본 논문은 얼굴의 표정 인식을 이용한 위험상황 인지 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안방법은 인간의 다양한 감정 표정 중 위험상황을 인지하기 위한 표정인 놀람과 공포의 표정을 인식한다. 제안방법은 먼저 얼굴 영역을 추출하고 검출된 얼굴 영역으로부터 눈 영역과 입술 영역을 추출한다. 각 영역에 Uniform LBP 방법을 적용하여 표정을 판별하고 위험 상황을 인식한다. 제안방법은 Cohn-Kanade 데이터베이스 영상을 대상으로 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과 표정 인식에 좋은 결과를 보였으며 이를 이용하여 위험상황을 잘 판별하였다.

감성 인식 기술은 사회의 여러 분야에서 요구되고 있는 필요한 기술이지만, 인식 과정의 어려움으로 인해 풀리지 않는 문제로 낡아있다. 특히 얼굴 영상을 이용한 감정 인식 기술에서 얼굴 영상을 분석하는 기술 개발이 필요하다. 하지만 얼굴분석을 어려움으로 인해 많은 연구가 진행 중이다. 된 논문에서는 감정 인식을 위한 얼굴 영상 분석 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 얼굴 영상 분석 알고리즘은 얼굴 영역 추출 알고리즘과 얼굴 구성 요소 추출 알고리즘으로 구성된다. 얼굴 영역 추출 알고리즘은 다양한 조명 조건에서도 강인하게 얼굴 영역을 추출할 수 있는 퍼지 색상 필터를 사용한 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 얼굴 구성 요소 추출 알고리즘에서는 가상 얼굴 모형을 이용함으로써 보다 정확하고 빠른 얼굴 구성 요소 추출이 가능하게 하였다. 최종적으로 모의실험을 통해 각 알고리즘들의 수행 과정을 살펴보았으며 그 성능을 평가하였다.

사람의 눈동자는 얼굴 크기와 비교해 볼 때 상대적으로 일정한 거리를 가지고 있기 때문에 이미지 정규화에 있어서 중요한 지표로 사용된다. 이 논문은 이러한 특징을 이용해 최적화된 세그멘테이션 방법을 사용하여 눈동자 검출의 새로운 접근방법을 소개한다. 눈 검출 방법은 세 가지 중요한 단계로 나눌 수 있다. (1)흑백 영상에서 눈 영역에 적합한 에지 추출 방법, (2)레이블링(labeling) 기법을 이용한 눈 영역 추출, (3)밝기값 정보를 이용한 눈동자 위치 검출. 실험 결과로는 다양한 조명 환경과 얼굴표정을 가진 2408장의 FERET 영상을 이용하여 98.9%의 검출 성능을 보였다.

This paper presents a novel approach to control the augmented reality (AR) objects robustly in a marker-less AR system by fingertip tracking and hand pattern recognition. It is known that one of the promising ways to develop a marker-less AR system is using human's body such as hand or face for replacing traditional fiducial markers. This paper introduces a real-time method to manipulate the overlaid virtual objects dynamically in a marker-less AR system using both hands with a single camera. The left bare hand is considered as a virtual marker in the marker-less AR system and the right hand is used as a hand mouse. To build the marker-less system, we utilize a skin-color model for hand shape detection and curvature-based fingertip detection from an input video image. Using the detected fingertips the camera pose are estimated to overlay virtual objects on the hand coordinate system. In order to manipulate the virtual objects rendered on the marker-less AR system dynamically, a vision-based hand control interface, which exploits the fingertip tracking for the movement of the objects and pattern matching for the hand command initiation, is developed. From the experiments, we can prove that the proposed and developed system can control the objects dynamically in a convenient fashion.

