In order to select multifunctional powerful antagonistic biocontrol agent against red-pepper rotting fungi Phytophthora capsici, we isolated an indigenous antagonistic bacterium which produces antifungal substances and siderophores from a local soil of Kyongju, Korea. The isolated strain was identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens biotype F. The antibiotic produced from P. fluorescens 2112 inhibited hyphae growth and the zoospore germination of Phytophthora capsici. The favorable carbon, nitrogen source and salts for the production of antibiotic from P. fluorescens 2112 were glycerol, beef extract and LiCi at 1.0%, 0.5% and 5 mM, respectively. And antagonistic activity of P. fluorescens 2112 was confirmed against P. capsici in vivo.

In this paper, an internal GPS antenna for mobile phones is designed and fabricated. For the miniaturization of the antenna, high permittivity dielectric substrate((${\varepsilon}_r$=90) and small ground plane ($13mm{\times}13mm$) are used. To increase the receive gain, the antenna is composed with LNA(Low Noise Amplifier). Results of the manufactured antenna($13mm{\times}13mm{\times}8mm$) show that the maximum antenna gain is about 12 dBi, the axial ratio is less than 3 dB, and the current consumption of LNA is less than 4 mA.

This paper describes the performance improvement of transient response and the modeling of small aircraft onboard generator. As the characteristics of the stator coil which are a major parameters of transient response were improved, the characteristics of transient response could be increased, therefore, the improved generator can be satisfied with large and fast load changes. Established the control model of the generator, it could be possible to do the analysis of generator performance, and improve the operational stability of the generator system using the control model.

Oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathophysiology of many neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Baicalein. baicalin and wogonin. the major constituents of Scutellaria baicalensis. have been reported to exhibit antioxidant properties in many different bioassay systems. The present study evaluated neuroprotective effects of these flavonoids on various neuronal injuries induced in primary cultured rat cortical cells by oxidative stress. NMDA. oxygen-glucose deprivation. and $A{\beta}$(25-35). (omitted)

The $ED_{100p}$ is that value of the dose associated with 100p% response rate in the analysis of quantal response data. Brand, Pinnock, and Jackson (1973) studied the confidence bands of $ED_{100p}$ obtained by solving extremal values algebraically on the ellipsoid confidence region of the parameters in the simple logistic regression model. In this paper, we develope and illustrate a simpler method for obtaining confidence bands for $ED_{100p}$ based on the rectangular confidence region of parameters.

The dermatophytes was isolated from skin of the 175 healthy dogs and 22 dogs with pathological skin lesions at Pohang and Kyongju. The isolates were identified by the morphological appearance after cultivation and lactophenol cotton blue staining. 1, The isolation rates of dermatophytes were 8.5%(15/175) in dog with healthy skin and 27% (6/22) in dogs with pathological skin lesions. 2. From asymptomatic dogs, the isolation rates of dermatophytes in female dogs were higher than those in male dogs and those in young dogs were higher than those in old dogs. 3. Isolation rates of microsporum canis and trichophyton spp from asymtomatic dogs were 14 (93%) and 1(6.7%), respectively. 4. The causative agents of 6 dogs with fermatophytosis were identified as all M canis.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects socio-demographic and socio-psychological variables on the proppensity for conspicuous consumption of adolescents. The data used in this study were collected through questionnaires on 488 adolescents living in Kyongju City. The data were analyzed by using SPSS-win program. The specific objectives of this study were to invetigate the difference of adolescent consumers’ propensity for conspicuous consumption and to predict the independent effects on the propensity for conspicuous consumption by socio-demographic & socio-psychological variables The results of this study were as follows: 1) The adolescent consumers’propensity for conspicuous consumption was different significantly according to the socio-demographic variables such as school. the subjective level of household consumption. the allowance interval. the amount of allowance. 2) According to the results of the multipul regression-analysis were in the order of: materialism the frequency of communication with their friends. the perceived level of living. and the amount of allowance. These independent variables explain 29.8% of the total variance.

The Posuk-Chung Pavilion if a defunct irregular stone water channel in Kyongju, Korea, once used for the meandering stream feast'by kings of Silla Dynasty during the first millennium. The poets were seated around this stone water channel who composed the Chinese poems, overlooking the streams. They load to take the punishment drinks unless they finished the poem before the drifting cup filled with the rice wine arrived at their seats on the meandering stream. In this paper, we have made computer simulation as well as well as model experiment on the ancient meandering stream of the Posuk-Chung Pavilion. The computational results are compared with the experiment and the channel flow characteristics are delineated here. It is discussed how the present Posuk-Chung channel is morphologically distinguished from the Chinese and Japanese meandering streams.

The postsynaptic density (PSD) is a cytoskeletal specialization that is involved in the regulation of synaptic signal transduction. Mainly due to the hydrophobic nature of the PSD proteins, characterization of this intriguing structure at the molecular level has been very intractable until early 1990s. However, recent development in protein microchemistry and molecular cloning techniques allowed identification and characterization of the PSD proteins. As expected, cytoskeletal proteins constitute major components of the PSD. Other major PSD proteins have been identified by protein sequencing, and their genes were used to fish out associating proteins by yeast two-hybrid system expanding our knowledge on the molecular structure of the PSD significantly. In this review, I summarize proteins that are so far identified focusing on the glutamatergic synapses.
