  • PV system output is determined according to the weather conditions, the azimuth and tilt angle. Weather conditions are changing every moment and it seems to vary according to the daily, monthly, and annual basis. The azimuth and tilt angle is decided along the site conditions for the PV system installation. This paper analyzed the PV system output through the changing the weather conditions, the azimuth, and tilt angle. We compared the TMY data and analysis of the two major weather institutes which are KMA and METEONORM. PV system output trend were analyzed by changing the azimuth and tilt angle. We used simulation tool, which is named PVsyst for the entire PV system analysis.

  • The LCL resonant inductive power transfer (IPT) system is increasingly used because of its harmonic filtering capabilities, high efficiency at light load, and unity power factor feature. However, the modeling and controller design of this system become extremely difficult because of parameter uncertainty, high-order property, and switching nonlinear property. This paper proposes a frequency and load uncertainty modeling method for the LCL resonant IPT system. By using the linear fractional transformation method, we detach the uncertain part from the system model. A robust control structure with weighting functions is introduced, and a control method using structured singular values is used to enhance the system performance of perturbation rejection and reference tracking. Analysis of the controller performance is provided. The simulation and experimental results verify the robust control method and analysis results. The control method not only guarantees system stability but also improves performance under perturbation.

  • In this study it was evaluated that hybrid air conditioning and ventilation system to reduce energy consumption and keep on comfortable indoor environment in an underground shopping center. Room temperature by hybrid HAVC system was controled as $1.8{\sim}2.1^{\circ}C$ low and indoor humidity was controled as $4.1{\sim}5.0%RH$ low, and response was fast in $2.0{\sim}2.5$ times compared with conventional system. And also transportation efficiency of hybrid HVAC system was improved in about 27%, and total energy consumption rate of hybrid HVAC system is decreased in 16% compared with conventional system.

  • This paper discusses a DC distribution system which has been supplied by external AC systems as well as local microturbine distributed generation system in order to demonstrate an overall solution to power quality issue. Based on the dynamic model of the converter, a design procedure has been presented. In this paper, the power flow control in DC distribution system has been achieved by network converters. A suitable control strategy for these converters has been proposed, too. They have DC voltage droop regulator and novel instantaneous power regulation scheme. Also, a novel control system has been proposed for MT converter. Several case studies have been studied and the simulation results show that DC distribution system including microturbine unit can provide the premium power quality using proposed methods.

  • In the offshore crane system, the requirements on the operating safety are extremely high due to many external factors. Rope extension is one of the factors producing vertical vibration of load. In this study, the load is carried by the motor-winch actuator control and the rope is modeled as a mass-damper-spring system. To control the load position and suppress the vertical vibration of the load, a control system based on input-output linearization method is proposed. By the simulation and experiment results with pilot crane model, the effectiveness of proposed control method is evaluated and verified.

  • First-order least-squares method of a distributed optimal control problem for the incompressible Stokes equations is considered. An optimality system for the optimal solution are reformulated to the equivalent first-order system by introducing the vorticity and then the least-squares functional corresponding to the system is defined in terms of the sum of the squared $H^{-1}$ and $L^2$ norms of the residual equations of the system. Finite element approximations are studied and optimal error estimates are obtained. Resulting linear system of the optimality system is symmetric and positive definite. The V-cycle multigrid method is applied to the system to test computational efficiency.

  • Chilled Beam system is the kind of water-air system which reduces the conveyance energy for air conditioning as well as allows efficient installation and comfortable indoor environment, and has been increasingly popular mainly in Europe. To effectively install such Chilled Beam system domestically, it is necessary to develop the product considering domestic climatic condition and the requirements for air conditioning system, and particularly the way to deal with condensation during operation of cooling system in summer shall be provided. In this study, the optimal design on induction structure of Chilled Beam unit was carried out through a numerical method, and the performance test for the prototype of unit was conducted in a real-scale experiment facilities of Chilled Beam unit. While the flowrate of 1st air is 101.3 CMH, the pressure in pressure chamber is 158.7 Pa and the cooling capacities of 1st air side and 2nd air side are 498.1 W and 709.5 W respectively.

  • In this paper, the front-end of a digital receiver with a 25 kHz carrier frequency, 5 kHz symbol rate, and any excess-bandwidth is designed using two basic facts. The first is known as the uniform sampling theorem, which states that the sampled sequence might not suffer from aliasing even if its sampling rate is lower than the Nyquist sampling rate if the analog signal is a bandpass one. The other fact is that if the sampling rate is 4 times the center frequency of the sampled sequence, the front-end processing complexity can be dramatically reduced due to the half of the sampled sequence to be multiplied by zero in the demixing process. Furthermore, the designed front-end is simplified by introducing sub-filters and sub-sampling sequences. The designed front-end is composed of an A/D converter, which takes samples of a bandpass filtered signal at a 20 kHz rate; a serial-to-parallel converter, which converts a sampled bandpass sequence to 4 parallel sub-sample sequences; 4 sub-filter blocks, which act as a frequency shifter and lowpass filter for a complex sequence; 4 synchronized switches; and 2 adders. The designed front-end dramatically reduces the computational complexity by more than 50% for frequency shifting and lowpass filtering operations since a conventional front-end requires a frequency shifting and two lowpass filtering operations to get one lowpass complex sample, while the proposed front-end requires only four filtering operation to get four lowpass complex samples, which is equivalent to one filtering operation for one sample.

  • This paper proposes a Distributed Autonomous Robotic System(DARS) based on an Artificial Immune System(AIS) and a Classifier System(CS). The behaviors of robots in the system are divided into global behaviors and local behaviors. The global behaviors are actions to search tasks in given environment. These actions are composed of two types: aggregation and dispersion. AIS decides one among these two actions, which robot should select and act on in the global. The local behaviors are actions to execute searched tasks. The robots learn the cooperative actions in these behaviors by the CS in the local one. The proposed system will be more adaptive than the existing system at the viewpoint that the robots learn and adapt the changing of tasks.
