Indicies of the labor productivity were assessed from 80 industry foodservice erstablishments in terms of meals served per labor hour, labor minutes per meal served, and labor cost per meal served. The labor productivity indicies were also assessed according to variables related to work such as working hours, paryment for the workers, volume of feeding, utilization of foodservice equipment, use of processed foods, and background of employees. The summary of the results was as follows: 1. Manufacturing sector among surveyed industry foodservice showed the highest labor productivity indicies followed by training institute. 2. 28.8% of surveyed establishments used dishwashing machine, while manual dishwashing was used in 71.3% of subjects, equipped rate point was 9.8 out of 20, and disposable dish was used in 30% of subjects. 3. A significant positive relationship was found between the number of meals and the labor procductivity indicies. As the number of meals increased, more meals were served per worker as per labor hour. 4. A significant negative relationship was found between price of meal and the labor productivity didicies. As the price of meal increased, less meals were served per worker as well as per labor hour.
Today, about 99% of total import and export cargo in Korea is being transported through the port. The general trends of cargo handling show increases in capacity and speed, In order to cope with these trends, it is not only required to raise the efficiencies of port operation and function but also necessary to decide the optimal amount of the skilled labor force for cargo handling in the port. Cargo handling in the port is basically relied on the cargo handling facilities. Therefore, it is very important to reserve the amount of labor force for cargo handling system has been developed up to a certain level but the personnel management system which is the superior structure has not been followed well. In this study, therefore, we show a method to determine the required amount of labor force for cargo handling considering the amount of cargo and type of cargo handling work per each cargo, and the optimal amount labor force in cope with the fluctuation of the basic cargo handling labor force with respect to the time of in and out cargo flow in the viewpoint of minimizing the expences due to reservation of extra labor force than needed and firing employment of labor force using the Dynamic Programming. The derived algorithm is introduced into the computer simulation for Pusan port with the analyzed real data such as amount of cargo handling in the port with respect to working hour, cargo capacity, working step, the ratio of cargo handling facility and actual number of workers and we estimated the required labor force. As a result of analysis the labor force of Pusan port showed the over-employment such as maximum 21.4%, minimum 8.2% when we assumed that the averages of actual working hours and days were 8 hours in a day and 20 day in a month.
This study investigates why the Married Female Production Workers(MFPW) participate in their work and what is work load they take. This study uses an ecosystems approaches in order to explain the labor participation of the MFPW and their work load. MFPW participate in their work because of the labor markets need and economic need of their household rather than their personal choice. Due to the long working hours, low wage and bad labor conditions of MFPW's job, they suffer more severe work load both at the fob and at home than any other occupational groups.
Labor contracts appear in form as an exchange relationship between labor products and wages, but since they transcend the level of simple barter, they can be economically identified as "trading" and can be identified as "rental." From a legal point of view, a legal device that legally supports and imposes binding force on commodity exchange relations is a contract. Such a labor contract led to a relationship in which wages were received and a certain amount of time was placed under the direction and supervision of the employer as a counter benefit to the receipt of wages. Since working hours are subordinate hours with one's labor under the disposition authority of the employer, long hours of work can be done for the health and safety of workers and furthermore, it can be an act that violates the value to enjoy as a human being. The reduction of working hours needs to be shortened in terms of productivity and enjoyment of workers' culture so that they can expand and reproduce, but users' corporate management labor and production activities should also be compatible compared to those pursued by capitalist countries. Working hours can be seen as individual time and time in society as a whole, and long hours of work at the individual level are reduced, which is undesirable at the individual level, but an increase in products due to an increase in production time at the social level can help social development. It is necessary to consider working hours in terms of finding the balance between these individual and social levels. If the regulation method of working hours was to regulate the total amount of working hours, flexibility and elasticity of working hours are a qualitative regulation method that allows companies to flexibly allocate and organize working hours within a certain range of up to 52 hours per week. Accordingly, it is necessary to shorten working hours, but expand and implement the flexible working hours system according to the situation of the company. To this end, it is necessary to flexibly operate the flexible working hours system, which is currently limited to six months, handle the selective working hours by agreement between employers and workers, and expand the target work of discretionary working hours according to the development of information and communication technology and new types based on the 4th industrial revolution.
Using careful background research and methodology, we proposed a revised sectoral index of vulnerability that is directly applied to two central labor examples: working hours and minimum wages. The valued calculated by each specific index represent the degree of weakness in corresponding conditions at the level of workplace units. Our proposed vulnerability index promises to be applicable to all business units under labor spot inspection. Also, it can be easily updated as the business environment evolves. The index is useful in selecting certain groups of business units and in evaluating the effectiveness of each regional government office.

