  • This paper presents controller design method for nonlinear radar gimbal system with parameter uncertainty and time delay. In order to consider nonlinearity of gimbal bearing frictional torque, we firstly represent fuzzy model for the nonlinear gimbal system, which is achieved by fuzzy combination of linear models through nonlinear fuzzy membership functions. And secondly we propose a delay dependent fuzzy $H_\infty$ controller design method for the delayed fuzzy model with parameter uncertainty and design radar gimbal controller. The designed controller stabilize gimbal system and guarantee $H_\infty$ performance. A computer simulation is given to illustrate stabilized control performances of the designed controller.

Shape comparison of Wax-up carved crown and CAD-designed crown (Wax-up으로 조각한 치관과 CAD로 설계한 치관의 형태 비교)

  • Purpose: With the development of digital dental technology, we are manufacturing prosthetic crown in various ways. However, the wax-up method that makes existing prosthetic crown is also used steadily. Thus, we will compare the shape of the crown designed with wax-up and the crown designed with CAD. Methods: Sculpt the crown with wax-up on the model to 10 dental technicians. The same model was used to design the crown CAD. Measure the size of the sculpted crown. The shapes were compared in three dimensions. Results: As a result, we could observe a difference in size and shape in crown designed with wax - up crown and crown. Conclusion: These results suggest that there are differences according to the method of carving crown and the method of processing.

  • This paper presents a scheme for the parameter estimation and stabilization of unstable systems, such as inverted pendulum systems. First a stable feedback loop is constructed for an inverted pendulum system and then its parameters are estimated based on input-output data, a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) and the model adjustment technique. Then, a PI-type LQ control scheme is designed based on the estimated model. The performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through a set of simulation and experiment.

  • This paper considers a new weighed model reduction method using block diagonal solutions of Lyapunov inequalities. With the input and/or output weighting function, the stability of the reduced order system is guaranteed and an a priori error bound is proposed. to achieve this after finding the solutions of two Lyapunov inequalities and balancing the full order system, we find the reduced order systems using the direct truncation and the singular perturbation approximation. The proposed method is compared with other existing methods using numerical examples.

  • The method of designing robust two degree of freedom(2 DOF) controllers for linear systems with parameter uncertainties and unmodeled dynamics is presented in this paper. Robust performance condition that accounts for robust model matching of closed loop system and disturbance rejection is derived. Using the robust performance condition, the feedback controller is designed to meet robust stability and disturbance rejection specifications, while prefilter is used to improve the robust model matching properties. The $H^{\infty}$ and $\mu$ controller for six degree of freedom vehicle with parameter variations are designed and compared. Simulations for hydrodynamic parameter variations and disturbance are presented to demonstrate the achievement of good robust performance.

  • This study presents a new estimation of optimal amount of B/L for infantry rifles and artillery weapons which are currently using in Korean Army. To do that, we analyzed current concept of B/L and methodologies used to compute B/L before, and re-calculate optimal amount of B/L to solve some problems founded. We also applied ARENA simulation model to propose estimated values of optimal B/L. The proposed optimal B/L will certainly help to improve efficiency for wartime readiness in the future.

  • This paper presents an overview of the concepts of optimal feeder design in relation to the loading of bulk solids for Automatic filling system that should be control the amount of goods and packaging to seal. Feeder modular device, important parts of the package, so in order to perform a conceptual design optimization techniques are applied in two steps. First of all derive the problems through structural analysis for the conceptual model of vibrating feeder. Secondly derive reasonable design model based on the results of the structural analysis of modified boundary shape and then verify it. The proposed system has the following goal that is satisfies the dynamic stability with minimum weight and optimization of the shape. As a result, the weight reduction of feeder is 2.1% and 7% increase in the natural frequency.

  • In order to investigate interactions of autoxidizing lipids with protein, enzyme and peroxidizing linoleate were reacted in freeze-dried and emulsion systems at various level of water activities. Peroxide value, TBA value of oxidized linoleate increased during incubation Solubilities and the activities of enzymes decreased as water activity increased.

Field investigation and seismic analysis of a historical brick masonry minaret damaged during the Van Earthquakes in 2011

  • The paper presents the field investigations and seismic analyses of a historical masonry brick minaret damaged during October 23 (Erciş) and November 9 (Edremit), 2011 Van earthquakes in Turkey. Ulu Mosque Minaret located on Tebriz Kap1 Street in the city centre of Van, Turkey is selected for investigation. Two earthquakes hit the minaret within seventeen days, causing progressive damage. It was seen from the field investigations that the minaret was heavily damaged. To validate the field investigations, three dimensional finite element model of the minaret is constituted by ANSYS software using relievo drawings. Finite element model of the minaret is analyzed under the Van earthquake records to determine the seismic behavior. The displacements, maximum and minimum principal stresses and strains are obtained from the analyses and compared with field observations.

  • McClelland와 Rumelhart (1981)의 상호작용활성화 모형과 Feigembaum과 Simon (1984)의 초보지각자-기억자 모형 (Elementary Perceiver and Memorizer, EPAM)을 두 음절 한글단어에서의 낱자 지각을 중심으로 검증한 김 재갑과 김 정오 (1990)의 실험을 새 자극 단어들과 변수를 포함시킨 두 실험을 수행하였다. 여섯 낱자들로 구성된 단어의 둘째 음절위치에서 단어 내의 낱자들은 단독으로 제시되는 낱자들보다 더 부정확하게 파악되었고 (단어열등효과), 이 결과는 다섯 낱자로 된 두 음절 단어들에서는 관찰되지 않았고, 그 배후 기제는 세 낱자들로 구성된 단어의 부분에 대한 제한된 주의 용량의 배정임을 시사하는 결과를 얻었다. 본 연구의 결과들은 상호작용활성화 모형보다 EPAM 모형에 의해 더 잘 다루어짐이 밝혀졌다.
