20세기초 유럽 디자이너들의 작품에 나타난 표현주의적 특성 (Characteristic of Expressionism on the European Designer's Works in the early 20th Century)

  • The purpose of this study is to observe artistic of Expressionism reflected to works of European costume designers by analizing works of seven major representative costume designers in the twentieth century. They are Mariano Fortuny, Paul poiret, Madelene Vionnet, Jean Patou, Jeanne Lanvin, Gabriel Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. These designers deployed individual and various creative costume design work with peculiar expresive techniques, which is based on the Expressionism. Although each creative work was made in extremely unique sense, there was comon expressive spirituality I their creative activity. The findings are as follows : 1. Based on the "Medieval-directed characteristic" which arose over all fields of art of those days, a modern and reformative clothing beauty was created by reanalyzing traditional motive. 2 Characteristic of Cubistic Expressionism were described in overall silhouette of clothing and fine decorative element. 3. Fantastic Expressionism, which pursued basic worth from the primitive and ethnic customs, effected costume style of early 20th century and draw such designers as Mariano Fortuny, Leon Bakst, Paul Poiet, Elsa Schiaqarelli to adopt intensive and primary color. And it also gave an impact against traditional concepts by accepting fantastic oriental Exoticism.Exoticism.

Vibration analysis of steel frames with semi-rigid connections on an elastic foundation

  • An investigation on the combined effect of foundation type, foundation flexibility, axial load and PR (semi-rigid) connections on the natural frequencies of steel frames is presented. These effects were investigated using a suitable modified FE program for cases where the foundation flexibility, foundation connectivity, and semi-rigid connections could be treated as equivalent linear springs. The effect of axial load on the natural frequency of a structure was found to be significant for slender structures subjected to high axial loads. In general, if columns of medium slenderness are designed without consideration of axial load effects, the frequency of the structure will be overestimated. Studies on the 3-story Los Angeles PR SAC frame indicate that the assumption of rigid connections at beam-column and column-base interfaces, as well as the assumption of a rigid foundation, can lead to significant errors if simplified design procedures are used. These errors in an equivalent static analysis are expected to lead to even more serious problems when considering the effect of higher modes under a non-linear dynamic analysis.

Revenue Maximizing Scheduling for a Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Station with Solar PV and ESS

  • The modern transportation and mobility sector is expected to encounter high penetration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) because EVs contribute to reducing the harmful emissions from fossil fuel-powered vehicles. With the prospective growth of EVs, sufficient and convenient facilities for fast charging are crucial toward satisfying the EVs' quick charging demand during their trip. Therefore, the Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (FECS) will be a similar role to gas stations. In this paper, we study a charging scheduling problem for the FECS with solar photovoltaic (PV) and an Energy Storage System (ESS). We formulate an optimization problem that minimizes the operational costs of FECS. There are two cost and one revenue terms that are buying cost from main grid power, ESS degradation cost, and revenue from the charging fee of the EVs. Simulation results show that the proposed scheduling algorithm reduces the daily operational cost by effectively using solar PV and ESS.

Hierarchical Fair Queueing: A Credit-based Approach for Hierarchical Link Sharing

  • In this paper, we propose a hierarchical packet scheduling technique to closely approximate a hierarchical extension of the generalized processor sharing model, Hierarchical Generalized Processor Sharing (H-GPS). Our approach is to undertake the tasks of service guarantee and hierarchical link sharing in an independent manner so that each task best serves its own objective. The H-GPS model is decomposed into two separate service components: the guaranteed service component to consistently provide performance guarantees over the entire system, and the excess service component to fairly distribute spare bandwidth according to the hierarchical scheduling rule. For tight and harmonized integration of the two service components into a single packet scheduling algorithm, we introduce two novel concepts of distributed virtual time and service credit, and develop a packet version of H-GPS called Hierarchical Fair Queueing (HFQ). We demonstrate the layerindependent performance of the HFQ algorithm through simulation results.

  • Well-differentiated papillary mesothelial tumor (WDPMT) is an uncommon tumor, formerly named well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma in the 2015 World Health Organization classification. It has a characteristic papillary architecture, bland cytologic features, a tendency toward superficial spread without invasion, and a good prognosis due to its clinically indolent behavior with prolonged survival. Rare cases with superficial invasion are termed WDPMT with invasive foci. WDPMT occurs primarily in the peritoneum of reproductive-age women, but also rarely in the pleura. We report a case of a 60-year-old woman who developed WDPMT with minimal invasion in the pleura with atypical radiological features and a family history of mesothelioma and indirect asbestos exposure.