Given the dramatic increase in the percentage of married women working in clercial occupations and the inflexibility of work commitments for employees working in this domain, this paper investigates the division of household labor between married female clerical workers and their husbands, and their sources of external help. The total housework time of couples, the percent of total housework done by husbands, and a scale measuring the wife’s perception of the frequency with which her husband does specific household tasks are all used to measure the division of household labor between couples. Data for 143 couples were gathered from using structured questionares and the time dairies that included one weekday and one weekend day. The findings of this study are as follows; 1) The couples receive substantial support in housework from their mothers. 2) Wives spend an average of 23 hours and 26 minutes per week on household labor, whereas husbands spend an average 7 hours and 7 minutes per week. Husbands do an average of 20.9% of all housework done by the couples. Wives typically perceive that their husbands are not frequently participating in a variety of household tasks(mean = 2.88 on a 5-point Likert scale where 1=never and 5=always). 3) Multivariate analysis reveal that working hours is negatively related to while the presence of child under 6 years old is positively related to total housework. Time availability variables(e.g. working hours and the presence of child under 6 years old) and relative resource variables(e.g. the rate of wife’s income on that of husband) are related to the percent of total housework done by husbands. The sex-role attitude variables are related to the wife’s perceptions of the frequency with which her husband does specific household tasks.
The purposes of this study were to : a) investigate actual time spent and expected labor time spent on management activities, and b) develop standardized indices of dietetic staffing needs in employee foodservice. A job analysis questionnaires were developed and mailed to 65 dietitians who were members of The Korean Dietetic Association Practice Group, members with management responsibilities in employee foodservices. Completed questionnaires were received from 32 dietitians for a response rate of 49%. The questionnaire contained two parts with a total of 99 statements. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS programs for descriptive analysis, wilcoxon signed ranks test, wilcoxon rank sum test, and pearson correlation. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The actual time spent on management activities by dietitians in employee foodservice was 69.80 hours and expected labor time spent was 61.81 hours. And they were significantly different (p<0.05). 2. ILO allowance rate( 11%) was applied: The standardized working hours per week of dietitians working in employee foodservice with manufacturing and industrial plants, and office building were 79.61 and 64.25 respectively ; Staffing need indices were 1.81 and 1.46 respectively on the base of 44 working hours. 3. The average standardized working hours per week was 68.61 hours and staffing need indices was 1.56
Objectives: This study was designed to determine the relationship among emotional labor, perceived organizational support, and job attitude in public health centers. Results: First, emotional dissonance had no effect on perceived organizational support. However, emotional endeavor had a positive effect on perceived organizational support. Second, perceived organizational support had a significant effect on job attitude. Third, emotional labor had no effect on job satisfaction, but emotional labor had a positive effect on job commitment. Fourth, perceived organizational support had a full mediating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and job attitude. The implications of this study are as follows. Conclusions: Higher emotional labor leads to lower job satisfaction and job commitment in public officials, thereby affecting job attitude. Accordingly, various systematic methods, such as flexible working hours and personnel policy, need to be implemented to alleviate the negative effects of emotional labor.

After the new standards for labor hours has been released, various problems come up in construction field, such as income reduction of employees, extension of construction period and increased construction cost. Although it is expected that the impact of the new standard on the construction industry is more worse than other industries form the view of productivity, not much works have been done to identify those impacts. Thus, this research proposes the standard construction processes, excavation cycle, and unit construction period for NATM tunnel project based on 'Construction Standard Production Rates.'The study also investigated the impact of reduced labor hours on the management of work crews, construction periods and costs of tunnel projects. The results showed that under the 52 labor hour standard, the construction periods for the excavation work and whole project was increased by 20% and 8.9%, respectively, but the construction costs for the excavation work and whole project was decreased by 1.4% and 0.6%, respectively.
Ridger and vinyl mulcher for 8-10 PS power tiller which were distributed at the rate of one out of 2.3 farm households in Korea, was developed to ease the labor shortage of tobacco production. Devices wheel shaft extension by 30cm at both sides improved the stability of straight drive and enabled to save required labor hours by 50% for ridging at sloping field. Screw type blades were attached on center drive rotavator shaft, gear set was deviled to reverse the rotavator, and it was good at need to adjust the width and height for ridge. As the results, required labor hours for ridging and vinyl mulching could be saved by 90% as compared to conventional manual method after cattle plowing, and by 50% as compared to conventional power tiller method.