The purpose of this study is to come up with a perspective that can enhance the understanding about the mechanism of fashion change. The starting idea of this study is that fashion has changed according to the ideal body image of the specific society or individual. The theoretical framework about the ideal body image has been studied by the literatures on the subject and it is verified by the analysis of John Galliano & Martin Margiela's fashion works. The results are as follows. First, Galliano exposes the woman's body as a sexual symbol which is articulated by men's eyes. Margiela describes the woman's body as human being which doesn't highlight any sexual characteristics. Second, Galliano emphasizes the body conscious silhouette whereas Margiela perceives the body as a whole, rather than looks into each body part. Third, Galliano uses lots of decoration to make display luxurious. Margiela restrains himself from using decorations and tries to create images by interaction between the clothes and bodies. Forth, Galliano expresses the eroticism by accentuating eyes and lips with strong color cosmetics. Margiela's fashion is not dazzling with makeup. He even covers the face with fabrics. Aesthetics in all societies is articulated by their hidden social power groups, and then it has influence on taking shape of the ideal body image and the mainstream of fashion. But the innate characters of individuals offer challenges to the fashion majority. The tension between the social power and individual character makes and changes the fashion.

Body has been high-lightened as one of the most important theme since the philosophy and the arts are focused on it in the late 20th century. It would be of worth to study the characteristics of contemporary fiber-art works, especially done by Abakanowiz who has been regarded as a dominant pioneer in the contemporary fiber-arts from the viewpoint of inter-grade of the physicals and the mental. This paper, therefore, deals with the Abaknowiz' works in the context of human body and body-signs. Life and works might be classified into 5 stages: first, learning period since her birth in 1930, second, creation period of Abakans, third, remodelling period of Abakans, fourth, composition and dissolution period of Abakans and the last and fifth, new transformation period of Abakans. 'Abakans' through her whole life as an artist have been a plastic language and based ultimately on external human body but in various materials and forms. Abakan as a human-sign uses the past experiences and the texts of the other world in mixed and overlapped forms. Life-size Abakans by Abaknowiz can be easily understood as Abakanowiz herself and her Polish ancestor at the same time. The neuter Abakans with mashed face and obscure body is a expressive figure of coexisting world with opposite concepts like war and ideology, anxiety and freedom, man and woman, and etc. Human body as body-sign is an extensive image has existed since our forefathers and overlapped with the inter textual and the popular images. 'Abakans' that is our world and inner-self at the same time might be a window through which she tries to show what the world is.

얼굴을 마주보며 인간끼리 대화하는 것처럼 인간과 자연스럽게 대화할 수 있는 휴먼인터페이스를 실현하기 위해서는 임성의 합성과 얼굴영상의 합성이 필요하다. 본 논문은 얼굴영상의 합성을 대상으로 한다. 얼굴영상의 합성에서는 표정변화와 입모양의 변화를 3차원적으로 실현하기 위하여 얼굴의 3차원 형상모델을 이용한다. 얼굴의 3차원 모델을 얼굴 근육의 움직임에 따라 변형하므로서 다양한 얼굴표정과 음절에 어울리는 입모양을 합성한다. 우리말에서 자모의 결합으로 조합가능한 음절은 14,364자에 이른다. 이 음절에 대한 입모양의 대부분은 모음에 따라 형성되고, 일부가 자음에 따라 달라진다. 그러므로, 음절에 어울리는 입모양의 변형규칙을 정하기 위해, 이들을 모두 조사하여 모든 음절을 대표할 수 있는 입모양패턴을 모음과 자음에 따란 분류한다. 그 결과, 자음에 영향을 받는 2개의 패턴과 모음에 의한 8개의 패턴, 총 10개의 패턴으로 입모양을 분류할 수 있었다. 나아가서, 분류된 입모양패턴의 합성규칙을 얼굴근육의 움직임을 고려하여 정한다. 이와같이 분류된 10개의 입모양패턴으로 모든 음절에 대한 입모양을 합성할 수 있고, 얼굴근육의 움직임을 이용하므로써 다양한 표정을 지으면서 말하는 자연스런 얼굴영상을 합성할 수 있었다.

