실시간 원격 협력 설계 시스템 -CoDes (CoDes: A Real-Time Collaborative Design System)

  • This paper presents a solid modeling system that enables real time co-operative modeling and discussion on m between geographically separated designers. The modeling system is implemented using CORBA architecture and integrated in WWW with Java technology. The server objects use a commercial solid modeling kernel to provide modeling features and access database including product model data. The client is implemented using Java2 platform so that enables end-users access the system with web-browsers.

전원지역의 녹지구조 현황과 기능개선 방안 - 강원도 양구를 대상으로 - (Structural Conditions of Greenspace in a Rural Region and Strategies for its Functional Improvement - In the Case of Yanggu, Gangwon Province -)

  • 본 연구는 전원지 역 인 양구군을 대상으로 녹지 면적 및 식생구조 중심의 녹지구조를 정량 분석하고, 녹지에 대한 주민태도의 설문조사를 병행하여 녹지기능을 증진할 개선방안을 제시하였다. 수목피도는 공원이 약 29%로서 녹지공간 유형 중 가장높았고, 상업지 정원이 가장 낮아 3%에 불과하였다. 양구 전원지역의 수목식재는 개발밀도가 높은 도시의 경우보다 더 빈약하였다. 교목의 흉고직경분포는 20cm 미만의 점유비가 전체의 91%로서 도시지 역과 유사하게 유목 및 성장과정의 수목들이 우점하였다. 식재수종들의 상대우점치를 분석한 결과, 상위권 10개 수종 중4개 수종은 도시에서도 상위 10위권 내인 주요 도시경관수종들이었으며, 일부 우점종만 도시지 역과 상이하였다. 한편, 주거지 및 상업지 정원에선 우점종 대부분이 유실수로서 주로 실용적 수종을 식재한 것으로 나타났다. 녹지면적의 점유비는 공원 약 69%, 주거지 정원 39%, 공공용지 정원 37%, 가로 24%, 상업지 정원 15%등이었다. 향후 수목을 식재할 수 있는 잠재식재공간은 가로가 37%로서 현 수목피도를 약 6배, 주거지와 상업지 정원이 각각 19%,7%로서 현 수목피도를 2배이상 증진할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다 녹지구조와 식재기법, 설문조사분석결과에 근거한 녹지확충 및 기능 개선책은 가로 구간별 테마 창출, 다층구조 조성, 정원 나지에 수목식재 및 건물 주변 에너지 절약적 식재 추진 등으로 요약된다.

A Design of Architecture for Federating between NRNs and Determination Optimal Path

  • The current networks do not disclose information about a management domain due to scalability, manageability and commercial reasons. Therefore, it is very hard to calculate an optimal path to the destination. Also, due to poor information sharing, if an error occurs in the intermediate path, it is very difficult to re-search the path and find the best path. Hence, to manage each domain more efficiently, an architecture with top-level path computation node which can obtain information of separate nodes are highly needed This study aims to investigate a federation of a united network around NRN(National Research Network) that could allow resource sharing between countries and also independent resource management for each country. Considering first the aspects that can be accessed from the perspective of a national research network, ICE(Information Control Element) and GFO(Global Federation Organizer)-based architecture is designed as a top-level path computation element to support traffic engineering and applied to the multi-domain network. Then, the federation for the independent management of resources and resource information sharing among national research networks have been examined.

해상 이동형 해수담수화 플랜트 선박의 저항 및 내항 성능 평가에 따른 장기 하중 추정 (Long-term Loads based on Evaluation of Resistance and Seakeeping Performances for a Desalination Plant Ship)

  • Desalination plant ships have been recently regarded as one of the probable solutions for drought seasons in many countries. Because desalination plants should be mounted on the desalination ships and special purpose storages such as salty waste water tanks are necessary, onboard and compartment arrangements would be distinguished from those of other conventional commercial ships. This paper introduces some basic design procedure including resistance/propulsion and seakeeping performances. The ship lines were improved step by step after modification of the ship lines and verification of resistance/propulsion performances using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). After finalization of the ship lines, the seakeeping performance was also evaluated to check motion behaviors and drive wave-induced loads such as the wave shear force and bending moment. It was proved that the predicted long-term vertical wave shear force and bending moment were significantly less than the rule-based ones, thus it is expected that the deliverables of this study will reduce the construction cost of desalination plant ships.

  • Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations solver based on a pressure-based cell-centered finite volume method was developed using OpenFOAM libraries, which was an open source and providing computational continuum mechanics libraries. For the reasonable development of the turbulent boundary layer on the bow of the ship, specified library was developed. Grid sensitivities, such as skewness and aspect ratio of a cell, were tested for the solution convergence. Pressure, turbulent kinetic energy, turbulent dissipation rate contours on the ship surface computed by the developed CFD code were compared with those computed by the commercial CFD code, Fluent.

도시 지표면 온도분포 특성 및 열섬완화방안 (A Study on the Distribution Characteristic of Urban Surface Temperature and Urban Heat Island Effects)

  • The purpose of this research was to three-criteria landuse-pattern, developing density, NDVI which were related to the heat island and find the distribution characteristic of urban surface temperature and urban heat island effects. The results of this study were as follows. According to the analysis of surface temperatures, the first grade was the outside-city like a mountain and its temperature was less than $12.18^{\circ}C$. The fifth grade was the downtown industrial area and its temperature was more than $23.54^{\circ}C$. It means Daegu-Metropolitan-City has the serious heat-island effect. the results of landuse pattern analysis, in case of fifth and forth grade, city area was occupied over 90% with residential, commercial and industrial areas, but in case of third grade, openspace was occupied over 70%. The results of developing density analysis, the temperature had high correlation with building ratio, road ratio, vegetation ratio and etc. To plan for the decrease of heat island effect needed the extension of green space, decrease of paving, but there was a limit to get the objective method for grade classification because of lacking in the basic data, the research of criteria will be accomplished continuously.

건물유형 및 지역조건에 따른 ECO2 및 TRNSYS의 냉난방부하 비교분석 (Comparison Analysis of Cooling and Heating Demand by Building Type and Region using ECO2 and TRNSYS)

  • In Korea, it is also mandatory for most buildings to receive energy efficiency rating certification from 2020 for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and expanding green buildings. However, the issue of the accuracy of the ECO2 program continues to be raised, and comparisons have been made with dynamic energy analysis programs in a single type of building according to a single area. However, comparisons between multiple building types and multiple areas are insufficient. Therefore, in this study, cooling and heating loads according to multiple building types and multiple areas were analyzed through ECO2 and TRNSYS programs. The regions were supposed to be Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Busan and the building types were supposed to be office buildings and apartment houses. The annual average building load values from ECO2 were higher than those from TRNSYS. Among residential buildings across the four regions, the largest discrepancy was 41.4% in Seoul. Conversely, for commercial buildings, the most significant difference in annual average loads was noted in Gwangju, at 37.9%.

解防後 韓國의 都市景觀 變遷 및 그 要因 硏究 - 서울을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Changes and Influencing Factors fo Townscape in Korea since 1945)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how the urban landscape of Korea, especially Seoul, changed during the last half century since 1945. The modernization of Korea, which had begun in 1960's after the chaotic period caused by Korean War, influenced the rapid growth of cities and the radical changes of its structures. But the Western-minded planning theories based on rationalism and positivism was directly applied in developing our traditional cities and consequently the modern urban landscape including urban pattern, architectural style, and commercial and residential landscape revealed disharmony, discrepancy and inconsistency in skylines, streetscape and so on. The findings are summarized as follows. 1. Because the urban structure and pattern changed in undesirable manner in terms of land use and traffic circulation, cities as a whole resulted in exclusive and heterogeneous landscape, and citizens lost their identity and felt alienated. 2. Because the architectural forms of important and monumental buildings which influenced the character of streetscape were not so successful in inventing contemporary Korean Style in true sense, we still have difficulty in creating the urban landscape of originality and legibility. 3. Because from the beginning of this era almost all highrise buildings were designed by modernism-oriented western architects, the commercial landscape of central cities did not evoke a sense of place, and after the introduction of postmodernism this tendency is ore striking even in everyday ordinary streetscape. 4. The newly formed residential landscape which was mainly composed of highly dense and highrise apartment, not only evolved very overwhelming and ugly visual impact but also exposed many social problems in living condition, neighboring and face-to-face contact. In conclusion, in ordr to define the 'Koreanness' of our urban landscape, we have to struggle to combine traditional architectural heritage and native townscape with Western shape, thought and theory, no matter how difficult it may be.

