To prevent food-borne diseases and ensure food safety, foodservice operators have been implementing the HACCP system in their facilities. Employees' knowledge of food safety can be improved through training and, as a result, their food safety behavior can be positively changed. A nonequivalent pretest and posttest control group model was designed to investigate the effectiveness of HACCP-based training on hospital foodservice employees' food safety knowledge and behavior, and to determine relationships between food safety knowledge and food safety behavior. The subjects used in this study were 84 hospital foodservice employees, assigned either to the intervention group (n=44) or the control group (n=40). Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistics were computed, while the Student's t-test and ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) were used to investigate significant differences between groups, and the Pearson correlation was used to determine significant correlations. There were significant gains in both food safety knowledge and behavior, after the HACCP-based training. However, no significant correlation was found between food safety knowledge and food safety behavior. Based on this study we conclude that HACCP-based training is effective in improving both the food safety knowledge and food safety behavior of hospital foodservice employees.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a hands-on training regarding maritime safety including abandon ship and fire-fighting as related to sea survival, fire-fighting knowledge and emergency response leadership in seafarers engaged on a seagoing ship. The study was conducted with a nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design. Two hundred-sixty-six participants were assigned to either the experimental group(128) or control group(138). The hands-on training regarding maritime safety included sea survival and fire fighting drill, and it was implemented with the experimental group for two days from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Data was analyzed using chi-square, t-test and ANCOVA by using IBM SPSS Statistics(version 24) program. The experimental group who had the hands-on training showed significantly higher sea survival knowledge(F=902.32, p<.001), shipboard fire-fighting knowledge(F=1013.76, p<.001) and emergency response leadership(F=1802.62, p<.001) for maritime safety compared with the control group who had traditional education. The results indicate that a hands-on training is an effective teaching method to improve sea survival, fire-fighting knowledge and emergency response leadership in seafarers engaged. Further study is needed to identify the effect of a hands-on training regarding maritime safety according to the environmental changes of seafarers.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to apply the Basic CPR(Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training education program and identify its effects on knowledge of Basic CPR and skills of Basic CPR in second grade high school students. Methods: The training program was conducted for 16 weeks between March 26 and July 9, 2005 using a non-equivalent control group pretest-post test design by dividing 60 students in a half for both the experimental group and the control group. General characteristics, the effect of the education were evaluated with $x^2-test$, t-test, ANCOVA, Repeated Measure ANOVA and Bonferonni with SPSS 11.0/pc. Result: After the CPR education program application, knowledge score in the experimental group increased to 20.57 right after the education from 9.32, the score measured before the training, 19.11 after 8 weeks and 18.29 after 12 weeks. On the contrary, the control group's score showed no significant before the training. According to the result of knowledge score comparison between the experimental and control group at each point in time, the experimental group had a significantly high score in knowledge at every point(p<0.001). In the effect durability for knowledge of the training education program in process time after the training program in the experimental group, the durability of effect was identified despite the elapsing time. Scores of skills for Basic CPR increased from 1.21, the score measured before the training program, to 30.07 right after the education, 23.50 after 8 weeks and 17.57 after 12 weeks in experimental group. On the contrary, the control group showed an immaterial increase. According to the result of skill score comparison between the experimental and control group at each point in time, the experimental group had a significantly high score in skill at every point(p<0.001). The score for skill increased significantly right after the education compared to the score prior to the education. Conclusions: These findings suggest that Basic CPR training education program facilitate knowledge of CPR and skill of CPR in high school students. Therefore, it would be necessary to include the Basic CPR training program in high school education curriculum. However, the effect of Basic CPR knowledge maintains for a few period, and the effect of maintaining the skill is shorter than the maintenance of knowledge so regular reeducation is considered to be needed.

This research proposed the necessary capability of cyber security professional personnel for cyber security education and training. Cyber security professional personnel were required specialized capability because the curriculum of cyber security education and training is structured around practice and training. Based on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professors, we derive candidate capabilities and index through the results of precedent research. As a result, we derived capability such the candidate capability group as teaching qualification, expert knowledge, practical ability, lecture ability, and research ability, and detailed capability index was derived accordingly. Finally, based on the questionnaire results of the professors related to the information security, it was determined that the capability required for the cyber security education and training professional personnel were expert knowledge, practical ability, and lecture ability. Among the capabilities, executive ability means that they have to fulfil abundant executive experience due to the high proportion of practical training due to the characteristics of cyber security education and training.
Background: This study was conducted with the purpose of evaluating the effect of skin cancer training provided to maritime high school students on their knowledge and behaviour. Materials and Methods: The study had a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test intervention and control groups. Two maritime high schools located in the city of Antalya were included within the scope of the study between March and June 2013, covering a total of 567 students. Results: While the knowledge mean scores of students regarding skin cancer and sun protection did not vary in the pre-test ($6.2{\pm}1.9$) and post-test ($6.8{\pm}1.9$) control group, the knowledge mean scores of students in the experimental group increased from $6.0{\pm}2.3$ to $10.6{\pm}1.2$ after the provided training. Some 25.4% of students in the experimental group had low knowledge level and 62.2% had medium knowledge level in the pre-test; whereas no students had low knowledge level and 94.3% had high knowledge level in the post-test. It was determined that tenth grade students, those who had previous knowledge on the subject, who considered themselves to be protecting from the sun better, had higher knowledge levels and their knowledge levels increased as the risk level increased. It was found that the provided training was effective and increased positively the knowledge, attitude and behaviour levels of students in the experimental group in terms of skin cancer and sun protection. Conclusions: Along with the provided training which started to form a lifestyle, appropriate attitudes and behaviours concerning skin cancer and sun protection could be brought to students who will work in outdoor spaces and are members of the maritime profession within the risk group.
