  • The purpose of this study was to form a linked model in which local institutions related to lifelong education for the disabled can cooperate based on the Daegu University K-PACE Center. The contents of the study started with recognizing the problem that the adult-centered lifelong education support system does not effectively cope with these factors, even though the independent life of people with developmental disabilities is a major factor determining the quality of life. Regarding this problem recognition, this study primarily emphasized the view that educational support for independent life of people with developmental disabilities should establish the context of the school foundation. The context of the school foundation is established for lifelong education centered on adulthood for people with developmental disabilities because the curriculum is embodied through the standards of subject matter education. In this regard, the Daegu University K-PACE Center, which established a curriculum that supports the independent life of people with developmental disabilities in terms of linking higher and lifelong education, actually reflects the context of the school foundation. As a result, this study prepared a strategy that could be considered as a transition to advance the curriculum organized by the Daegu University K-PACE Center, and the strategy was secondarily reflected as a procedure that could be linked to local lifelong education-related institutions for the disabled. Finally, this study presented a form of transition in which people with developmental disabilities can access the curriculum of lifelong education through the connection of local lifelong education-related institutions for the disabled, centering on the entire life of adulthood.

  • Since XML (eXtensible Markup Language) was highlighted as an information interchange format, there is an increasing demand for incorporating XML with databases. Most of the approaches are focused on RDB (Relational Databases) because of legacy systems. But these approaches depend on the database system. Countless researches are being focused on DTD (Document Type Definition). However XML Schema is more comprehensive and efficient in many perspectives. We propose a meta-model for XML Schema that is independent of the database. There are three processes to build our meta-model: DOM (Document Object Model) tree analysis, object modeling and storing object into a fixed DB schema using model mapping approach. We propose four mapping rules for object modeling, which conform to the ODMG (Object Data Management Group) 3.0 standard. We expect that the model will be especially useful in building XML-based e-business applications.

  • This paper is a study on the korean broadcasting speech recognition. Here we present the methods for the large vocabuary continuous speech recognition. Our main concerns are the language modeling and the search algorithm. The used acoustic model is the uni-phone semi-continuous hidden markov model and the used linguistic model is the N-gram model. The search algorithm consist of three phases in order to utilize all available acoustic and linguistic information. First, we use the forward Viterbi beam search to find word end frames and to estimate related scores. Second, we use the backword Viterbi beam search to find word begin frames and to estimate related scores. Finally, we use A/sup */ search to combine the above two results with the N-grams language model and to get recognition results. Using these methods maximum 96.0% word recognition rate and 99.2% syllable recognition rate are achieved for the speaker-independent continuous speech recognition problem with about 12,000 vocabulary size.

  • As an application software in distributed computing environment becomes large, the number of objects to be created increases drastically and the interfaces among them become very complex, The concept of group object resolves this problem to some extent by grouping a set of related objects, encapsulating them and controlling their interfaces systematically. In this paper, we propose an implementation model f the group object concept in CORBA, which is a standard middle ware for developing distributed application software on heterogeneous networks. To support group objects we extends CORBA ORB without modifying its internal structure for the compatibility with existing CORBA applications. And we devise an interface definition language by extending CORBA IDL to describe group objects in a language-independent style, which is one of the most important characteristics in CORBA. Finally, we experiment the implementation model on a CORBA ORB compliant product which supports the Java language.

  • In order to verify the performance of brushless DC (BLDC) motors, the simulation method has been widely used. The current of a BLDC motors flows on two phase windings to obtain a constant torque. However, the freewheeling current caused by the inductance component of a BLDC motor exists at the commutation point so that the current can flow on three phase windings at the same time. Due to the changes of the excited phases, the model equations are frequently changed during BLDC motor drive operation. The model equations can be also changed by the applied switching pattern since the current path in the inverter circuit changes according to switching pattern. A BLDC motor system can utilize various switching patterns for many different purposes. However, such changes of the model equations complicate the simulation procedure. In this paper, the technique to set up model equations is proposed to ease the simulation of a BLDC motor system through an inverter circuit analysis. The proposed technique will be verified using the C language. Although this method does not provide the level of detail obtainable from commercial simulation tools like PSIM or SIMULINK, it can provide an efficient way to quickly compare various conditions.

