An Empirical Study on the Strategy and Implications of M&A in Korea IT companies (한국 IT 기업의 M&A 전략과 시사점)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of mergers and acquisitions of domestic IT companies on strategic aspects of internal capacity enhancement. Empirical analysis applied to this study analyzed the business performance in the market through the merger of Daum Communications and Kakao Group. After Daum pursued the merger with Kakao, it showed that the platform business of kakao is expanding to the domain of the existing portal site. The merger was completed, and the total value of the stocks went up to the highest level, but soon its value declined. The merger shows that the growth potential of the enterprise is temporarily declining, which seems to be the internal cost of the merger. Even in the case of profitability, the merger did not show positive results. In the case of stability, the expectation due to the merger was reflected and slightly increased. The following two companies were interested in the kakao when they viewed the merger through a chronological analysis. However, after the merger, the interest of the next kakao was similar. This is seen as a result of the expansion of kakao's diverse platform business rather than the following search sites. From the results of this study, it is suggested that domestic IT companies should approach by analyzing the strategic factors that generate synergy when pursuing M & A to strengthen their resources or capabilities.

Weight Control Program through the Fortification of Food Consumption Monitoring on Obese Female College Students - Using Smart-Phone with Real Time Communication Application - (비만 여대생을 대상으로 음식섭취 모니터링 강화를 통한 체중조절 - 스마트폰의 실시간 커뮤니케이션 어플리케이션을 이용하여 -)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of real time communication digital photography method using Kakao Talk application in smart-phone for the fortification of food consumption monitoring and weight reduction. Thirty-four female college students were randomly assigned to the camera-phone (CP) group or smart-phone (SP) group. Each group participated in the weight control program for 8 weeks. The mean energy intake of CP group during program was 1353.5 kcal and the SP group consumed 1289.2 kcal. The total energy intake of both groups was significantly decreased during the program. The CP group lost 1.9 kg of body weight and 1.9% of body fat and the SP group lost 4.3 kg of body weight and 3.0% of body fat. The body weight was significantly decreased in the SP group compared to the CP group. The triglyceride and total cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol level of SP group were significantly decreased during the program. However, there were no significant changes in CP group during the program. Also there were no significant changes in lipid profile between two groups. In this study, it is considered that real time communication digital photography method using Kakao Talk application in smart-phone might influence weight control through a trained consumption monitoring. Therefore, smart-phone can lead individuals to rely more heavily on easy-to-monitor visual cues.

  • 본 논문은 모바일 기기인 스마트폰이 교육환경을 바꾸고 있는 현실에 착안하여 대학 수업에 필요한 몇 가지 방안을 제시하였다. 모바일 기기인 스마트폰은 휴대성과 신속성이 강하기 때문에 컴퓨터와 노트북이 갖는 불편한 점을 보완할 수 있다. 그렇기에 스마트폰은 교육적 활용도가 높다. 먼저 교수는 수업 전에 학생들이 카카오톡을 가입해서 활동할 수 있게 한다. 예컨대 단체 카톡방, 조별 카톡방을 운영해서 공지사항을 올리고 학생들과 소통해야 한다. 때로는 개별 카톡방을 운용하면서 학생들에게 필요한 정보와 상담을 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 학생들은 주어진 과제를 수행하기 위해서 조별 카톡방을 적극 활용해야 한다. 이는 학생들이 조별 카톡방을 통해 과제를 수행하는 과정에서 발생하는 시간과 공간의 제약을 극복하게 해주기 때문이다.

The Analysis on Corporate Image of Korean Game Companies (게임사의 기업 이미지에 대한 분석적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze corporate image of Korean game companies. The questionnaires such as corporate image, gaming playing period, dispute with parents included The lowest score was 2.75 on Han Game which is servicing web board games. Kakao which is a game platform got the highest score. Result through the tests showed that 5 companies were categorized into 3 groups, lower group(Han Game and NEXON), middle (NCSoft and Netmarble), higher (Kakao). Correlation with gender factor showed that only NEXON is significant. NEXON Score by female is higher than that of male. In addition, longer playing period on NEXON games has negative corporate image. Correlation between conflict with parents and negative corporate image of NEXON is also significant.

