This thesis aims to investigate the mediatorial effect of peer attachments and self-esteem between the child abuse by their parents and the adolescents' life-satisfaction. In order to achieve this goal, the author analyzed the data gathered over 6 year period, which subjected 1823 third-year middle school students, a sample selected by the stratified-multilevel-sampling from the "Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey". The author collected the source material by means of SPSS WIN. 21.0 Program, frequency analysis, technological statistic analysis, relative analysis, path analysis (for satisfaction), and sobel test, etc. The results of analysis are as follows: Firstly, the child abuse by their parents has had a significant negative maladjustment on the participants' life satisfaction level. Secondly, the peer attachments had an influence on partial mediatorial effect between the child abuse by their parents and adolescents' content(satisfied) lives. Lastly, the self-esteem had an influence on the complete mediatorial effect between the child abuse by their parents and the adolescents' happy lives. The author gave an improved counterplan for peer attachments and self-esteem. The author suggests following researchers to include the impact of versatile environmental factors on adolescents' life satisfaction level which was excluded in the present research.

This study attempts to verify the relational structure of adolescent's emotional problems, smart phone dependency and school life adjustment from a perspective of Glasser (1998)'s choice theory. For this purpose, this study utilized the second year data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey Data. From the results of the analysis, the most influential variable affecting adolescent's school life adjustment was found to be the sense of community, and adolescent's emotional problems were found to have a effect upon school life adjustment and smart phone dependency based on the choice theory. This study discussed issues of cultivating the sense of community to improve adolescent's school life adjustment, and developing counseling program and reinforcing the counseling personnel with improvement of contingent employment to alleviate smart phone dependency and emotional problems.

This study tries to examine the effect of positive and negative parents' attitudes on adolescents' smartphone dependency, and prove the meditating effect of poor attachment between the two variables in the times of convergence. For the study, the data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey were analyzed by utilizing the path analysis, the data from 1,971. The results are as follows: First, positive and negative parents' attitudes influenced adolescents' poor attachment. Second, positive and negative parents' attitudes had a effect on adolescents' smartphone dependency. Third, parents' attttudes directly influenced adolescents' smart phone dependency and its' effect was indirectly mediated by the subjects's poor attachment.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between self-identity, Career choice factors and employment preparation activities of college students. The research subjects were the group of 2091 college students who participated in Korean Children Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) as 7th graders. Their 7th year data in 2016 were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis. Self identity was found significant and positive correlations between career choice factors and not employment preparation activities. and It was found that their self-identity of college students exerts a statistically significant effect on their career choice factors but not on their employment preparation activities. The research result is expected to help arrange detailed educational programs and/or self-identifying programs to help college students choose a career choice and prepare for employment-seeking activities.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the long term mediating effects of Self-regulated Learning(SRL) in the Relationships among the Perceptions of Middle School Students on the Democratic Attitude of Parenting(DAP) and their Relationships with Teachers(RT), and their Self-esteem(SE). The data sources were from the first (2010) and the third (2012) Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS). As a result, first, the perceived DAP had significant effects on the students' SE both directly and indirectly through SRL. Second, the perception on RT had indirect effects on their SE mediated by SRL. Third, this pattern in first year continued in two-year-later-SE. This study implies that DAP, RT, and SRL play important roles in the continuous development of adolescents' self-esteem.

This study was conducted to investigate the structural relationship between depression, self-esteem, and social withdrawal that affect academic helplessness in adolescents. The study sample was 2,265 first-year students of high school in the fourth year (2021) data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018. In this study, data were analyzed by a structural equation model based on the partial least squares method using SmartPLS 3.0. Results indicated that depression and social withdrawal had a significant positive effect on adolescents' academic helplessness, and self-esteem had a significant negative effect. In addition, social withdrawal had a significant positive mediating effect on the relationship between depression and academic helplessness. Therefore, it is required strategies that consider the relationship between depression, self-esteem, and social withdrawal to approach adolescents' academic helplessness.

The current generation of adolescents stands out as the most digitally interconnected in the annals of history, navigating an era characterized by unprecedented levels of technological connectivity. This study explored the impact of smartphone addiction on the quality of peer relationships among adolescents, with a focus on the mediating role of depression. Analyzing data from 2,288 responses of 14-year-old adolescents extracted from the 2022 cross-sectional data of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018, research questions were tested. The findings showed that smartphone addiction among adolescents exacerbates depression, consequently leading to a deterioration in the quality of peer relationships. The results contribute to expanding scholarly understanding of the intersection between digital technology and the mental and social well-being of adolescents. Furthermore, there is a call to action for parents, teachers, counselors, policy maker, and practitioner in education institutions to establish programs that monitor and intervene in cases of excessive smartphone use among adolescents.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of peer attachment, self-esteem, and school life adjustment on the sense of community in the first grade of middle school adolescents. This study utilized the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) data(7th, 2016) to get more comprehensive and objective research result. A total of 2,000 subjects were included in the study. For statistics on the collected data, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearsons' correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed using IBM SPSS statistics version 23.0. As a result of the study, the statistically significant variables affecting the sense of community in the first grade of middle school, were peer attachment and school life adjustment. The variable identified as having the greatest influence was school life adjustment. In order to inspire a sense of community, priority should be given to promoting school life adjustment.

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of abuse, neglect, and excessive interference of parents on adolescent aggression in the longitudinal context and examine the moderating effect of playing computer game theoretically guided by the flow theory. 2,351 adolescents from the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey was analyzed using Linear Mixed Effects Regression procedures. Primary findings are as follows: (1) adolescents with higher level of abuse or excessive interference showed higher level of aggression. (2) the aggression level of adolescents with higher level of abuse or excessive interference consistently decreased over time. (3) the link between abuse and aggression was significantly moderated by playing computer game. In conclusion, the negative effect of the abuse on adolescent aggression could be significantly decreased by playing computer game.

This study tries to examine the effect of parents' neglect on adolescents' sexual-materials addiction, and prove the mediating effect of self-identity between the two variables in the times of convergence. For the study, the data(n=2,157) from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey were analyzed by utilizing the path analysis. The results are as follows: First, parents' neglect influenced negatively adolescents' self-identity. Second, parents' neglect had a positive effect on adolescents' sexual-materials addiction. Third, parents' neglect directly influenced adolescents' sexual-materials addiction and its' effect was indirectly mediated by the subject's self-identity.
