 대한 진동대 응답과 분석 (Shake Table Response and Analysis of RC Bridge Piers with Lap-Spliced Steel under NFGM)

  • 근단층지반운동 (near fault ground motion, NFGM)은 일반적으로 진앙거리가 약 10 km 이내인 지역에서 관측되는 장주기 성분의 펄스 형태를 갖는 지반운동으로서 단층의 파열 진행 방향이 전단파의 진행방향과 일치한다. 이들 두 파가 유사한 속도를 갖을 경우 서로 간섭을 일으키어 펄스 형태의 속도파를 발생시키며 단층에 수직한 방향의 속도성분에서 큰 펄스가 발생한다. 강진 지역에서는 NFGM에 대하여 많은 연구가 수행되었으나 우리나라와 같은 중저진 지역에서는 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 최근 국내에서도 NFGM에 대한 모델링을 제시되었다. 따라서 이들이 발생할 경우의 피해에 대해 많은 관심이 고조되고 있다. 최근까지 국내에서 수행된 RC 교각에 대한 내진 실험은 축소 모형의 경우 국내에 있는 진동대 용량의 한계 및 지진에 의한 교각 상부 구조물의 가속력 구현 방법의 어려움 등으로 수행하기 힘든 여건이 있었다. 그리고 주로 원역지진지반가속도 (far fault ground motion, 이후 FFGM)를 모형화한 준정적 (Quasi-static) 혹은 유사동적 (Pseudo-dynamic) 실험으로 이루어져 왔다. 그 결과 RC교각은 내진성능을 위하여 충분한 연성도를 확보하고 있어야 하는데 소성힌지영역 내에 주철근의 겹침이음이 있게 되면 겹침이음부의 조기파괴가 발생하게 되어 세계 각국의 내진설계규정은 교각의 소성힌지구간에서 주철근겹침이음을 금지하고 있다. 따라서, 이 연구는 주철근의 겹침이음을 시험변수로 가진 RC 교각의 내진성능을 근단층지반운동에 대해서 평가하기 위해서 축소모형을 제작하고 진동대 실험을 수행하였다.

  • Partitioning problem of large combinational logic has been studied in real world. Most of logic include undectable faults from the structure of it's redundant, fan-out-reconvergent, and symetrical feature. BPT algorithm is proposed to enhance the fault voverage for combinational logic partitioning. This algorithm partitions the logic by cut the lines related to undetectable structure when seperating. Controllability and observability are considered in the process of partitioning. This algorithm is evaluated effective by testing ISCAS85 circuits.

  • This paper describes the results of a study for the stability of power system when the Kori Nuclear #1 P/P is operated with existing system. First, a transient disturbance, which effects the stability of entire power system, was analysed and to cope with the problem a load shedding method was studied to recover the fluctuation of the power system. Second, transient stability problem was studied when three phase fault occurs in 345 Extra High Voltage power System, and from this result, it was found to be highly effective that high speed protecting device should be provided and operated to recover the fault.

  • Under high power IGBTs Switching, a large overvoltage is induced across the IGBT module due to the stray inductance in the circuit. This paper proposes a new gate drive circuit for high power IGBTs which can actively suppress the overvoltage across the driven IGBT at turn-off while preserving the most simple and reliable power circuit. The turn-off driving scheme has adaptive feature to the amplitude of collector current, so that the overvoltage can be limited much effectively at the fault collector current. Experimental results under various normal and fault conditions prove the effectiveness of the proposed.

시스템 결함원인분석을 위한 데이터 로그 전처리 기법 연구 (A Study on Data Pre-filtering Methods for Fault Diagnosis)

  • High performance sensors and modern data logging technology with real-time telemetry facilitate system fault diagnosis in a very precise manner. Fault detection, isolation and identification in fault diagnosis systems are typical steps to analyze the root cause of failures. This systematic failure analysis provides not only useful clues to rectify the abnormal behaviors of a system, but also key information to redesign the current system for retrofit. The main barriers to effective failure analysis are: (i) the gathered data (event) logs are too large in general, and further (ii) they usually contain noise and redundant data that make precise analysis difficult. This paper therefore applies suitable pre-processing techniques to data reduction and feature extraction, and then converts the reduced data log into a new format of event sequence information. Finally the event sequence information is decoded to investigate the correlation between specific event patterns and various system faults. The efficiency of the developed pre-filtering procedure is examined with a terminal box data log of a marine diesel engine.

Acceleration of Simulated Fault Injection Using a Checkpoint Forwarding Technique

  • Simulated fault injection (SFI) is widely used to assess the effectiveness of fault tolerance mechanisms in safety-critical embedded systems (SCESs) because of its advantages such as controllability and observability. However, the long test time of SFI due to the large number of test cases and the complex simulation models of modern SCESs has been identified as a limiting factor. We present a method that can accelerate an SFI tool using a checkpoint forwarding (CF) technique. To evaluate the performance of CF-based SFI (CF-SFI), we have developed a CF mechanism using Verilog fault-injection tools and two systems under test (SUT): a single-core-based co-simulation model and a triple modular redundant co-simulation model. Both systems use the Verilog simulation model of the OpenRISC 1200 processor and can execute the embedded benchmarks from MiBench. We investigate the effectiveness of the CF mechanism and evaluate the two SUTs by measuring the test time as well as the failure rates. Compared to the SFI with no CF mechanism, the proposed CF-SFI approach reduces the test time of the two SUTs by 29%-45%.

Probabilistic sensitivity analysis of suspension bridges to near-fault ground motion

  • The sensitivities of a structural response due to variation of its design parameters are prerequisite in the majority of the algorithms used for fundamental problems in engineering as system uncertainties, identification and probabilistic assessments etc. The paper presents the concept of probabilistic sensitivity of suspension bridges with respect to near-fault ground motion. In near field earthquake ground motions, large amplitude spectral accelerations can occur at long periods where many suspension bridges have significant structural response modes. Two different types of suspension bridges, which are Bosporus and Humber bridges, are selected to investigate the near-fault ground motion effects on suspension bridges random response sensitivity analysis. The modulus of elasticity is selected as random design variable. Strong ground motion records of Kocaeli, Northridge and Erzincan earthquakes are selected for the analyses. The stochastic sensitivity displacements and internal forces are determined by using the stochastic sensitivity finite element method and Monte Carlo simulation method. The stochastic sensitivity displacements and responses obtained from the two different suspension bridges subjected to these near-fault strong-ground motions are compared with each other. It is seen from the results that near-fault ground motions have different impacts stochastic sensitivity responses of suspension bridges. The stochastic sensitivity information provides a deeper insight into the structural design and it can be used as a basis for decision-making.
