  • Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of CMM oral administration and herbal acupuncture at BL13 LU4 on Asthma induced by ovalbumin in rats Methods : Several experimental items were measured and compared each other ; that is body weight change, oxygen consumption rate, Albumin change, white blood corpuscle change, Erythrocyte change, IgE change. Results : 1. Body weight was significantly increased in herbal acupuncture group after its administration while there was no such a response in oral administration group. 2. Oxygen Consumption rate was significantly increased in oral administration group and herbal acupuncture group. 3. Albumin in serum was significantly increased in oral administration group after its administration while there was no such a response in herbal acupuncture group. 4. White blood corpuscle in blood was significantly increased in oral administration group after its administration while there was no such a response in herbal acupuncture group. 5. Erythrocyte in blood was significantly increased in oral administration group after its administration while there was no such a response in herbal acupuncture group. 6. IgE in blood was decreased in oral administration group and herbal acupuncture group but there was no significance in oral administration group and herbal acupuncture group. Conclusion : Based on the above results it is assumed that CMM oral administration and CMM herbal acupuncture can help the treatment of Asthma induced by ovalbumin in rats.

  • Rock-mass grouting plays a crucial role in the construction of dams and deep caverns, effectively preventing seepage in the foundations, enhancing stability, and mitigating hazards. Most rock grouting is affected by hydrogeological and rock engineering indices such as rock quality designation (RQD), rock mass quality (Q-value), geological strength index (GSI), joint spacing (Js), joint aperture (Ap), lugeon value (Lu), secondary permeability index (SPI), and coefficient of permeability (K). Therefore, accurate geological analysis of basic rock properties and guidelines for grouting construction are essential for ensuring safe and effective grouting design and construction. Such analysis has been applied in dam construction sites, with a particular focus on the geological characteristics of bedrock and the development of prediction methods for grout take. In South Korea, many studies have focused on grout injection materials and construction management techniques. However, there is a notable lack of research on the analysis of hydrogeological and rock engineering information for rock masses, which are essential for the development of appropriate rock grouting plans. This paper reviews the current state of research into the correlation between the grout take with important hydrogeological and rock engineering indices. Based on these findings, future directions for the development of rock grouting research in South Korea are discussed.

  • The result as following one was founded that investigate cause and acupuncture point for symptoms of headache; 1. Headache in distinction from doo-pung(頭風.) was defined that it' period is short and treatment is easy. 2. The cause of headache was classified according to the interior and exterior cause of the body. 3. Total number of used acupuncture point was one hundred and six, and in order of using time acupuncture point was appeared as LI4(15), LU7(12), GB20(12), BL2(11), GV20(9), TE23(9), SI3(7), GV24(7), GV23(7) 4. The meridian distribution of acupuncture point is appeared as Bladder Meridian(21points), Gallbladder Meridian(18points), Governer vesseI(14points), Triple Energizer meridian(12points), Large Intestine Meridian(9points), Small Intestine Meridian(7points), Stomach Meridian(7points) 5. According to headache position, the distribution of acupuncture point $Yangmy\check{o}ng\;Ky\check{o}ng$ and Governer vessel was used to frontal headache, Soyang $Ky\check{o}ng$ to migraine, Taeyang $Ky\check{o}ng$ and Governer vessel to occipital headache. 6. LI4(合谷) and LU7(列缺) was used to general headache as basic acupuncture point.

  • A fifteen-year-old spayed female Pug was referred to Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Seoul National University. The clinical sign was a restriction of the movement of the headneck and acutely presented for 5 days ago. On the basis of physical, laboratory and radiological examinations, the dog was diagnosed acute torticollis (wry neck). We treated two times the dog with acupuncture therapy for 2 weeks. The acupuncture points BL10, BL11, LU7 and SI3 were used. When the dog was rechecked at three weeks after the therapy, torticollis was disappeared and voluntarily head movement found. Thus, it is suggested that traditional acupuncture might be effective therapy for acute torticollis.
