Do Physiognomically Designated Protected Areas Match Well with Ecological Data based upon Diversity Indices and Ordination? Implications for Urban Forest Conservation

  • We surveyed the vegetation of an ecological landscape preservation area (legally protected conservation areas or national parks) and the surrounding areas of Mt. Cheonggye, Republic of Korea, to explore the conservation implications for preservation areas and surrounding transition areas. We calculated diversity indices to identify the properties of the preservation and surrounding areas that are relevant to conservation efforts. We then compared the plant community composition between the areas using field and quadrat surveys in the preservation and surrounding areas. The cover of the dominant species in all tree and herb layers was markedly higher in the preservation area than in the peripheral zones. The species richness indices were significantly higher in the preservation area than in the peripheral zones. Ordination using detrended canonical correspondence analyses showed that the cover of the dominant tree species and rocks could explain the distribution of plant species in the Cartesian space of the ordination. Our results demonstrate that physiognomically designated protected areas match well with ecological data based on diversity indices and ordination analyses and that disturbances in the areas surrounding the ecological landscape of preservation areas can have considerable impacts on plant diversity indices. Hence, the preservation and management of surrounding areas are essential conservation elements for protecting the entire ecological landscape of preservation areas.

지역경관자원을 활용한 제주상효식물원 계획 (Master Plan for Jeju Sanghyo Botanical Garden using local landscape resources)

  • This study is a plan for the Jeju Sanghyo Botanical Garden construction, and it is prepared to maintain the identity of the local landscape by composing the garden using the local landscape resources. The goals of becoming one of world's best, garden centered botanical garden and at the same time one that represents culture of Jeju. Unusual species are included in the collection and with the general collection, special collection and exhibition by different kinds are planned to be offered to the public. The garden will demonstrate the world's various types of gardens in a compressed way. It is our endeavor to become center of culture beyond plant education and exhibition, drawing a large number of people to our garden. Moreover, conservation of Jeju's unique botanic resources will be carried out and the garden will show the garden culture. Due to the size of the site, different themes will be exhibited in one zone in a parallel. Unique combination of each local landscape resource will create own theme. The display will be divided into three different stages: the 1st stage is an educational exhibition, assisting more understanding of distinguishing different locations, the second is exhibition by various species and the final stage will show an ideal way to develop a garden with harmony of various plant species.

도시공원 야간이용의 공공안전성 제고를 위한 요인 정합성 평가 (Perception of Public Safety of Night Users in Neighborhood Parks)

  • To increase the night use level, this study was analyzed perception of users about the public safety, and extracted main variables which were influencing public safety. The public safety was evaluated by the actual (on site) and nonactual users (off site) and the Delphi method. The night users of female and the elders were relatively more than male and the young respectively as compared with day. Walking was predominant in approaching means. In public safety ratings, $\boxDr$vuknerability to violence$\boxUl$varied accoding to sex, income, education, marriage, job, age. $\boxDr$crowding, $\boxDr$noise$\boxUl$ were important variables in satisfying users at night. $\boxDr$Lack of surveillance, $\boxDr$harassment of other person$\boxUl$, $\boxDr$rowdy behavior in poorer visibility$\boxUl$, $\boxDr$fear in lower intensity of light$\boxUl$ and $\boxDr$vulnerability to violence$\boxUl$stood high , so it is required guarantee of security guard to enhance the park use at night Although the ratings between field and indoor evaluation were somewhat different the variables had so similiar rant.

장소 취약도에 대한 경관지표로서의 인간의 대응 (Human Responses as Landscape Indicators of the Place Vulnerability)

  • 제방 건설과 같은 인간 반응은 홍수와 같은 지형재해로 인해 발생하는 장소의 취약성에 대한 일종의 공간적 표현이다. 인간 반응은 장소의 취약성을 줄이기 위한 모든 인간 활동이 포함되며 이러한 인간의 반응은 지형재해 감소보다는 취약도 감소와 더 관련된다. 환경 인지에 대한 인간의 다양한 반응에 따라 장소의 취약도도 변화한다. 인간은 경험적인 위험 인지를 통하여 다양한 반응을 하고 이 반응은 공간에 반영된다. 인간 반응을 통하여 장소의 취약도를 예측하고 모형화하는데 있어 계량화가 가능하다. 지형재해에 대한 역동적 취약도 모형구축을 위해서는 지역의 지형형성작용에 대한 기초조사와 함께 인간의 반응에 대한 지도화가 요구된다.

위성영상 분석에 의한 만포-강계 지역 경지확대에 따른 산림경관 변화 (Landscape Fragmenation of Forest of the Cropland Increase Using Landsat Images of Manpo and Gangae, Jagang Cities, Northwest Korea)

  • 본 연구는 1993년과 2002년의 위성영상의 비교분석을 통해 북한 만포 강계 지역의 9년간의 경지확대에 따른 산림경관 변화를 정량적으로 분석한 것이다. 연구 대상지역에서의 농경지는 9년 동안 49.9% 증가하였고, 산림지는 16% 감소하였다. 농경지 개간의 공간적 분포 특성을 보면, 경작지의 평균고도는 1993년의 381m에서 412m로, 경사도는 $10^{\circ}$에서 $13^{\circ}$로 상승하였다. 9년 동안 확대 개간지 자체만을 보면 평균고도 455m, 경사도 $15^{\circ}$ 이르며, 최대 경사도는 $70^{\circ}$에 육박하였다. 파편화에 따른 패치 경향을 보면, 1993년에서 2002년 동안 패치수 394에서 1,241개로 증가하였으며, 패치의 증가와 함께 패치의 형태지수와 프랙탈 차원도 약간 증가하였다. 경작지 개간 고도는 $450{\sim}750$에서 가장 많이 진행되었다. 북한 농업 생산성은 정치 및 사회구조의 개건, 농업 발전을 위한 외부지원, 산지삼림의 복원이 동시에 이루어져야 개선될 것으로 보인다.