아로요 파크웨이 조경설계 (Streetscape Design of Arroyo Parkway, Pasadena, California)

  • The Pasadena Freeway follows the Arroyo Seco through foothills and scenic passes to link Downtown Los Angeles with Pasadena. The approximately 10 mile road was the first freeway built in the West during the 1930's and is today designated as a Historic Parkway. As it approaches Pasadena, it terminates at a traffic light intersection at Glenarm Street, and then becomes a commercial road the Arroyo Parkway. This one and a quarter mile long, north south road moves significant volumes of traffic both into and out of Pasadena. The Arroyo Parkway is thus a major 'gateway' and an important axis of orientation and movement, terminating in the City's core civic, commercial and retail district. Planting, lighting, signage, paving, furnishing and fixtures ought to all be properly designed and coordinated to create a distinctive 'gateway' experience arriving to Pasadena and driving along the Arroyo Parkway. Alternate design studies, developed in discussion with City officials and others involved in the redevelopment of the area, would need to be done to properly decide on the best direction. Issues of heritage and traditional streetscape will likely have to be reconciled with both the reality of the vehicular character of the road and more contemporary themes. Obviously with such large parcels of property available in the Arroyo Fair Oaks corridor, there is a huge potential for redevelopment and building. This potential would only be strengthened by the Light Rail Line and its stations, the improvements to the Arroyo Parkway, and the redevelopment of the Arts Center College of Design. Guides and controls to the development process, including programming and physical design studies, would need to be developed in order to ensure that the maximum potential for the corridor be realized. This concept proposal suggests that the whole strip might be developed as a Arts and Technology corridor, with special emphases on education, public culture, media and lifestyle. The full programming possibilities need to be further developed. Additionally, appropriate urban design guidelines to ensure high quality development also need to be incorporated into an overall development plan.

초고층 공간계획의 디자인 요소와 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design Elements and Tectonics for High-Rise Building Space Planning)

  • The high-rise building is a dramatic phenomenon and a powerful expression of architecture in the modern civilization. The architecture of these high-rise buildings has been developed with mutual contributions of architectural aesthetic form and advanced technologies. Architecturally the significant evolution of tall buildings from ancient towers is a "change of function" from some religious symbols to a commercial concept that has aesthetically become acceptable with the changing of modern society and culture driven by a technological evolution. Generally, this commercial function in the evolution of high-rise building is office where high-rise working style is simply a necessity to meet quantitative market demands since this style in major cities around world has been changed from low-rise to high-rise during the last several decades in influenced of the modern industrial society. To achieve optimum spaces with architectural aesthetics in the high-rise building, the design has become collaborative, requiring the input of architects, engineers, economists, and other consultants. Hence, architects must deeply understand the basic planning theories of high-rise buildings and try to find optimum planning between architectural aesthetics and other issues. For the approach, we can firstly start with measurement and analysis of the planning use situation for major planning issues of high-rise buildings in practice. Therefore, this study is to analysis Design Elements and to find commonly used planning strategies, tectonic, of high-rise building in practice. It will give a chance to confirm commonly used planning and then becomes the starting point of the planning development of high-rise buildings based on practical planning issues.