We devise a layer-wise hint training method to improve the existing hint-based knowledge distillation (KD) training approach, which is employed for knowledge transfer in a teacher-student framework using a residual network (ResNet). To achieve this objective, the proposed method first iteratively trains the student ResNet and incrementally employs hint-based information extracted from the pretrained teacher ResNet containing several hint and guided layers. Next, typical softening factor-based KD training is performed using the previously estimated hint-based information. We compare the recognition accuracy of the proposed approach with that of KD training without hints, hint-based KD training, and ResNet-based layer-wise pretraining using reliable datasets, including CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, and MNIST. When using the selected multiple hint-based information items and their layer-wise transfer in the proposed method, the trained student ResNet more accurately reflects the pretrained teacher ResNet's rich information than the baseline training methods, for all the benchmark datasets we consider in this study.
The purpose of our study was to examine the effects of dietitians' sanitation training performance on the sanitation knowledge and management practice level of culinary employees. We developed a questionnaire to measure the sanitation knowledge and management practice level of culinary employees and the sanitation training performance of dietitians. The questionnaire was completed by 53 dietitians and 337 culinary employees working in food service in the Chungbuk Province. We found that the sanitation training performance of dietitians had a significant positive affect on the sanitation knowledge and management practice level of culinary employees. There was also a correlation between sanitation knowledge and the management practice level of culinary employees. We conclude that sanitation training performance by dietitians is an effective method of improving the sanitation knowledge and management practice level of culinary employees. Thus, we suggest strengthening the sanitation training programs given by dietitians to improve food hygiene and safety in the foodservice industry.

Recently, the military need more various education and training because of the increasing necessity of various operation. But the education and training of the military has the various difficulties such as the limitations of time, space and finance etc. In order to overcome the difficulties, the military use Defense Modeling and Simulation(DM&S). Although the participants in training has the empirical knowledge from education and training based on the simulation, the empirical knowledge is not shared because of particular characteristics of military such as security and the change of official. This situation obstructs the improving effectiveness of education and training. The purpose of this research is the systematizing and analysing the empirical knowledge using text mining and network analysis to assist the sharing of empirical knowledge. For analysing texts or documents as the empirical knowledge, we select the text mining and network analysis. We expect our research will improve the effectiveness of education and training based on simulation of DM&S.
The objective of this research is to develop education and training systems for IS department and user department personnel, which is essential to effective implementation IT(information technology) strategies in most of organizations. In order to achieve this research objective, first this study theoretically derives six categories of education and training based on comprehensive review of the previous research, and explicates concrete items for each category. And then, with respect to each of these items, we empirically investigate the degree of necessity measured by the gap between the required level of knowledge and skills which staff members should have for effective implementation of IT strategies and the present level of them which they really have. Field survey is employed for the data collection: 270 questionnaires are distributed to the companies in private and public sectors, and 196 questionnaires are collected in useful condition and are analyzed. The findings of this research shows that six dimensions of education and training are empirically derived by factor analysis as following: (1) general knowledge for organizational overview, (2) management knowledge and skills, (3) knowledge and skills of the specific information system which IS department and user department personnel are directly involved in developing and operating, (4) knowledge and skills for strategic use of IT, (5) general knowledge and skills for IT and (6) advanced expert knowledge and skills for specific IT. And the degree of necessity turns out to be statistically significantly different among six dimensions of education and training needed by IS department and user department personnel respectively. Also for each dimension, the degree of necessity is shown to be statistically significantly different between IS department and user department personnel The results of this study can provide the theoretical basis for constructing the IT education and training system for effective implementation of IT strategies, Also they can be used as a practical guideline in developing and promoting specific IT education and training programs in real organizations.
The purpose of this study was to develope the Complete Airway Obstruction Maneuver Training Program and identify its effects on learning motivation, knowledge and skill of choking management in the primary school students. The subjects for the experimental group of 38 students and the control group of 39 students, all of whom are primary school students in Gwangju, the Republic of Korea. A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used and data were collected from November to December, 2003. During about 2 weeks, 2 times for a week with 80 minutes at a time, the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program was conducted in the experimental group. Experimental data were analyzed through SPSS/win 11.0 PC+, and the tests examining general characteristics between the experimental group and the control group were conducted through $x^2$-test. Fisher's exact probability test and t-test, and identifying the effect of the complete airway obstruction Maneuver training program was analysed through t-test and ANCOVA. The results of the study were as follows: 1. After intervention on the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program, Learning motivation in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group. 2. After intervention on the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program, knowledge of choking management the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(F=223.637, p=.000). 3. After intervention on the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program, skill of choking management the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=46.800, p=.014). These findings suggest that the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program can facilitate learning motivation, knowledge and skill of choking management in the primary school students. Therefore it is considered that the complete airway obstruction maneuver training program can be utilized as a effective way to implement the 7th national curriculum for creative extra-activities.
