This study was designed to investigate the variables affecting Chinese university students' selection factors for Korean drama. Participants in this study were 379 university students from Hunan Province, China. An online survey program(www.wjx.cn) was used to collect data for this study. The tool of this study was 'a tool for measuring the selection factors of Korean Dramas', and it was composed of two areas: completeness of work and recognition. The results of this study are as follows: First, the completeness of work factor are higher than the recognition of Korean dramas by Chinese university students. Second, there are differences in the factors for selection Korean dramas according to the gender, grade, age, major, and Korean Drama watching frequency of Chinese university students. Third, when Chinese university students select Korean Dramas, their preferred genre influences the selection factors for the level of work completion and recognition. Finally, it was discussed according to the results of this study, and suggested for the qualitative re-leap of Korean Dramas in the global era. In order to expand the Korean Wave market in China, cultural contents must be developed to embrace the sentiment of Chinese university students, a propagation strategy that reflects the latest consumption trends of Chinese youth must be established, and the sophisticated visual beauty of Korean Dramas must be realized.
In China, the phenomenon called 'Korean Wave' has boosted the interest in Korean pop culture, such as TV drama, music and films, and even in the general culture and society. As Korean singers, movie actors and talents become popular beyond acceptance of public culture, those who learn Korean, buy Korean products and visit Korea have emerged. Especially, most Chinese women have used Korean hair cosmetics and the interests in Korean hair cosmetics are increasing, since cosmetic companies entered China early due to Korean wave. Thus, the status of purchase of Korean hair cosmetics is growing day by day in China. In particular, since the environment is established to buy hair cosmetics easily in Myeong-dong which is one of the shopping tourism special districts, many Chinese tourists are crowded there. Based on such phenomenon, this study explored the differences in perceptions towards 'Korean Wave' among Chinese tourists who purchased Korean hair cosmetics in Myeong-dong, and analyzed the factors that largely determine the interest in Korean hair cosmetics and their purchase behavior. Therefore, this study is aimed at contributing to the development of hair cosmetics products and the market amid Korean Wave. As the research methods, 100 answered questionnaires were collected with target of Chinese tourists at 20s and 40s who purchased Korean hair cosmetics in Myeong-dong once 120 questionnaires were distributed. In-depth analysis was conducted and final research data were used. It was confirmed that Korean fever positively affected the Chinese tourists' purchase behavior and satisfaction of hair cosmetics, and the interests in Korean hair cosmetics at 20s were higher than at 40s. People at 20s had higher awareness, satisfaction and intention of repurchase of hair cosmetics compared rather than people at 40s. The research confirmed that Chinese tourists are very interested in Korean hair cosmetics as the pop music craze has led to the general Korean Wave, and differences in such perceptions have led to significant differences in the product purchase behavior.
The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the shapes, colors, patterns, and hairstyles of Qipao worn by heroines that were reconstructed over times, in a Chinese TV Drama set in the 1930s and televised in 1980 and remade in 2007. We investigated how the Qipao was reinterpreted. The results were as follows. First, in televised in 1980, Qipao borrowed the characteristics of Jing Pai Qipao, which became popular in Beijing. Jing Pai Qipao was characterized by a roomy and loose silhouette that does not expose a body line, Chinese traditional 5 colors, simple plain patterns and Chinese traditional flower patterns. For hairstyle, twist and permanent wave styles that were popular in the Republican Period were very common. On the other hand, in televised in 2007, Qipao was a Hai Pai style that was very popular in Shanghai in the 1930s. Hai Pai Qipao was characterized by a tight silhouette fitted to the body, various colors such as purple and beige other than the 5 colors, Western flower patterns and modern geometric patterns. Hairstyle was changed from bang hair to a permanent wave. Second, while had a modern reinterpretation of Jing Pai Qipao that was very popular in Beijing, rather than Hai Pai Qipao that became popular in Shanghai in the 1930s, used Hai Pai Qipao that was popular in Shanghai in the 1930s. In particular, demonstrated how the mass media should reinterpret past clothing by thoroughly studying and reflecting Shanghai Qipao in the 1930s and adding viewers' aesthetic taste of 2007 without damaging an original. Moreover, it confirmed that clothing can function as language and symbol within the mass media by connecting the color and pattern of Qipao with characters' traits and the plot. It suggests that was more advanced than filmed in the 1980s. The findings of this study might provide useful data to costume designers who reinterpret costumes from a new angle.

