In this paper, we introduce the three-dimensional Korean character display by using 2D fonts and character depth. Character segments are designed by the set of vertex at run time. Character depth is applied for 3D visualization. And, the variation of eye-point and distance of object is used for 3D character animation.

This study to embody automatic recognition of VIN(Vehicle Identification Number)character by computer vision system. Automatic recognition characters methods consist of the thining processing and the recognition of each character. VIN character and background classified using counting method of the size of connected pixels. Thining processing applied to segmentation of connected fundamental phonemes by Hilditch's algorithm. Each VIN character contours tracing algorithm used the Freeman's direction tracing algorithm.

Novels include various character names, depending on the genre and the spatio-temporal background of the novels and the nationality of characters. Besides, characters and their names in a novel are created by the author's pen and imagination. As a result, any proper noun dictionary cannot include all kinds of character names. In addition, the novels translated into Korean have character names consisting of two or more nouns (such as "Harry Potter"). In this paper, we propose a method to extract noun phrases for character names and to cluster the noun phrases into coreferents for the same character name. In the extraction of noun phrases, we utilize KKMA morpheme analyzer and CPFoAN character identification tool. In clustering the noun phrases into coreferents, we construct a directed graph with the character names extracted by CPFoAN and the extracted noun phrases, and then we create name sets for characters by traversing connected subgraphs in the directed graph. With four novels translated into Korean, we conduct a survey to evaluate the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method will be useful for speaker identification as well as for constructing the social network of characters.

In this paper, we descried a bottom-up document structure analysis method in bilingual Korean-English document. We proposed a character segmentation method based on the layout information of connected component of each character. In many researches, a document has been analyzed into text blocks and graphics. We analyzed a document into four parts: text, table, graphic, and separator. A text is recursively subdivided into text blocks, text lines, words, and characters. To extract the character in bilingual text, we proposed a new method of word of word separation of Korean or English. Futhermore, we used a character merging and segmentation method in accordance with the properties of Hangul on the Korean word blocks. Experimental results on the various documents show that the proposed method is very effectively operated on the document structure analysis and the character segmentation.

In modern society, the economic and cultural influence of characters is increasing day by day. However, there is no comprehensive records management system for characters in Korea. The purpose of this study is to identify the necessity of comprehensive character records management system and requirements for records producers and users, and suggest a construction plan for archives that reflects this idea. Related cases in domestic and overseas were identified and analyzed, survey was conducted of character designers and users participating in the '2017 Character Licensing Fair' in order to understand their needs on character archives, and it was followed by interviews of two character designers. From the implications of the related cases and the analysis results of the questionnaire survey and the interviews, plans for records collection, management, and services were suggested for constructing character archives. Specifically, preparation of collection policy, insertion of watermark to prevent pirating, online sales of characters, and one-stop service that can provide licensing for copyright protection and record utilization were suggested.

Movie clothing is what is recreated as a character in work after being worn for actors (or actresses). Especially the clothing in color movie gets to have very psychological effect. Thus Accord-ing to the clothing the effect of the represen-tation style may become large and small. So as to make the gesture or attitude of each character valuable in accordance with the ac-tion and expression of the figure clothing is different from other device essentially One may attain various goals through the color of movie clothing, First movie clothing may show the vogue color of the time and the representative time color, Second the color of movie clothing helps one to able to recognize the socio-econmic position of character easily as the color to symbolize the specific jobs such as nurse soldier and doctor etc. Third the color of movie clothing may show the charcter temperament as to whether one is young or old and whether one has pessi-mistic temperament or one is extrovert or introversive etc. easily. Fourth setting the clothing color of hero as the color to set off helps it easy to distinguish from representation staffs. Fifty the whole color establishment of movie clothing gives help to expressing the at-mosphere of movie. Color is one of the most powerful means that the person in charge of clothing may express the character of movie. He should ex-press the feature of a wearer with the colors of each clothing through showing the lack of taste of characters or hinting the resistant character with the clothing color which is not suitable for situation or the conservative character with suppressed color etc. Thus he (or she) should express the clothing color which is suitable for being able to express each character by analyzing the work whole through script and grasping the character of each character so as to establish the clothing which is suitable for individual character.

This paper deals with several methods: the clustering method that uses k-means algorithm to abstract the area of characters on the image document and the distance function that suits for the HIS coordinate system to cluster the image. For the prepossessing step to recognize this, or the method of characters segmentate, the algorithm to abstract a discrete character is also proposed, using the linking picture element. This algorithm provides the feature that separates any character such as the touching or overlapped character. The methods of projecting and tracking the edge have so far been used to segment them. However, with the new method proposed here, the picture element extracts a discrete character with only one-time projection after abstracting the character string. it is possible to pull out it. dividing the area into the character and the rest (non-character). This has great significance in terms of processing color documents, not the simple binary image, and already received verification that it is more advanced than the previous document processing system.

This study is to understand the needs of local character design for SNS marketing and find development plan. We analyzed successful cases in Korea and Japan to find out development plan of competitive local character for SNS marketing. Method of study was literature research, case study and in-depth interview, based on component of character. These are the results. First, development of local character has to consider the use in SNS marketing. Second, local character has to be more concerned with intimacy than Symbolic. Third, it should have attractive visual, reflecting the taste of people. Fourth, it should have creative design to arouse people's curiosity. Finally, name and design of the character should be intuitive. Therefore, we expect improvement of Korean local characters, which reflect SNS marketing and current trends.

The purpose of this study is to research on concept, consisting factors, and specialties of theme park' character costumes to understand better about character costumes as well as to establish fundamental research data. The characteristics of character costumes in the theme park are as follows. First, theme park' character costumes are personified so that visitors may feel friendly and have emotional communication with them. Specially, costume that anthropomorphize an animal(85.3%) and silhouette of lozenge style(86.8%) dominated the highest weight. Animal figures are walking upright and wearing human's clothes. They communicate with visitors using mime actions. Second, various types of body proportion is applied to highlight the characteristics of character costume. Most character costumes are applied with unrealistic body proportion. This unrealistic body proportion give abnormal image and looks funny. The important factor is size of their head. Especially, 3.5 body proportion(78.9%) is general. Third, simplification, exaggeration, shrinkage, and modification are other factors. Simplification is applied differently by parts. Pocket, collar details are simplified to clarify the character's image. More simplification can lead to ommission. For their head, peculiar parts look stand out but other parts are simplified to stress their characteristics. Exaggeration is used with shrinkage to give strong impression to visitors. Forms are broken intentionally and they are modified. They look impressive because they are not harmonized. It is unexpected image and induces humor and familiar feelings. Matter of stylization includes exaggeration, shrinkage, modification and movement of actors that have tangible factor of character costume.

This study examined human rights perception, cultural diversity perception, level of character perception, and influencing factors for university students in order to prepare basic data on integrated education methods of character, human rights and cultural diversity and education program models. The research questions are as follows. 1. What are university students' perceptions of character, cultural diversity and human rights? 2. What is the status of the experience of family life education on character, cultural diversity, and human rights, and is it related to the level of perception? 3. What variables affect character perception, cultural diversity perception, and human rights perception? The survey targeted 407 students at two universities in Seoul and used IBM PASW Statistics as a tool to analyze data. The study results are as follows. First, university students' character, cultural diversity and human rights perception were above average; however, empirical education is still required because they had low scores in the area of action. Second, male university students have less experience in family life education on character, cultural diversity and human rights compared to female university students. Third, it is necessary to integrate education for character, cultural diversity and human rights because the most influential factors in character perception, cultural diversity perception and human rights perception were character education. The role of family life education should be considered important because personality education in the home showed a relatively high correlation.
