  • This paper describes an early detection for indication of electric accident using current waveform which is measured in electric equipments consisted incandescent lamps. At first, it analyzes characteristics of current monitor in resistive electric circuit. In second, the electric equipment is consisted of incandescent lamps. And the electric accident is simulation of tracking according to KS C IEC(Korea Standard C International Electrostatic Commission) 60112 at some part of the electric equipment. The indication of the electrical accident is detected to analyzing current waveform measured by current monitor. As the tracking breakdown, electric accident, processes, as current pulse is bigger and ratio of appearance also is increased irrespective of amount of load.

  • This paper describes a detecting method for indication of an electric accident in electric equipments. For that, loads of electric equipment is consisted of incandescent lamps. And the electric accident is simulated a tracking test apparatus according to KS C IEC (Korea Standard C International Electrostatic Commission) 60112 at some part of the simulation of the electric equipment. Simulated electric accident is occurred from static states through discharge in progress, carbon formation to tracking breakdown. The total current of electric equipments is measured and analyzed for detecting of indication of the electric accident using a current monitor. For the result, as an electric accident processed, as a current pulse is bigger and a ratio of appearance also increases at certain part of current waveforms. And standard deviation and probability distribution for certain part of current waveforms show remarkably different pattern in each step of electric accident which is irrespective of amount of load.

  • Currently, in KS C IEC 60079-10-1, the leakage hole radius of secondary leakage is expressed as a recommendation. Underestimation of leak hole size can lead to underestimation of the calculated values for leak rates, and conservative calculations of leak hole sizes, which are considered for safety reasons, can be overestimated, resulting in an overestimated risk range. This too should be avoided. Therefore, a careful and balanced approach is necessary when estimating the size of leaking holes.Based on this logic, this study examines the stability by grasping the concentration inside the gas box when leaking dangerous substances as a result of experiments based on SEMI S6, an international safety standard applied in the semiconductor industry and The scope of explosion hazardous area was determined by applying the formula of KS C IEC 60079-10-1 according to SEMI F15 leak rate criteria and SEMI S6 leak rate criteria. Based on this, we will examine whether the exhaust performance needs to be improved as an alternative to FAB facilities that are difficult to apply to explosion hazards such as semiconductor industry.

  • This paper describes the influence of the bridge formed between electrodes by electrolyte for tracking process. Electrolytes is made by IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) 60589, NaCl added to deionized water as each 1, 3, 5[wt%]. The used test equipment is made according to KS(Korean Industrial Standard) C IEC 00112. It is investigated voltage, current, value of resistance and thermal image when bridge formed between electrodes on tracking process. As a result, as conductivity of electrolyte gets bigger as Joule's heat on bridge also gets bigger. But It is not over electrolyte's boiling point due to evaporation heat of electrolyte. However as conductivity of electrolyte gets bigger as the necessary time of dry band gets shorter. So dry band is existed more long time between ahead of droplet to next droplet and discharge chance at dry band gets much. Therefore tracking process gets faster.

  • Recently, application area of the thyristor is extends to power conversion systems, such as HVDC, BTB, SVC and FACTS. Therefore, reliability diagnostic technique on thyristor is needed to obtain stability and maintenance of power conversion systems. To measure the characteristics of the thyristor, test equipments which based on IEC 747-6 and KS C 7023 standard are needed. In this paper, we presents the design and manufacture of the test equipments for 6.5kV/4.2kA thyristor which used in thyristor valve of HVDC conversion systems by using test standard. Voltage, current, dv/dt and turn-off time test equipments were designed and manufactured. Each systems were made separately, but unity operation can possible.

  • This experimental study showed the tracking characteristics of contaminated insulating materials of RCD. Electrolytes is made by IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) 60589, NaCl added to deionized water as each 0.1 wt%. The used test equipment is application to KS(Korean Industrial Standard) C IEC 60112. The used samples is RCD(Residual Current Device) of tree companies. It is investigated carbonic electric conductive pass growth time and tracking growth form that contaminated insulators materials of RCD. As a result, carbonic electric conductive pass growth time and tracking growth form was different each companies. Track growth time of contaminated insulating materials was faster than non-contaminated.