초등학교 옥외 환경학습공간 조성 (The Creation of Outdoor Environmental Education Space at an Elementary School)

  • As recognition and polices for plans to preserve natural resources and to develop environment-friendly space in school education is developed, not only organization of curriculums related to these is required but also facilities for the education are indispensable. Therefore, this study tries to suggest several standards on matters including kinds and scale of facilities and the introduction of species by facilities required for outdoor teaming spaces for environmental education in the elementary school system. The methods of this study include researching various records related to environmental education in elementary school, researching the present condition of outdoor learning space installed and operating in the existing schools by making an on-the-spot survey, and analyzing appearance frequencies of plants and animals displayed in the text. In addition, the actual conditions of the facility use and management were investigate through a questionnaire, We chose and diagrammed a model of the installed facilities by putting the results together. For analyses the investigated eight schools, were categorized as ‘facilities-arranged type’or ‘connection type with ecological park’. The first type distributed and arranged facilities, including meteorological observatory, rocky park, experience-learning area, ecological pond, animal-breeding farm and field-leaning area into appropriate locations according to the site conditions of the school while the second type created a natural learning place by integrating several facilities and arranging areas such as an animal-breeding farm and experience-learning area into appropriate sites. In this study, essential facilities for outdoor learning are classified into ecological park, experience-loaming area, field loaming area, and for natural learning, meteorological observatory, animal-breeding farm, and greenhouse.

시설원예단지 경관개선 시뮬레이션 이미지 평가 연구 (A Study on the Simmulation Image Evaluation for the Landscape Improvement of Horticultural Complex in Rural Area)

  • This study was aimed at improving the landscape agricultural facilities. Agricultural production spaces such as rice paddies and fields are a representative landscape of rural areas. These landscapes should be aesthetically presentable and as such, they require proper landscape planning and management. However, the construction of infrastructure in these landscapes presents environmental and ecological problems. As a result, the unique aesthetics in landscapes such as rice paddies is disrupted by infrastructure development. The construction of infrastructural complexes takes away the pleasantness of the natural landscape. Photographic slides were variable elements were systematically removed in the landscape were used. The original plan and its alternatives (1, 2, 3, 4) in the BV, JV, JG, and GG regions were evaluated using the Likert scale and AHP methods. Statistical analysis was conducted using ANOVA. The results indicate that the removal of variable elements, expansion of separation distance, and the planting of green plants had a positive effect on all parameters. Improvement of landscapes containing infrastructural complexes can be achieved by the use of image simulation.

우리나라 동남부 지역의 토지 이용과 기후 패턴 변화 분석 (Land Use Changes and Climate Patterns in Southeast Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 위성 자료를 기반으로 생성된 토지피복 정보를 시계열적인 분석을 통해 지난 30년간 부산 경남 지역의 경관 구조 변화를 추적하고 해당 지역 기온 변화와의 상관성을 파악하였다. 토지 피복 자료의 기하학적 구조를 정량화하기 위해 경관구조 분석 프로그램인 FRAGSTATS를 사용하여 토지피복별 경관지수를 산출하였다. 이를 통해 주요 토지이용의 변화상과 개발에 따른 경관의 분절화 과정을 확인하였다. 부산과 경남 지역의 10개 측후소 자료에 따르면, 부산의 평균 기온은 1980년대 $14.1^{\circ}C$에서 2000년대 $14.8^{\circ}C$로 증가하였고, 경남 지역의 평균 기온은 1980년대 $13.2^{\circ}C$에서 2000년대 $13.9^{\circ}C$로 증가하였다. 이러한 장기 기온 변화패턴은 도시화와 같은 우리나라 동남부의 전형적인 경관구조 변화와 상관성을 갖는 것으로 판단된다. 부산시 분석 자료에 의하면, 지난 30년간 도시역은 전체 면적의 9.7%에서 26.8%로 증가하였고, 산림과 농경지는 각각 58%에서 48.4%로, 28.3%에서 13.4%로 감소하였다. 해당 기간별 기온자료와 비교해보면, 도시역이 증가하고 산림과 농경지 면적이 꾸준히 감소함에 따라 부산의 평균기온이 1990년대 이후 큰 폭으로 증가하였다. 경남지역의 도시역 면적은 12배 이상 증가해 매우 빠른 도시화를 겪었다. 도시화에 따른 기온 변화는 지역적으로 구분되었는데, 경남 해안지역은 기온상승의 폭이 가장 낮았고 중부경남에 이어 내륙 산악지역에서 가장 높은 기온증가율이 나타났다.

시민참여형 도시온도 모니터링의 실효성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Effectiveness of Urban air temperature Through Citizen Participation)

  • At the point of implementing policies related to urban heat through the overall environmental assessment of the city using national data, citizen science projects that can collect data in a wide range are emerging for effective policy establishment. Although the utility of citizen data is improving, data quality is a primary concern for researchers employing public participation in scientific research. In this study, validation was conducted based on citizen data acquired in the "Suwon City Heat Map Project", and the applicability to temperature monitoring was confirmed based on the results. As a result of analyzing the validity verification of citizen data using three methods, the data result value is 0.843, RMSE: 0.683℃, and a meaningful value was found within 3km of national data. We found that citizen data utilization is high through the results of this study and These projects are expected to be used as basic data for establishing effective policies or can be reflected in the various planning.