  • 위성 전체 시스템의 동작과 임무 수행을 책임지고 있는 위성 탑재 소프트웨어의 개발 과정에서 위성 탑재 컴퓨터를 이해하고 소프트웨어가 동작하기 위한 환경을 구성하는 작업은 필수적인 과정이다. 위성 탑재 소프트웨어 개발의 초기 과정은 하드웨어와 매우 밀접하게 관련되어 있으며, 이러한 하드웨어의 동작을 보다 쉽게 테스트하기 위한 환경이 필요하게 된다. 최근 위성 탑재 컴퓨터로 널리 쓰이고 있는 LEON 2/3 플랫폼은 AHB-UART 를 이용하여 Memory 에 대한 직접적인 R/W Operation 을 지원하고 있는데, 본 논문에서는 이 기능을 이용하여 위성 탑재 컴퓨터를 보다 쉽게 테스트할 수 있는 테스트 스크립트 언어의 구현 방안에 대하여 기술하며, 더불어 이러한 테스트 언어의 구현에 있어 ANTLR 을 이용하는 방안도 함께 소개한다.

  • This article is dedicated to my colleague and friend Professor Soon-Kil Hong, Ph.D, who is the famous President of the Korean Association of Air and Space Law and distinguished teacher at the prestigious Hankuk Aviation University. I had the honour and pleasure to teach there a few years ago - upon his gracious invitation. Professor Soon-Kil Hong has made a long, outstanding and impressive career in aviation and space activities, both from a practitioners and academic perspective. That is why I have tried to find a subject which addresses these facets of his personality although this humble article cannot do justice to the great merits of Professor Soon-Kil Hong. This article discusses the liability aspects for damages and injuries to passengers on suborbital flights, by examining: 1. Recent developments regarding space tourism 2. Structure and optical properties of vapor grown In2O3: Ga nano-/microcrystals

  • Octahedral shaped single crystalline undoped and Ga-doped indium oxide nano-and microcrystals were fabricated using vapor-solid growth process. Effects of Ga doping on the crystallinity, defect structure, and optical properties of the nano-/microstructures have been studied using scanning electron microscopy, microRaman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. It has been observed that incorporation of Ga does not affect the morphology of $In_2O_3$ structures due to its smaller ionic radius, and similar oxidation state as that of In. However, incorporation of Ga in high concentration (~3.31 atom %) causes lattice compression, reduces optical band gap and defect induced CL emissions of $In_2O_3$ nano-/microcrystals. The single crystalline Ga-doped, $In_2O_3$ nano-/microcrystals with low defect contents are promising for optoelectronic applications.

Structure-Activity Relationship of Triterpenoids Isolated from Mitragyna stipulosa on Cytotoxicity

  • Chromatographic separation of the stem bark extract of Mitragyna stipulosa afforded triterpene derivatives ursolic acid (1), quinovic acid (2), quinivic acid $3-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ (3, quinovin glycoside C), quinovic acid 3-O-[$(2-O-sulfo)-{\beta}-D-quinovopyranoside$] (4, zygophyloside D) and quinovic acid $3-O-{\beta}-D-quinovopyranosyl-27-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyl$ ester (5, zygophyloside B). These five compounds were subjected to the cytotoxicity on MTT assay system. Compound 1 among tested showed the most potent cytotoxicity. Quinovic acid showed less potent cytotoxicity than ursolic acid and sugar linkages to 2 decreased the cytotoxicity. Compound 4 more potent than 3 with indicate that the sulfonyl group significantly enhances the activity. This indicates that the glycosidic linkage in ursane-type triterpenoids has mainly negative effect on cytotoxicity unlike in oleanane-type glycosides.

A New Flavonol Glycoside from Tristemma hirtum (Melastomataceae)

  • Chemical investigation of the plant Tristemma hirtum P. Beauv (Melastomataceae) resulted to the isolation of a new flavonol glycoside named quercetin-7-O-${\alpha}$-D-arabinofuranoside (1), together with nine known compounds including 3'-hexadecanoyl-2'-(9aZ)-tetradecanoyl-glycerol 1'-O-[${\beta}$-D-galactopyranosyl-(1'' ${\rightarrow}$ 6'')-${\alpha}$-D-galactopyranoside] (2), arjunolic acid (3), ${\beta}$-sitosterol-3-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (4), terminolic acid (5), quercetin (6), asiatic acid (7), maslinic acid (8), $1{\beta}$-O-galloylpedunculagin (9) and 6-hydroxyapigenin 7-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (10) from the methanol extract using normal and reversed phase column chromatography. The structures of these compounds were determined by comprehensive interpretation of their spectral data mainly including 1D- 2D-NMR ($^1H-^1H$ COSY, HSQC, and HMBC) spectroscopic and ESI-TOF-MS mass spectrometric analysis.
