  • In the present article, we give a set of axioms for determinants and traces of the l-tuples of commuting operators on a fixed finite dimensional vector space over a field when $l{\geq}2$. We describe them with or without a coherence assumption especially when k is the field of real numbers. Under the coherence assumption, it turns out that there are only a trivial determinant and trace over arbitrary field k. This leads us to formulate a more appropriate definition of the determinants. In this case, the set of determinants can be described in terms of the Milnor's K-theory. As for the traces, it is not clear to us how to correctly formulate a definition except for certain cases.

  • This paper presents on capacity design of DC-fed-traction system. The system is introduced including a characteristics of train, feeding network configuration, and design method of substation arrangements. Optimal design procedures is described, and program for capacity computation of the system is presented using the nodal equation, K.C.L, K.V.L, Ohm's law and superposition theory. For the proof of the proposed algorithm, we accomplished the simulation of DC traction system for HA-Nam LRT. By considering whole component in DC traction system the conclusion will be much precise.

  • This study was an attempt to present an appropriate way of interpreting L2 learners' linguistic behavior within Universal Grammar (UG) framework. Based on the Korean EFL adult learners' performance on the Subjacency violation sentences, the study suggested that the EFL learners are able to acquire subtle knowledge of target grammar and their linguistic behavior should be interpreted with the most recent version of UG theory, the Minimalist Program (MP) notion. The MP notion seems more plausible to accommodate incomplete L2 grammar while acknowledging UG-constrained interlanguage which the previous version, Principles and Parameters (P&P) approach, could not explain very well. The study observed no age-effects among the Korean EFL learners in their linguistic competence measured by the performance on the UG-constraint violation sentences. Having suggested that the MP notion can be a more reasonable tool to explain the EFL learners' linguistic behavior, the study introduced comprehensive hypotheses such as Constructionist Model (CM) and the Ontogeny Phylogeny Model (OPM).

  • Nondeterministic finite Rabin-Scott's automata without initial and final states (2 $\omega$-FA) are considered. In this paper they are used to define so called sets of obstruction used also in various alge-braic systems and to consider similar problems for the formal languages theory. Thus we define sets of obstructions of languages(or, rather, 2$\omega$-languages) of such automata. We obtain that each 2$\omega$-language defined by 2 $\omega$-FA has the set of obstruction being a regular language. And vice versa for each regular language L(containing no proper subword of its another word) there exists a 2$\omega$ -FA having L as the set of obstructions.

  • The filtering characteristics of planar distributed feedback (DFB) waveguides composed by gratings with different period are solved using equivalent transmission-line network. To analyze explicitly its band-pass and resonance properties, a longitudinal modal transmission-line theory (L-MTLT) based on Floquet's theorem and Babinet's principle is newly developed. The numerical results reveal that this approach offers a simple and analytic algorithm to analyze the filtering characteristics of cascaded DFB structure with different period, and the bandwidth and side-lobe suppression of cascaded DFB filter are sensitively dependent on the variation of aspect ratio and the number of grating at each region.

  • Eliminativist about mentality want to throw out propositional attitude. In this respect, according to R. G. Swinburne, Lynne R. Baker, this theory seems to be self refuting. But it is not so clear enough in what sense eliminativism is self refuting. There are several construals of self-refutation argument against eliminativism. Among them, Patricia Churchland's simple version is defended here. For doing this, we need to analyze William Ramsey's reconstruction of self- refutation argument and J. L. Mackie's famous concept of self-refutation. As a result of this analysis, we can understand most self-refutation arguments against eliminativism don't succeed to defeat eliminativism with this argument.

  • The first purpose of this paper is to design brand logo sign analysis frame, 'SCoL'(Analysis frame of signification and communication for the brand logo). It has semiotic view and communication function. And the second is to prove propriety of the suggested frame by application to social media brand logos. The SCoL frame is based on 4 features of logo sigh to have analytic consistency. Also, it covers whole semiological process with index, icon, symbol as signification understanding and reach communication step with Jakobson's theory. As the results, the findings are follow; The SCoL frame can be useful to get comprehensive semiotic understandings and communication functions about logo signs. The social media brands build their own meaning area with logo signs and they depend on different communication function.

  • The non-commutative torus $A_{\omega}=C^*(\mathbb{Z}^n,{\omega})$ may be realized as the $C^*$-algebra of sections of a locally trivial $C^*$-algebra bundle over $\widehat{S_{\omega}}$ with fibres $C^*(\mathbb{Z}^n/S_{\omega},{\omega}_1)$ for some totally skew multiplier ${\omega}_1$ on $\mathbb{Z}^n/S_{\omega}$. It is shown that $A_{\omega}{\otimes}M_l(\mathbb{C})$ has the trivial bundle structure if and only if $\mathbb{Z}^n/S_{\omega}$ is torsion-free.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the beam aspect ratio(L/h), hole diameter, hole location and stacking layer sequence ($[0/45/-45/90]_s$, $[45/0/-45/90]_s$ and $[90/45/-45/0]_s$) on natural frequencies of glass/epoxy perforated beams under room and high (40, 60, 80, and $100^{\circ}C$) temperatures for the common clamped-free boundary conditions (cantilever beam). The first three out of plane bending free vibration of symmetric laminated beams is studied by Timoshenko's first order shear deformation theory. For the numerical analyses, ANSYS 13.0 software package is utilized. The results show that the hole diameter, stacking layer sequence and hole location have important effect especially on the second and third mode natural frequency values for the short beams and the high temperatures affects the natural frequency values significantly. The results are presented in tabular and graphical form.

  • In this study, R/S analysis which was proposed by Mandelbrot & Wallis(1969) was applied to evaluate the presence of the fractal property in the cone tip resistance of in-situ CPT data. Hurst exponents(H) were evaluated in the range of $0.660\sim0.990$ and the average was 0.875. It was confirmed that a cone tip resistance data had the characteristic of fractals and it was expected that cone tip resistance data sets are well approximated by a fBm process with an Hurst exponent near 0.875. It was also observed that the boundary between layers were obviously identified as a result of R/S analysis and it will be usage in practices.
