  • While in the past map-making process by field survey devices such as MicroStation needs more time relatively, we can make more precise map effectively with airbone LiDAR and GPS devices. Also the data, captured by LiDAR, are very large in size and so it needs to use Relational DBMS to manage and process LiDAR data. In this study we propose how to store and manage LiDAR data using RDBMS.

Electrochemical Properties of LiNiO$_2$/Li cell (LiNiO$_2$/Li cell의 전기화학적 특성)

  • The propose of this study is research and improvement of LiNiO$_2$as cathode material for Lithium secondary batteries. LiNiO$_2$is prepared by heating LiOH . $H_2O$ and Ni(OH)$_2$(mole ratio 1 : 1) on various heat condition. In the result of XRD mesurement, all LiNiO$_2$prepared at this study showed hexagonal structure. In Cyclic Voltammetry, LiNiO$_2$is not conspicous about oxidation peak but oxidation curve change steeply over 3.8V and reduction peak discover at 3.6V. In discharge capacities, specific capacity is higher $O_2$than air when preliminary heated and 75$0^{\circ}C$ than $700^{\circ}C$, 80$0^{\circ}C$ when heated. Therefore, when preliminary heat at $650^{\circ}C$ $O_2$and heat at 75$0^{\circ}C$ carried out, discharge property is the best.

  • We have investigated the $LiMn_2O_4$system as an cathode material for lithium rechargeable batteries. $LiMn_2O_4$spinel oxides have been synthesized by a solid state methode. We varied sintering time at a fixed sintering temperature of 75$0^{\circ}C$. In order to investigate the electrochemical properties of prepared $LiMn_2O_4$we assembled three-electrode cells using the working electrode as active material and Li metal as the counter and reference electrodes. The electrolyte was 1 M LiPE$_{6}$-EC:DEC(1:1 by volume). The particle size of sample synthesized at 75$0^{\circ}C$ ranged about 60$\mu m$. The discharge capacity of a cell involving spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ increased with increasing sintering time.e.

  • Objectives : This study was aimed at examining the effects of the application of EA (electroacupuncture) at GV20 and LI4 in the early cerebral ischemia on the size of cerebral infarction, COX-2 and IL-6. Methods : For this experiment, 21, six-week-old male S-D (Sprague - Dawley) rats weighting 160g to 200g were selected and randomly classified into 3 groups, seven rats in each group. Brain ischemia was simulated using a modified Koizumi method which was performed on each rat. In the GV20 group, the GV20 of the SD rats was stimulated for thirty minutes with acupunctural electrode low frequency stimulator five hours after inducement of ischemia. For the LI4 group, the LI4 was stimulated as above, while for the Ischemia group, no stimulation was applied. Twenty-four hours after the experiment, stained cerebral tissues were examined and an immuno-histological test was done to examine inflammatory reaction Results : Out of the three groups, the LI4 group showed the smallest size of cerebral infarction and the Ischemia group showed the highest COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) expression value in the cortex of the cerebrum. In addition, the LI4 group showed the lowest COX-2 expression value in unknown putamen out of the three groups. Conclusions : We infer that EA, applied at LI4 and GV20 in early ischemia, is effective in delaying the expression of IL-6 (interleukin-6) and COX-2, the inflammatory agents manifested from stroke. In addition, application at LI4, rather than GV20, can lower the expression value of the inflammatory agents. Further, EA can be an effective way to block early inflammatory reaction in stroke.

Crystal Structure and Dielectric Property of $LiATiO_4$ Spinel Phase ($LiATiO_4$ 스피넬 상의 결정구조 및 유전특성)

  • The electrical properties such as dielectric constants and dielectric losses in the spinel samples of $LiGaTiO_4$, Li(Ga,Eu)$TiO_4$, $Li(Ga.Yb)TiO_4$ have been characterized by varying measuring temperature and frequency. The long range order structures are analyzed by rietveld refinement method. and local atomic disorder structures are analyzed by MEM (maximum entropy method). The relation between the crystal structure and dielectric properties are discussed. $LiGaTiO_4$ spinel has the IMMA with lattice constant, a = 5.86333, b=17.5872. c = 8.28375 ${\AA}$, Li-sites are partially substituted by Ga or Ti. Two crystallographic oxygen sites are partially occupied(40~50%). The dielectric constants of $LiGaTiO_4$, $LiYbTiO_4$, and $LiGa_{2/6}Eu_{1/6}Ti_{1.5}O_4$ ceramics were 127, 75 and 272, respectively at 100 kHz. The dielectric relaxation were observed in the $LiGaTiO_3$ ceramics and the temperature where dielectric loss shows maximum was $390^{\circ}C$ at 1 kHz and increased with increasing the measuring frequency.

Thermal Release of LiCl Waste Salt from Pyroprocessing (파이로프로세싱 발생 LiCl염폐기물의 열발생)

  • The decay heat of Cs and Sr contained in a LiCl waste salt, generated from an electrolytic reduction process in pyroprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, has been calculated. The calculation has been carried out under some assumptions that most of the LiCl waste is purified and recycled to main process, and the residual is fabricated to make a waste form. As a result, the decay heat from daughter nuclides such as Ba and Y seems to be maximum 4.6 times higher than that from their parent nuclides such as Cs and Sr. The thermal release from Cs and Sr in the LiCl waste is the maximum around the first one month, so an cooling system operation for some time at the beginning would be suggested to control a rapid increase in the temperature of the LiCl waste salt.