  • The system development approach method of the new paradigm, as being standardizing MDA(Model Driven Architecture) in OMG(Object Management Group), the core technique of MDA definite technique structure for system materialization focusing on Model, is to build the design and the statement for system in PIM(Platform Independent Model), Materialization technique, and to build PSM(Platform Specific Model) adapt to materialization environment, and then to be the technique transforming into language Platform suitable to materialization environment. It includes MOF(Meta-Object Facility), UML, XMI(XML Metadata Interchange), CWM(Common Warehouse Metamodel), the core of MDA. Though these operations MDA support automatic tools product the practicable system after carrying out transform operation with the above information. In this thesis, it will be approached how to design and materialize the Bachelor management system based on MDA and the importance of modeling should be emphasized by applying to the approach method based on MDA. It should be suggested how to develop software efficiently, written it out in PIM, and suggested the process transforming PSM into EJB by J2EE Platform. The system is designed and implemented using automatic tool, edit machine(Together Architect 2006 for Eclipse, Edit plus2) supporting MDA and Database Modeling tool(ER/WIN 4.1). In conclusion, it should be suggested the efficiency analysis result for development process of traditional and based on MDA.

  • Mapping FRSAD and other ontology models intends to suggest a higher knowledge level that is independent of any information implementation system or specific context, and to endeavor to focus on the semantics, knowledge structures, subject access, and interoperability. Providing an application of FRSAD model to information environment and representing and sharing the information within the library sector and beyond, there needs encoding scheme for knowledge representation. This study suggested an OWL based ontology architecture for FRSAD model and demonstrated the pilot FRSAD ontology model using Prot$\acute{e}$g$\acute{e}$ software.

  • To efficiently manage data varying over time and process event driven transactions, some of the various database applications recently emerged require database systems supporting both a temporal data model and active rule processing. There has been much progress in independent research on temporal databases and active databases, but studies on databases which support both functions, have been rare. In this paper, an active temporal rule model supporting both active rule processing and temporal data model is presented with its rule expression language. This active temporal rule model contributes to the active function extension of the temporal database, and to establishing the concept of data access events which refer temporal attributes of data in active rules.

  • In this paper, we present a Web-enabled product data sharing system for the support of RPD (Rapid Product Development) process by incorporating STEP (STandard for the Exchange of Product model data) with Web technology such as VRML (Virtual Reality Markup Language), SGML (Structured Generalized Markup Language) and Java. Extreme competition makes product life cycle short by incessantly deprecating current products with a brand-new one, and thus urges enterprises to devise a new product faster than ever. In this environment, an RPD process with effective product data sharing system is essential to outstrip competitors by speeding up the development process. However, the diversity of product data schema and heterogeneous systems make it difficult to exchange the product data. We chose STEP as a neutral product data schema and Web as an independent exchange environment to overcome these problems. While implementing our system, we focused on the support of STEP AP 203 UoF (Units of Functionality) views to efficiently employ STEP data models that are maximally normalized, and therefore very cumbersome to handle. Our functionality-oriented UoF view approach can increase users'appreciation since it facilitates the modular usage of STEP data models. This can also enhance the accuracy of product data. We demonstrate that our view approach is applicable to the configuration control of mechanical assemblies.

  • Today raises its head on the issue of interoperability caused by the complexity of the embedded software and the diverse development environment about SUGV(Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle). So, we propose to adopt the original MDA mechanism for this heterogeneous embedded development. To solve this problem, we apply for developing SUGV with MDA(Model Driven Architecture) using the original UML profile mechanism. Through this method, it can be semi-automatically transformed into TSM(Target specific model) after modeling TIM(Target Independent Model). Then we can also automatically generate the heterogeneous source codes. Therefore it will be reduced the development cycle and effort of the heterogeneous systems. We verify the benefits of our proposed approach and the reliability through analyzing the generated codes.
