It also has presented appropriate photometric quantity control speed for behavioral change with the following results. 1)For general diffused lighting, the appropriate photometric quantity has turned out to be 4,000 to 4,500K in color temperature and illuminance value of 300 to 400lx. And 300lx at 4,500K has proven to be the most comfortable, behavior-appropriate, and preferred pair. 2)As far as appropriate photometric quantity for work is concerned, color temperature of 4,000 to 5,000K and illuminance value of 600 to 800lx are appropriate, while 700lx at 4,500 to 5,000K are the most comfortable, behavior-appropriate, and preferred set. 3)As for appropriate photometric quantity control speed in behavioral change, 3 to 5 seconds has proven the most comfortable, appropriate, and preferred for behavioral change from entry to general areas and 1 to 3 seconds for change from general to work.

Senior centers in apartment complex have been provided since 1980 according to the Housing Act in Korea. Nowadays these senior centers are model leisure facility for the elderly. However there are no specific guidelines for space composition and usage in a senior center. This study examines the space composition and usage patterns of 16 senior centers in apartment complex, Jangyou New Town. The data were collected by means of an observation, measuring, and interviews. The results are ; 1) A senior center consisted of one living room and two rooms for men and women would be appropriate; A living room is for common activities and two rooms for casual resting of each gender. 2) A kitchen is mainly used for setting the table or making tea. Thus, the living-dining-kitchen type would be appropriate. 3) Many rest rooms are located outside of a senior center and unisex one. The restroom should be separated by gender and located within the senior center. Also, the width of all doors should be more than 80cm and the floor be flat. The grab bars should be installed near the fixtures in a restroom. 4) Design and location of the shoe shelf are not convenient for the elderly to use. Residential architecture was a lot more changed due to adopting modern residential type since 1960s. But people in farm houses are still living in a space of their past life causing a discrepancy. For this reason, the paper will identify the changed use for farm houses focusing on their plane views, and reason for the changed use as well. The result of this paper is expected to play a role for practical data to reasonably change and re-model farm houses located in back of cities such as Hyunpoong area. Targeted area for this paper, in order to survey change in residential environment due to industrialization and modernization, has narrowed down to 42 farm houses which are located Yuga-Myun, Hyunpoong-Gun, Dalsung-Gun where tradition and modern characteristics are harmonized being built before 1960s Researching relied on both documentary records and survey on the site, and survey on documentary records was performed in a way that preceding research for changed use of residential area was to be compared with people's farm houses in Kyeongsang-Do area, and survey on the site was carried out by photographing and land surveying and interview and analysis for them, and finally we acquired the result by analyzing use of interior for houses and plane view and relations between culture and social environment. From the result of this paper, there was a trend that farm houses had been improved function of a specific space by enlarging space and enlarged construction for inner rooms. And among spaces, kitchen and bath room was mostly enlarged its left side, and inner room had mostly enlarged its rear side, and kitchen was frequently enlarged in its side space. These kinds of variation in space is believed to be result of change of life style and house facilities
Though the kitchens of traditional residence architecture are recognized as having significant importance to houses themselves, to women who are supposed to do most of the housekeeping work, they are generally thought to be irrational space. This study tries to show through a demonstrative way that the kitchen space of traditional houses is the sensible and rational living space for the health's sake of all family members in the relations among humans, space and environment. Through this study, we were able to see that the architectural work of our ancestors in designing space had different views from those of the West in that our ancestors had sought the outcome taking the interrelations among environment-humans-space seriously in order to shape the physical organization for human beings.