An Analysis on Planners and Project Objectives of Kakao Storyfunding

  • This study is based on the purpose of organizing and planning a fundraising for Daum Kakao's 'storyfunding' during the recent crowdfunding that uses mobile-based Internet platforms to raise funds. Analysis by project subjects shows that one planner is more efficient if the ability of one planner, such as 'publishing', is important. However, there were many group A types of contents that require variety of expertise such as 'campaign' and 'journalism' after funding is completed. As a result of analysis by planning purposes, there were the most funds available to produce contents. This is a sign that there are many projects that match the basic purpose of story funding. There are also many other purposes for the purpose of raising public opinion for the project or the establishment of monuments, or for the support of people, animals, or animal rights groups. And there is a private equity fund to sell or promote products. Such quantitative research and analysis will accurately determine the current situation of crowdfunding and will provide basic data such as efficient human composition and goals setting to achieve the goals of crowdfunding in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of project learning using chatbots on artificial intelligence literacy. The subjects of the study were a total of 41 students from 1st to 3rd grade of general high school in Gyeonggi-do. Classes were held after school for a total of 6 hours, and the contents of the classes consisted of the concept and characteristics of artificial intelligence, the concept and expression of knowledge, OBT application for Kakao i open builder, guidance on how to create chatbots, and chatbot production practice. As a result of the pre- and post-test of the experimental group, the quantitative value of artificial intelligence literacy increased in all three grades. In the case of second-year students who set up a comparison group, when compared with the results of the comparison group, there was a significant positive effect on the AI literacy result, and female students were found to be more effective than male students.

  • Mobile application is growing explosively with the advent of a new technology: smartphones. Mobile application is a new marketing channel and performs as a start-up platform. This study examines the effect of mobile application on the off-line market. Despite the continuous declining demand for taxi service, paradoxically, the supply of taxi service has increased. The taxi industry can be categorized into general taxi and call taxi. General taxi is accidental and inefficient because it has to search for its own passenger. As call taxi takes the request of a passenger, it is more efficient than general taxi. However, the current defective passenger-taxi driver matching system and insufficient taxi driver management hinder the development of the call taxi market. Differences in differences (DID) is an econometrical methodology that examines whether or not an event has meaningful influence. This research uses DID to investigate the effect of the Kakao taxi application on the call taxi industry. Furthermore, it examines the effect of major companies' reckless diversification, which is considered unethical behavior. The passengers of call taxi data from August 2014 to July 2015 and those of designated driving service data of the same period were collected as the control group.

  • The usage of emoticons used in the online environment continues to increase, and also the market for emoticons is growing rapidly. Emoticons go beyond simply conveying the meaning of a message and play various roles such as smooth communication, pursuit of fun, and intimacy. In this study, we first identify the factors that motivate users to use emoticons in an online messenger service, and then determine whether the derived factors have a significant effect on emoticon usage. Furthermore, based on Regulatory Focus Theory, we will distinguish between the group of promotion focus and the group of prevention focus to see how the influence of motives on emoticon usage differs.

  • 본 논문은 HTML과 CSS를 사용하여 기본적인 웹페이지를 작성하고, 카카오 지도 API를 활용하여 주변 스터디 룸 위치를 입력할 수 있는 기능을 구현한다. 카카오 개발자 웹사이트에서 API 키를 발급받아야 하며, 이를 사용하여 JavaScript 코드를 작성하고 웹페이지에 추가하여 지도와 위치 입력 기능을 구현한다. 또한, 회원가입 및 로그인 기능을 구현하기 위해 Node. JS를 사용하며, 사용자의 회원가입 정보를 입력받아 DB에 저장하고 로그인 시 DB와 비교하여 인증하는 기능을 포함합니다. MySQL을 사용하여 DB 테이블을 생성하고 연동하는 작업을 수행한다.

A survey on the use of mobile phones due to COVID-19

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the use of mobile phones due to COVID-19. The subjects of this study were those who lived in Jeju City and used their own mobile phone for more than 2 years, and were included in adult men and women aged 15 to 80 years old. The purpose of this study was explained and a questionnaire survey was conducted on 156 people who agreed. The survey period lasted from June 15 to July 4, 2020. As a result, the daily use time and function of the mobile phone, which were used more than before the occurrence of COVID-19, increased. This was a statistically significant trend (p<0.001) with increasing trend after COVID-19 in all age groups. In addition, in the mobile phone function, all age groups used more 'KakaoTalk' than 'call', but it was found that only the group with less than 1 hour of daily using time used the call function a lot.