In this paper, we introduce a case study of cinematography using digital human in virtual production. This case study deals with the system overview of virtual production using LEDs and an efficient filming pipeline using digital human. Unlike virtual production using LEDs, which mainly project the background on LEDs, in this case, we use digital human as a virtual actor to film scenes communicating with a real actor. In addition, to film the dialogue scene between the real actor and the digital human using a real-time engine, we automatically generated speech animation of the digital human in advance by applying our Korean lip-sync technology based on audio and text. We verified this filming case by using a real-time engine to produce short drama content using real actor and digital human in an LED-based virtual production environment.
In proposing the concept of flow which focuses on experiencing the sites visited by Korean wave tourists as induced by drama or movies, this paper investigated role of involvement variables for Korean wave tourists in influencing flow construct of film sites. The involvement of Korean wave was found to operate as a mechanism by which challenge, skills, focused attention on site might be more organized or more actively experienced. This recognizes that there is clearly a need for making the FIT sites exposed much by any mix of various media. This study showed that challenges and skills influence enjoyment as output factor of flow film site visitors are assumed to participate the roles of film characters, experiencing the places and atmosphere. The degree of visitors' reflections in the film optimizes awareness of flow experiences on the site. Therefore, it is necessary to provide more detailed experiential program on the film sites with the wide variety of flow-related contents in the film.
Purpose - This research focused on women who enjoy watching Korean dramas and K-pop, as well as how their desire to imitate are influenced by their viewing habits. Due to the influence of their idols, women who aspire to copy and are influenced by their idols will desire to purchase Korean products. This cultural export strategy has effectively persuaded the global community, particularly women. Indonesia with a large population can be a reference for the industry to increase sales of South Korean beauty products, especially in the ASEAN region. Design/methodology - This research used a quantitative approach with an online questionnaire. This questionnaire had two steps: the pre-questionnaire and the questionnaire itself. The different measuring tools that were already in use when the data were being collected helped to determine how much each variable meant. As a part of this research project, 410 Indonesian women filled out the questionnaire in order to share their thoughts as they were the focus of the study. SMART PLS was used to analyze the data. Findings - One of the most essential findings from establishing the Korean Wave effect on purchase intention was the imitation intention variable. Someone who has the aspiration to be just like their idol will be willing to give anything in order to achieve that goal. One strategy is to buy things that are similar to the ones you want to imitate in order to stimulate demand for Korean products. People's imitation intention and attitude toward Korean products will increase as a result of Korean drama and K-pop elements that display one's idols with fashionable appearances and good-looking faces, which will lead to purchase intentions. Originality/value - The Korean Wave has had a beneficial impact on the intention to imitate and the attitude toward Korean items, both of which will favorably boost the intention to acquire Korean goods. In order to boost sales in international markets, particularly in Indonesia, the Korean business sector needs to increase the number of artists and singers it employs for product promotion. . Mutualism effect between the government, the entertainment industry, and the beauty product industry to increase sales of South Korean beauty products.

Currently, the Korean wave is not limited to popular culture, but has a significant impact not only on Korea's national image but also on the improvement of Korean companies' products and image of Korea. In this study, using Textom to confirm the change in foreign tourists' image of Korea, the data collection period was 1 year of 2020, when COVID 19 occurred, as a collection period for "Korea and foreigner" and related key words, each Hallyu content, and ranked in the top 80 keywords were derived. Centrality analysis for semantic network visualization was performed using UCINET6, and through CONCOR analysis, 7 groups 'K-Quarantine ', 'K-Drama', 'K-Movie', 'K-Beauty', 'K-Shopping', It was clustered into 'K-Tech' and 'K-Pop'. As a result of the analysis, the image of Korea abroad generally recognized the Korean Wave as cultural content, but after the outbreak of COVID 19, it is judged that it has been recognized as a country with a successful case of K-Quarantine.
The predominant concern of the study consist of: (1) whether Chinese young people think Korean Wave would lasts; (2) the direct effect of viewing degree of Korean contents on the sustainability of Korean Wave; (3) the mediation effect of liking for Korean Wave and receptiveness to foreign cultural inflow on that sustainability; (4) the moderating effect of sense of rivalry between Korean and China. The research is based on a survey conducted with 371 chinese people between high teen and early 30's, located in Guilin of Guangxi and Zhengzhou of Henan in China. The notable findings are as follow: While the group with strong rivalry does not have a direct effect of viewing degree on the sustainability for Korean Wave, the group with weak rivalrous sense and higher viewing degree of Korean contents predict shorter sustainability of Korean Wave, therefore, the moderating effect of sense of rivalry between Korea and China is significant .Next, liking for Korean Wave shows a full mediating effect among Chinese with weak rivalry and a partial mediating effect among them with strong rivalry. The mediating effect of receptiveness to foreign cultural inflow is non-significant.
This study examined how German newspapers and magazines report Korean mass culture, specifically what content on Hallyu (Korean wave) was present and what news frames were used. External characteristics, the content attributes, report trend, and news frames on Hallyu in the German media were analyzed. According to the results, German media from 2009 to 2014 reported the least about Korean wave with only a total of 78 articles. The greatest amount of articles occurred in 2012 when by PSY was a global success. The most common Korean wave articles focused on film and K-pop, but not drama. Hallyu news showed mostly a positive trend. Additionally, a thematic frame was used. Content revealed that a culturally interesting frame was most common. In order to improve the Korea image in Germany, it is proposed that 'the mediated Culture PR' be adapted to German media.

The purpose of this study is to provide the characteristics and development direction of K-fashion and to systematize the strategic features performed by government agencies, fashion associations, fashion companies, and other companies to activate K-fashion. This research analyzed K-fashion related articles published in major newspapers and magazines in Korea from the late 1990s to early 2017. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The characteristics of K-fashion are as follows: The first is a trendy and sophisticated design with modern sensibilities, unique designs that reinterpret the latest trends with designer creativity, practical and popular designs that ordinary people can wear comfortably in everyday life. The second is functional and trendy materials. The third is excellent sewing technology. The fourth is rapid turnover of products by quick connections among planning, production and sales. The fifth is a lower price than quality. 2. The direction for K-fashion to pursue was the continuous and ongoing development of the above characteristics and the creation of a 'design with the Korean emotion of its 5,000 year history'. 3. The following projects were carried out to promote K-fashion. 1) Utilization of K-pop, K-drama and other Korean wave content. (1) Holding a fashion concert event that combines Idol's K-Pop performances with fashion shows. (2) Hallyu (Korean wave) star's costume support and design collaboration with Hallyu stars.
