Educational Needs Assessment for the Development of Curriculum based on Key Competencies of National Competence Standard(NCS) for Department related Culinary Arts in a 2-Year College (전문대학 조리관련 학과의 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 직업기초능력 기반 교육과정 개발을 위한 교육요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess priority of educational needs for the development of curriculum based on key competencies of NCS for departments related to culinary arts in a 2-year college. In order to achieve this objective, the survey has been distributed to cooks working in hotel restaurants or restaurant companies by social network service and a total of 360 responses were analyzed excluding 18 responses. The collected surveys were analysed by using paired t-test, Borich's needs analysis and the locus for focus analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, the difference between the level of importance and present level about key competencies recognized by cooks working in restaurant company was statistically significant in 9 fields of key competencies excluding mathematical competence. The difference recognized by cooks working in hotel was statistically significant in all 10 fields of key competencies. Second, the results of Borich's needs assessment showed that the education needs of problem solving competence were the highest, followed by interpersonal, resource management, communication, information competence. Finally, considering both Borich's needs assessment and the locus for focus analysis, cooks working in hotel restaurants recognized that educational needs of communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, information competence were the top priority, and cooks working in restaurant companies recognized that educational needs of communication, interpersonal, skill, resource management competence were the top priority. Therefore, it is necessary to develop curriculum for culinary arts specialists based on key competence of top priority.

The plan for development of subsequent curriculum based on the section 'family life' of practical arts(technology·home economics) from elementary and secondary courses and key competence (초·중등 연계와 핵심역량을 중심으로 한 실과(기술·가정)교과의 '가정생활' 영역 차기 교육과정 개발 방안)

  • This study is a discussion about specific directions and strategies for development of subsequent curriculum of practical arts(technology ome economics) based on two issues ; developing curriculum which is 'connecting elementary-secondary course' and 'based on key competence'. Specific Study is as in the following. First, in the aspect of home economics, this study explored the meaning of connection between elementary-secondary courses, and in the process of curriculum development, we explored implicit problems through strategies that come out from elementary-secondary courses. Second, we search what the key competence is in terms of home economics, and the meaning of developing curriculum based on the key competence. For this, we examine the meaning of development of subject matters curriculum based on key competence and the conditions and tasks for developing curriculum for home economics based on key competence. Third, on the basis of discussion we explore the way to realize these two issues, already mentioned, into development of subsequent curriculum for home economics. For this, this study examines the academic interaction between home economics of elementary and secondary courses unifying the names of the subject, systematic understanding about development of curriculum based on key competence, finding strategies for appealing the subject, and practical instances. Through this study, we expect more active interaction between home economics from elementary and secondary courses and academic discussion for development of curriculum.

The Authenticity of Business to Business Salespersons on Consultative Selling Competence: The Role of Customer Orientation

  • Purpose - The study investigates the role of authenticity of B2B salespersons has on their consultative selling competence. The study also examines the mediating effect of customer orientation between the authenticity of B2B salespersons and their consultative selling competence, as well as the moderating role of trust in the buyer-seller exchange. Design/methodology/approach - This research utilized a covariance-based structural equation model technique. The study assessed the research model's moderation effects through a stepwise approach, which allowed for an examination of the moderating effect of trust in the buyer-seller relationship. Findings - As a result of structural equation analysis, this study found that the authenticity of B2B salespersons influences their consultative selling competence by mediating their customer orientation significantly. In addition, trust in the buyer-seller exchange plays a significant role as a moderating variable between customer orientation and competitive selling competence, but it is not significant as a moderating variable between the authenticity and customer orientation of B2B salespersons. Research implications or Originality - This research proposed the role of authenticity of the B2B salesperson as a key factor in the trust-based relationship and a key variable of consultative selling competence. The study has taken the research on the authenticity of the B2B salesperson one step further from the study of authenticity of the brand and the company's leadership.

Priorities Analysis of NCS Vocational Key Competence of Nurse using AHP Method (AHP기법을 활용한 간호사의 NCS직업기초능력 우선순위 분석)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the research is understand the priorities of national competency standards vocational key competence factors in nurse who is work in Seoul and Incheon. Methods: The design of this study is descriptive investigation research, and the subjects were 144 nurse. we establish the vocational key competency defined in national competency standards as analytic hierarchy analysis model. The vocational key competency has 10 categories and 34 sub-categories. And based on the survey in nurse, the weight representing relative importance of each factor were calculated by using analytic hierarchy process method. Results: The analytic hierarchy process analysis on 10 categories showed that professional ethics(0.149) was higher than any other categories while that of numeracy(0.040) was at the bottom. And the analysis on sub-categories revealed that the most important factors in each categories included the Ethical community(Professional ethics), Conflict management skills(Interpersonal skills), Problem solving capability(Problem-solving skills), Listening skills(Communication skills), Applicable technical skills(Technical skills), Ability to understand business(Ability to understand organizational structures), Information processing capabilities(Information capacity), Self-management skills(Self-development capability), Ability to manage time(Resource management capabilities), Basic math skills(Numeracy). Conclusions: The results in this study can be used as basic data for the development of liberal arts curriculum for Nursing.

