  • Learning C programming language in electronics education is an important basic education course for understanding computer programming and acquiring the ability to use microprocessors in embedded systems. In order to focus on understanding basic grammar and algorithms, it is a common teaching method to write programs based on C standard library functions in the console window and learn theory and practice in parallel. However, if a student wants to start a project activity or go to a deeper stage after acquiring some basic knowledge of the C language, using only the C standard library function in the console window limits what a student can express or control with the C program. For the purpose of making it easier for a student to use graphics or multimedia resources and increase educational value, this paper studies a case of applying Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL), an open source software, into the C programming language learning process. The SDL-based programming course applied after completing the basic programming curriculum performed in the console window is introduced, and the educational value is evaluated through a survey. As a result, more than 56% of the respondents expressed positive opinions in terms of improved application ability, stimulating interest, and overall usefulness, and less than 4% of them had negative opinions.

  • This study explored the effects of pre-service elementary teachers' inquiries into science class dilemmas. By closely examining the characteristics of the pre-service teachers' inquiry processes and changes in their educational decisions, the effectiveness of using dilemmas as part of teacher education was determined. Twenty fourth-year university pre-service teachers participated and conducted inquiries into science class dilemmas over seven weeks. Based on pre- and post-questionnaires, KWHL tables, inquiry reports, discussions, and group class presentations, the major factors that influence the pre-service teacher's decision-making changes were extracted. The pre-service teachers found the science inquiry process meaningful when exploring the science topics covered in the dilemmas, and claimed that elementary school students would be able to engage in meaningful science explorations if they learned science through inquiry. Furthermore, the pre-service teachers explored the thinking processes and background knowledge of the students in different ways. Documents such as teacher's guides and the curriculum were examined and the students' thought processes were identified through interviews with the teachers and students, which were found to reflect their educational decision-making. Moreover, it was recognized by the pre-service teachers that depending on the situation, alternative teaching methods were possible. The focus on the unstructured dilemma problems provided the pre-service teachers with problem-solving situations that triggered scientific inquiry and exploration of student thinking and revealed the complexity of science teaching and learning. Based on these results, the teacher education implications for using dilemma cases are discussed.

  • The rapidly changing world calls for reform in mathematics education from lifelong learning perspectives. This study examines adults' perception of mathematics by reflecting on their experiences of mathematics in and out of school in order to understand what the current needs of adults are. With the two questions: "what experiences do participants have during their learning of mathematics in schools?" and "how do they perceive mathematics in their current life?", we analyzed the semi-structured interviews with 10 adults who have different sociocultural backgrounds using narrative inquiry methodology. As a result, participants tended to accept school mathematics as simply a technique for solving computational problems, and when they had not known the usefulness of mathematical knowledge, they experienced frustration with mathematics in the process of learning mathematics. After formal education, participants recognized mathematics as the basic computation skill inherent in everyday life, the furniture of their mind, and the ability to efficiently express, think, and judge various situations and solve problems. Results show that adults internalized school education to clearly understand the role of mathematics in their lives, and they were using mathematics efficiently in their lives. Accordingly, there was a need to see school education and adult education on a continuum, and the need to conceptualize the mathematical abilities required for adults as mathematical literacy.

  • In the computing environment with heterogeneous resources, a job scheduling model is necessary for effective resource utilization and high-speed data processing. And, the job scheduling model has to cope with a dynamic change in the condition of resources. There have been lots of researches on resource estimation methods and heuristic algorithms about how to distribute and allocate jobs to heterogeneous resources. But, existing researches have a weakness for system compatibility and scalability because they do not support the standard language. Also, they are impossible to process jobs effectively and deal with a variety of computing situations in which the condition of resources is dynamically changed in real-time. In order to solve the problems of existing researches, this paper proposes a semantic computing-based dynamic job scheduling model that defines various knowledge-based rules for job scheduling methods adaptable to changes in resource condition and allocate a job to the best suited resource through inference. This paper also constructs a resource ontology to manage information about heterogeneous resources without difficulty as using the OWL, the standard ontology language established by W3C. Experimental results shows that the proposed scheduling model outperforms existing scheduling models, in terms of throughput, job loss, and turn around time.

  • The purpose of this study is to extract and analyze ecological citizenship elements in the middle school home economics textbook used in the 2015 national curriculum for the introduction of ecological transformation education in the 2022 national curriculum. As a result of the analysis, the content analysis of the ecological citizenship factor was validated by six experts who are incumbent middle school home economics teachers, and the S-CVI value was 0.97, ensuring the validity of the ecological citizenship factor analysis. The results of analyzing 242 ecological citizenship factors extracted from home economics textbooks are as follows. According to the content area of the 2015 national home economics curriculum, the 'human development and family' area had the highest presence of ecological citizenship factors followed by the 'resource management and self-reliance' area and the 'home life and safety' area. Among the categories of ecological citizenship factors, 'value⋅attitude' was the most frequent, followed by 'process⋅function' and 'knowledge⋅understanding'. For each textbook composition system, ecological citizenship elements were extracted in the order of pictures, text, activities, and supplementary materials. There was a significant variation in the number of ecological citizenship factors among publishers, indicating the importance of the textbook writers' perception, interpretation, and direction of writing. Based on these analysis results, ecological citizenship teaching and learning activities applicable to home economics education were presented. This study highlights the potential for practicing ecological citizenship education in line with the new orientation of the curriculum on ecological transformation education through home economics education. Furthermore, it provides valuable baseline data for the development and implementation of textbooks for the 2022 national curriculum.

  • Now Venezuela is the most attentional country in Latin America not only in our country but also all world. Unfortunately, the current crisis is a danger that threatening the venezuelan people's right to live, so most of the news is negative. Some analysts in Korea insist that everything is the result of invasion by US imperialism, others say it is a state of default due to excessive populism. The others also described as a power game of the powers of the world by the new Cold War. But most essential thing is that Sovereign of Venezuela, Venezuelan people are marginalized in this process. Venezuela's crisis seems to have been both a combination of internal and external factors, but internal factors been a main cause. The internal factors are the dictatorship and corruption of crony capitalism of nepotism which are considered historical ailments in Latin America. Chávez criticized the oligarchy, but paradoxically, the Chávezian or current ruling forces became another oligarchy. Unfortunately, Western powers such as the United States and the EU and Venezuela's current ruling powers are at an extreme confrontation, so can be seen using cliff-edge tactics. The best solution is the free and peaceful reelection of the president. After the patriarchal winter, which spring will come the Venezuelan people must decide.

  • Simondon's theory of individuation and methodology of transduction presents a possibility of contemporary natural philosophy and a new perspective about the relation between philosophy and sciences. According to Simondon's anti-substantial viewpoint, being, as a metastable system charged with potential energy, complicates itself with quantum leaps transversing successive equilibriums. Individuation is the becoming of phases of being which transits from preindividual state to individuated states. Physical individuation as a paradigmatic model of individuation in general demonstrates not only insufficiency of form-oriented hylomorphism, but also spontaneous formational capacity of matter and reality of energetic relational operation immanent in matter. Genesis of a individual (structure or form) occurs as a resolution of the disparation between orders of magnitude, that is, the difference of potentials immanent in nature through the internal resonance, communication by information, transductive relation between the opposites. I'm trying to show that Simondon revives 'physis' of ancient natural philosophy by his own transductive applications of contemporary physics' conceptions, and therefore suggest a new non-reductive materialism. Especially Simondon's 'transduction' which is neither induction, deduction, nor dialectic, but an original ontological process and a peculiar method of thinking, I think, is worthy of note in order to construct network of knowledge and inter-relation between various sciences.