개인별 신체 특성을 나타내는 가상피팅모델을 이용하여 제공되는 가상 착용 서비스는 웹을 기반으로 한 인터넷 의류 쇼핑의 흥미를 더해준다. 본 연구의 연구자들은 2000년과 2002년에 개발된 미국의 가상피팅모델과 국내에서 개발되었던 가상피팅모델의 개발 기술의 특성과 변화를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 가상피팅모델의 구축을 위해서는 인체의 치수, 형태, 얼굴의 특징들에 관한 정보 입력이 필요하며, 이때 요구되는 정보는 미국과 한국의 사이트에서 차이가 있음을 밝혔다. 미국의 사이트는 정면이나 측면의 실루엣에 대한 정보의 입력이 요구되는 반면 한국의 사이트는 더 많은 인체 치수 관련 정보를 요구하였다. 2000년에 개발되었던 한국의 가상피팅모델은 길고 좁은 프로포션으로 표현되어 사실적인 표현이 부족하였던 반면 2002년 미국에서 개발한 가상피팅모델은 다양한 인종의 특성을 반영하며, 그래픽 기술의 발전으로 사실적으로 표현된 가상피팅모델을 제공하는 것으로 나타났다.

대통령 취임기념우표는 국가의 비전과 시대적 염원을 담은 가장 작은 역사적 상징물이다. 우표는 그 자체만으로는 이미지 집합체에 불과하지만 인물과 상징물을 통해 그 시대 최고지도자상의 의미를 내포하고 있다. 본 논문은 우표에 내포된 정치지도자 이미지를 구조적으로 해석하기 위해 대통령 취임기념우표를 광고나 선전물의 맥락으로 분류하여 광고의 유용한 방법론으로 여겨지는 '기호학' 이론을 도입하여 분석하였다. 사회·문화적 변화에 따라 대통령 취임 우표의 변화가 가장 특색 있게 두드러진 시기로 2000년대를 시간적 범위로 하였으며 노무현, 이명박, 박근혜, 문재인 대통령 취임 기념우표만을 연구대상으로 하였다. 이미지를 해석하기 위해 기호학적 구조를 제시하여 정치지도자 이미지의 의미를 재구성하였으며 이미지의 분석에서 주관적일 수 있는 정태적 접근이 아닌 사회적·문화적 의미의 포괄적인 해석과 접근을 통해 진정성의 개념에 부응할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문은 우표에 나타난 한국의 2000년대의 정치지도자 이미지가 민주주의 제도의 진화 속에서 이제는 정당이나 정치적 이념, 출신 지역 등 기존의 전통적인 정치적 요인에 좌지우지 되지 않고 시대상황과 사회현상에 따라 인물중심의 독립적이고 특색 있는 지도자라는 이미지의 특성을 도출하였다.

본 논문은 모폴로지 연산을 이용하여 얼굴의 잡티를 제거하는 기법을 제안한다. 먼저, 입력받은 RGB 3채널 영상에서 각 채널의 픽셀 값을 이용하여 피부 영역을 검출한다. 피부 영역의 R, G, B 각 채널 영상에 대한 히스토그램을 만들어 각 채널 당 빈도수가 많은 픽셀 값 3개를 저장한다. 그 후, 피부 영역에 블랙햇 연산을 하여 잡티를 찾아낸다. 잡티로 검출된 픽셀은 자신의 픽셀 값과 8방향 이웃 픽셀 값, 앞에서 선택된 픽셀 3개의 평균으로 그 값을 변경한다. 그리고 잡티 부분의 픽셀에 중간값 필터를 이용하여 블러링을 한다. 잡티가 있는 얼굴 사진을 테스트 영상으로 실험한 결과 제안된 시스템은 얼굴의 잡티를 제거하여 얼굴 피부를 보정하는 방법은 단순히 영상을 밝게 하여 얼굴 피부를 보정하는 방법보다 효율적이다.
