The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of mobile phone dependency in the relationship between parenting attitude and juvenile delinquency. This study used the secondary data from the $1^{st}$, $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ waves of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(2010, KCYPS). The data of 2,086 middle school students were analyzed by utilizing Structural Equation Model(SEM). The results are as follows. First, positive and negative parenting attitudes had no direct effects on juvenile delinquency, while positive parenting attitudes had significantly decreased adolescents' mobile phone dependency. In addition, negative parenting attitudes had positive effects on adolescents' mobile phone delinquency. Second, mobile phone dependency was fully mediated by parenting attitudes and juvenile delinquency. On the basis of these results of study, policy and practice implications were discussed to reduce juvenile delinquency by improving parenting attitudes.

This study examined the mediating effect of depression on the relationship between over-control parenting styles and mobile phone dependency among children. The 5th-year longitudinal data from the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) were collected from 4th grade elementary school students. The data were analyzed by the structural equation modeling and bootstrapping. The results of this study were as follows. First, there is a positive path from over-control parenting styles to depression, from depression to mobile phone dependency, and from over-control parenting styles to mobile phone dependency. Second, depression had a mediating effect on the association between over-control parenting styles and mobile phone dependency. Based on these results, more study of elementary school students' reliance on cell phones is needed.

This study was conducted to develop a unified structural model that defines relationships among factors that affect Multi Cultural Acceptance (MCA) for adolescents. This study was performed using the dataset from the 2016 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCPS). We analyzed the survey result from the dataset at the 0.05 significance level using the SPSS and AMOS version 22 programs. Specifically, we investigated several demographic characteristics of the survey participants by a descriptive analysis method that adopted the maximum likelihood estimate method to verify the fitness of the hypothetical model and the hypotheses therein. In addition, we applied the ${\chi}^2$-test, GFI, AGFI, CFI, IFI, and RMSEA to show the fitness level of our structural model. The results showed that our proposed structural model demonstrated a fine fitness level. We found that key factors that affect MCA for adolescents were ego-resilience, peer relationships, and sense of community. Overall, the results of our study indicate that combinational intervention is needed to help adolescents lift their ego-resilience, as well as to develop peer relationships and a sense of community.
The purpose of this study was to review the relationships among parental care and parental overprotection perceived by adolescence, their ego-resilience and self-regulated learning ability. For this purpose, a total 2,002 students were selected from the seventh data sets of the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS). More specifically, samples were composed of 1st graders in middle schools(n=2,002). As a result, first, the perceived parental care had significant effects on the self-regulated learning ability both directly and indirectly through ego-resilience. Second, the perceived parental overprotection had effects on their self-regulated learning ability mediated by ego-resilience. But the effect of parental overprotection was less than the effect of parental care. This study implies that parental care attitude and ego-resilience play important roles in the continuous development of adolescents' self-regulated learning ability.

This study was to investigate factors influencing the school adjustment according to gender and body mass index (BMI) of middle school students who participated in the 2nd-wave Korea Children and Youth Panel Study (KCYPS). This study used a crosssectional design with secondary analysis with KCYPS. The variables were parental interest, behavioral problem, aggression, attention problem, somatic symptom, social withdrawal, depression, and academic achievement. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions. School adjustment was significantly associated with academic achievement high, explaining 11.3~19.1% of the variance in boys. School adjustment was significantly associated with attention problem, explaining 14.9~42.4% of the variance in girls. Factors influencing school adjustment were significantly different according to gender and BMI. To improve the school adjustment, it is necessary to develop gender-specific school adjustment promotion programs according to BMI.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of peer attachment and parental abuse on adolescents' dependence on mobile phones and the mediating effect of self-esteem. For this study, I used the panel data of the 7th year of the 1st grade of the elementary school for the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey provided by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. A total of 1,937 adolescents were selected to analyze causal relationship among variables, and SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 were used to verify research problem. As a result of the study, First, the better the relationship with peers, the higher the self-esteem and the less the dependence on their mobile phone. On the other hand, the more severe the abuse, the lower the self-esteem and the higher the dependence on mobile phones. Second, Self-esteem was found to have a significant effect on peer attachment and abuse on mobile phone dependence. Based on these results, I would like to provide them as basic data for helping positive development of adolescents.

Usually unit-nonresponse or item-nonresponse occurs in the survey. In case the rate of nonresponse is high, the analysis ignoring nonresponse may cause the wrong effect. The characterization of nonresponse is required. In a cross-sectional data, it is possible to study the characteristics of item-nonresponse but it is hard to study the characteristics of the unit-nonresponse. In order to identify the characteristics of the unit-nonresponse, this study used the first-year student of middle schools in the Korea children and youth panel survey (KCYPS) data. We investigated the handling situation of nonresponse and analyzed the characteristics of the unit-nonresponse. Most of the papers applied the way of getting rid of nonresponse, so that there was little paper using weights. In this paper, we compared the results of the analyses depending on whether the weight is used or not. The method of using weights showed statistically significant results much more than that of removing. More discussion will be needed.

In Korea, youth participation in economic activities and unemployment appear at the same time, which is a more serious problem, so a study on the labor market movement can be viewed as a study to overcome youth unemployment. The purpose of this study is to examine how labor movement between the employed and the unemployed is progressing through the survey data of the youth panel among the employment panel and to identify the factors affecting the movement path and movement of the employed and the unemployed. In the case of the employed, they possessed professional qualifications, and in the case of unstable occupational status, they attempted to move to a stable position after being employed. In the case of the unemployed, the probability of failing to find a job was higher as they had no job search experience, the longer the job search period, and the less effort they made. The fact that the home environment directly or indirectly influences the movement of the labor market remains unchanged. On the other hand, the higher the educational level, the more stable, and the most stable the metropolitan area. Therefore, more urgently than ever, a plan to revitalize the local labor market through the organic relationship between the government, local governments, local industry, and local universities and balanced regional development should be sought.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors for self-rated health by gender in South Korean adolescents. Methods: The population consisted of a nationally representative sample of adolescents(n= 37,414 boys, 37,522 girls) in middle and high school who completed the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey(KYRBWS) in 2011. Using logistic regression analysis, self-rated health was regressed on all predictors, including socioeconomic factors, behavioral and psychological factors. All analysis were conducted according to gender. Results: Girls showed more negative self rated health than boys (respectively 28.4%, 40.7%). Adolescent perceptions of health was associated with socioeconomic status, behavioral and psychological factors. Logistic regression analysis revealed that physical activity, body weight perception, despair, level of happiness and stress were the main influencing factors. Conclusions: The findings show that adolescent perceptions of their health are associated with overall sense of functioning, which are associated with health behaviors and psychological factors. Further interventions that focus on improving health behaviors and psychological health may make adolescents more healthy.

Drawing from the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), this study examined the changes in romantic relationship engagement among Korean adolescents across the country over a three-year period and the effects of the individual, familial, and school characteristics on the experience. Panel logit analysis showed that Korean adolescents were more likely to be engaged in a romantic relationship as they became older. Male adolescents were more likely than their female counterparts to have a romantic partner. The higher scores of self-esteem increased the likelihood of adolescents to be in a romantic relationship. On the other hand, having an opposite-sex sibling, the level of parental warmth, and annual household income did not have a significant relationship with the chance of romantic relationship engagement. On the contrary, all school-related variables were statistically related to the odds of being in a romantic relationship. Going to a sex-mixed school increased the odds, whereas academic adjustment and conformity to school rules decreased the likelihood. In addition, the positive relationships with schoolmates and teachers were associated with a higher chance of having a romantic partner. Based on these findings, the implications, limitations, and future research directions were also suggested.