  • Lithium secondary batteries have become an important power source for portable electronic devices such as cellular phones, laptop computers. Presently, commercialized lithium-ion batteries use a LiCoO2 cathode. However, due to the high cost and environmental problems resulting from cobalt, an intensive search for new electrode materials is being actively conducted. Recently, solid solution LiMn1-xNixO2 have become attractive because of high capacity and enhanced safety at high voltages over 4.5 V. The Li1.6Ni0.35Mn0.65O2 compounds were conventionally prepared by a sol-gel method, which can produce the layered Li-Ni-Mn-O compounds with a high homogeneity. And by adding a graphene 2wt% the first charge-discharge voltage profiles was increased over Li1.6Ni0.35Mn0.65O2 compound. Also, the variation s of the discharge capacities with cycling showed a higher capacity retention rater. In this study, material lifecycle evaluation was performed to analyze the environmental impact characteristics of Li1.6Ni0.35Mn0.65O2 & graphene 2wt% half-cell manufacturing process. The software of material life cycle assessment was Gabi. Through this, environmental impact assessment was performed for each process. The environmental loads induced by Li1.6Ni0.35Mn0.65O2 & graphene 2wt% synthesis process were quantified and analyzed, and the results showed that the amount of power had the greatest impact on the environment.

Optical Characterizations of $LiNbO_{3}$ Single Crystals Doped with $MgO/TiO_{2}$

  • The applicability of $LiNbO_{3}$ as a substrate for fabrication of Ti-indiffused waveguide electro-optic devices is limited. Ti diffuses comparatively in congruently melting $LiNbO_{3}$; the Curie temperature of this material is too low to permit diffusion temperatures much above $1100^{\circ}C$ without the necessity of re-poling the crystal. Both of hese difficulties could be eliminated by incorporating certain dopants in $LiNbO_{3}$. Crystals of $LiNbO_{3}$ doped with Ti and Mg were grown and evaluated. The electroptic coefficients and birefringence of $LiNbO_{3}$ doped crystals were measured at ${\lambda}=.6328$ and $1.32\;$\mu{m}$. Curie temperatures were measured. The Curie temperature of both undoped and Ti-doped $LiNbO_{3}$ was $1130^{\circ}C$; that for Mg-doped $LiNbO_{3}$ was $30^{\circ}$ higher. From these data, a composition for the crystals was estimated. Thermogravimetric data confirmed this estimate and showed that the composition of Mg : $LiNbO_{3}$ was $49.3{\pm}0.2mole%\;Li_{2}O$ ; the composition of the undoped and Ti : $LiNbO_{3}$ samples was $48.6{\pm}0.2mole%$. Diffusion of Ti into both Mg-doped and Ti-doped $LiNbO_{3}$ crystals was studied as a function of $Li/NbO_{3}$ ratio and temperature.

Improving Electrochemical Properties of LiFePO4 by Doping with Gallium

  • Ga-doped $LiFePO_4$ cathode materials were synthesized using a hydrothermal method. The microstructural characteristics and electrochemical performances were systematically investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, charge-discharge cycling, cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Among the as-prepared samples, $LiFe_{0.96}Ga_{0.04}PO_4$ demonstrates the best electrochemical properties in terms of discharge capacity, electrochemical reversibility, and cycling performance with an initial discharge capacity of $125mAh\;g^{-1}$ and high lithium ion diffusion coefficient of $1.38{\times}10^{-14}cm^2s^{-1}$ (whereas for $LiFePO_4$, these were $113mAh\;g^{-1}$ and $8.09{\times}10^{-15}cm^2\;s^{-1}$, respectively). The improved electrochemical performance can be attributed to the facilitation of Li+ ion effective diffusion induced by $Ga^{3+}$ substitution.

Effect of Counter Anions on Solid Electrolyte Interphase Formation on Graphite Electrodes in Propylene Carbonate-based Electrolyte Solutions

  • Herein, the effect of counter anions on the formation of a solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) in a propylene carbonate (PC)-based electrolyte solution was investigated. Although the reversible capacities were different, reversible intercalation and de-intercalation of lithium ions occurred in the graphite negative electrode in the PC-based electrolyte solutions containing 1 M $LiClO_4$, $LiPF_6$, $LiBF_4$, and $LiCF_3SO_3$ at low temperature ($-15^{\circ}C$). This indicated that the surface films acted as an effective SEI to suppress further co-intercalation and decomposition reactions at low temperature. However, the SEIs formed at the low temperature were unstable in 1 M $LiPF_6$ and $LiBF_4/PC$ at room temperature ($25^{\circ}C$). On the other hand, increasing reversible capacity was confirmed in the case of $LiCF_3SO_3/PC$ at room temperature, because the SEI formed at the low temperature was still maintained. These results suggest that counter anions are an important factor to consider for the formation of effective SEIs in PC-based electrolyte solutions.
