Optimization of Cell Concentration and Dilution Rate in Cell Recycled Ethanol Fermentation (세포재순환 에탄올 발효에서 세포농도와 희석률의 최적화)

  • The rheological characteristics of the ethanol fermentation broth were pseudoplastic when the yeast concentration was above 150g/L. From the viewpoint of rheological properties, the cell concentration below 150g/L was recommended for ethanol fermentation. Since the cell floc was formed at the cell concentration of 100 g/L, yeast cells were not much plugged in the pores of the membrane. The cell concentration above 100g/L was desirable when considering the permeability of the membrane. Since ethanol productivity was the highest when the cell concentration was 130 g/L in cell recycled ethanol fermentation. The optimal dilution rate was determined at 1.3 h-1 at constant cell mass of 130g/L. At this dilution rate, the ethanol productivity and glucose conversion ratio ware 80 g/L$\cdot$h and 0.94, respectively.

  • Fed-batch fermentation was used to produce the high concentrations of poly-$\beta $-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) and poly-$\beta $-(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) (PHB/V). Specific growth rate ($\mu $), yield of cell from glucose (Y$_{x/s}$) were calculated from the two samples in 3 to 5 hours of interval and they were reflected on the determination of glucose feeding rate to maintain the glucose concentration at around 10 g/l in the culture broth. PHB was accumulated after the nitrogen became limited at 60 g/l of dry cell weight by changing ammonia water to 4N-NaOH solution. As results, the final dry cell weight (DCW) of 170 g/l, PHB of 115 g/l were obtained in 50 hours and the overall productivity was 2.4 g/l$\cdot $h. After PHB accumulation, cosubstrate of glucose and propionic acid (PA) was fed to accumulate PHB/V. But, PA feeding rate was decreased from 3 g/l$\cdot $h to 1 g/l$\cdot $h to prevent PA from accumulating to high level in the broth, which is very inhibitory to the cells. As results, DCW, PHB and PHV were 147.5 g/l, 90 g/l and 8 mole % of hydroxyvalerate, respectively.

  • The taxonomical properties of strain J-275L isolated from soil as a microorganism which produces extracellular adenine deaminase and cultural conditions for the enxyme production were studied. The hyphae of strain J-275L is fragmented into rod-or coccus-like elements. The elements of fragmented aerkal hyphae has smooth surfaces. The cell wall of the organism contains LL-diaminopimelic acid. Mycolic acid are not produced. As a result of taxonomical studies, strain J-275L is designated as Nocardioides sp. J-275L. The optimum medium for the enzyme production from Nocardioides sp.J-275L wascomposed of 0.5% peptone, 0.5% dextrin, 1% yeast extract, and 0.2% $K_{2}HPO_{4}$. The optimum initial pH of the medium was pH 7.5.

  • Eleven new compounds that are composed of bis(p-substituted phenyl) terephthalate unitand the decyloxy pendant as lateral were synthesized and their thermal and liquid crystalline properties were studied by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and on a hot-stage of a polarizing microscope. The ter-minal substituent groups of the compound were varied; X= -H(II-H), -F(lI-F), -CII(II-CI), -Br(ll-Br), -I(II-I), -$NO_2(lI-NO_2$), $-CF_3(II-CF_3$), -$OC_2H_5(II-OC_2H_5$), -$OC_4H_9(II-OC_4H_9$), -$C_6H_5(Il-C_6H_5$). The compounds of $II-OC_2H_5,\;II-OC_4H_9$ and $II-C_6H_5$ were monotropically nematic. In contrast, the compounds of Il-H, II-F, II-Cl, II-Br, II-I, $lI-NO_2$, $II-CF_3$, and II-CN did not show liquid crystalline properties.

  • 본 논문은 영상압축 표준의 하나로 표준화가 진행중 인 H.26L에 효율적인 저전력 움직임 추정 구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 방식은 움직임 추정에 사용하는 이전 프레임에서의 움직임 벡터 발생 빈도와 경향을 이용하여 계산량과 수행시간을 줄인다. 그리고 가변 블럭 정합을 고려하여 먼저 최소 블럭 크기 단위로 블럭 SAD를 계산한 후 다른 모드 블럭 SAD 를 계산으로 생성한다. 제안하는 방식은 기존의 저전력 블럭 정합 방식과 비교하여 최대 31% 전력 소모 감소가 이루어지며 완전 전역 탐색 블럭 정합 방식에 비해 평균 75-90%의 계산량이 감소된다.

  • Environments of electric power industries are fastly changing due to the WTO, opening of the capital market and free trade. Accordingly, it is very important to invest in technical developments for securing international competitive power. But our construction techniques in T/L are insufficient in comparing with the advanced countries. This paper suggests the status and prospect of construction techniques of domestic and foreign countries in T/L, including developing prospects of T/L constriction.

  • This study is focused on the thickness change in burring with stainless 409L according to the change of main design variables and forming conditions, to manufacture the automobile exhaust flange. Large plastic deformations by burring process decreases thickness of inner radius and occurs cracks. The optimal design of performs by the finite element analysis achieves adequate improvement of thickness decrease.

  • In this article, we first give the $L^p$ boundedness of the operator $D^2L^{-1}$ with BMO coefficients and a potential V satisfying an appropriate reverse $H{\ddot{o}}lder$ condition, then obtain global $W^{1,2}_p$ estimates for the nondivergence parabolic operator L with VMO coefficients and a potential V satisfying an appropriate reverse $H{\ddot{o}}lder$ condition.

  • Nickel was plated electrolessly on 304L stainless steel powder. To obtain uniform coating and dispension of powder, the bath was continuously agitated with magnetic stirrer. The various pH and bath temperatures were studied. The conditions were in the range of $pH4{\sim}10$ and $45{\sim}65^{\circ}C$, respectively. The coating morphologies were examined by SEM/EDS tests. The optimum condition was pH9 at $55^{\circ}C$.