  • This paper investigates the role of corporate entrepreneurship for enhancing a firm's market orientation and competence. It distinguishes exploitive competence enhancement from explorative competence enhancement. The results reveal that corporate entrepreneurship influences both exploitive competence enhancement and explorative competence enhancement. Interestingly, among the components of market orientation, competitor orientation plays key roles, facilitating interfunctional coordination, and thus increasing exploitive competence enhancement and explorative competence enhancement. However, customer orientation affects only explorative competence enhancement.

  • Technology transfer has emerged as one of me important key issues for obtaining competitive advantage. To improve the chances of effective technology transfer, a strategic alliance between partners have to mirror respective objectives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of core competences on organizational performance in domestic companies, including the moderating effect of technology transfer. This study adopted research variables such as technology competence, resource competence, marketing competence as independent variables, with organizational performance as a dependent variable, including the moderating variable of technology transfer. 113 companies data were collected from me survey. The result of this empirical study is summarized as follows. First, marketing, resource, and technology competence are the important determinants to influence organizational performance in direct effect model. Second, only marketing competence has positive influence to organizational performance in organizations with higher needs of technology transfer. Third, technology transfer as a moderating variable moderates me effect of the core competences on organizational performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out constitutions of education service quality in NCS based education and to investigate the effects on vocational key competence, loyalty to college and self-confidence in getting job of college students as important performance variables. The results of this study are as follows. In the NCS based education, five dimensions of education service quality were teaching-learning-lecture, reputation, education program, administrative service and facilities. It is analyzed that the teaching-learning-lecture and administrative service have a great influence on vocational key competence of students. In addition, education service quality and vocational key competence were analyzed as important factors for student's loyalty to college and self-confidence in getting job and proved to be important performance variables.

  • This study is key competence port logistics companies analyze the priorities of evaluation factors. key competence index of NCS(National competency standard) was designed on the basis of the research model. The priorities of evaluation factors were analyzed using AHP method. The results of the analysis of 1 layer's key competence priorities are as follows: Interpersonal skills(0.217), communication skills(0.153), ability to develop problem(0.148), ability to understand the organization(0.103), and resource management skills(0.090), self-development ability and professional ethics(0.070), information skills(0.065), technical skills(0.049), numeracy skills(0.035).

The Impact of Distribution Competence on Customer Value Creation, Competitive Advantage and Performance of Retailers in Omni-channel: A Case in Vietnam

  • Purpose: Distribution competence plays a key role in supply chain management. A successful distribution system will bring high values and profit for company. Omni-channel is a modern type of distribution which is used by many companies to access customers more effectively. This research is about the influence of distribution competence on customer value creation, competitive advantage and business performance of retailers in omni-channel. Research design, data and methodology: Questionnaires were issued to 200 managers who have experiences in using an Omni-channel to provide consumer goods. PLS-SEM is used to check the relationship among these above factors in omni-channel in Vietnam context. Results: Distribution competence has positive direct effect on business performance. At the same time, it has positive indirect effect on business performance through the mediating role of customer value creation and competitive advantage. Moreover, the role of mediating variables make contribution to strengthen the relationship of distribution competence and business performance in omni-channel. Conclusions: Through distribution competence, retailers can get competitive advantage, create more values for customers and increase business performance in omni channel in Vietnam.

The Effect of Project Method on the Key Competencies on the unit of "Making Model by Architecture" in the Vocational High Schools (특성화 고등학교 '건축모형제작' 단원에서 프로젝트법을 적용한 수업이 직업기초능력 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aimed to identify the effect of the instruction applied with a project method for the 'Making Model by Architecture' unit in vocational High schools on the improvement of the Key competences. With this aim, the study selected as an experimental group, control group third graders in two classroom in G vocational High Schools in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. Aiming at the selected students in the experimental group and the control group, the study conducted a pre-test of their Key competences; thus, the study confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference. Then, the study offered a class applied with a project method to the experimental group, while offering a traditional instruction to the control group. After offering the class, the study undertook a post-test, and verified the effect. In order to prove the test result, the study carried out a Hest using the SPSSWIN 12.0 statistical program, while the significance level being ${\alpha}$<.05. The conclusions obtained from this study include the following. All the six selected areas including 'problem-solving skills', 'communication skills', 'resource utilization competence', 'mathematical competence', 'interpersonal management competence' and 'self-management competence', which were supposed to be appropriate for this study among the sub-areas of Key competences, were found to show significant differences between the experimental group applied with a project method and the control group as a result of the post-test of the two groups. In summarizing the above research results, the class using a project method for the 'Making Model by Architecture' unit was discovered to be effective for improving Key competences. In particular, it may be more effective learning method for enhancing six areas greatly relevant to the project method among various sub-areas of Key competences.
