Analysis on Pataphysics of the Metamorphosis in Film 'X-Men' (영화 '엑스맨(X-Men)'의 변신모티브에 나타난 파타피직스 분석)

  • The movie, X-men, develops the narrative with metamorphosis as the main motif making visual effects of characters and background. The objective of this study is to suggest that the metamorphosis motif can be materialized based on the virtuality of "pataphysics" as one of the genre characteristics of superhero movies and the newly materialized virtuality can be aesthetic characteristics of metamorphosis motif movies. With the virtuality that has its own characteristics with metaphorical symbols such as satire on an absurd society out of existing traditions, pataphysics started in mid-twentieth century and has had an impact on art movements of dadaism, surrealism, pop art, and postmodernism. Analyzing the characteristics of pataphysics which were shown in these artworks, we applied it to metamorphosis scenes of the movie. As a result, we found out that it visualized the shape and aspect of inner and outer strength of a superhero with aesthetic characteristics of metamorphosis scenes and it realized the presence, hybridity, and ex-formal properties of pataphysics consisting of overlapped virtual and physical reality, with technical virtuality.

  • The 21th century is the time-area where knowledge, information and culture are considered as the pivotal factor for keeping society. Thus, this affects every part which consists of culture. By 2000, various cultural changes create several culture trends all over the world. Above all, advent of CHAV is the remarkable cultural phenomenon because of its life style, fashion and self-awareness. This study analyzes CHAV's life style and fashion based on regarding it as subordinate culture. In terms of these aspects, CHAV's fashion can be divided into three parts by its inner and outer traits. The first is merrymaking style which is composed of combination, parody and excessive decoration of different factors. This is a kind of Pop-Art style that imitates mass consuming culture. The second is ostentation style which emphasizes CHAV's traits and acts group behavior. The third is violence style. CHAV tries to appear violent and indifferent for gaining their rights and power. As a result, CHAV is the rebounding phenomenon that means psychological fear and conflict which neglected people have to resist official authority.

  • The dynamics and distribution characteristics of Coryjopsis coreana popujation at Cheongsogol, Sunchon, Cholanam-do, Korea, were investigated. The Coryiopsis coreana pop ulation was distributed along the forest edge and it showed characteristics which were distributed on only directional slopes of the north, northeast or northwest. The Coryjopsis coreana constituted subtree or shrub layer in the forest, and its floristic composition was basically similar to those of adjacent areas where the species does not exist. The number of stump was 6.25 per $25\;m^2$, and each stump had 3 sproutings in average. The density of the Corylopsis coreana population in the study area was lower than that in other area, which suggests the population is declining in the study area.

  • The purpose of this study is to help understanding of fun image in fashion & pattern to play a guideline's role in the development on fashion designs study. The methods of this study are academic literatures as well as practical study through case studies about actual works. Formative characteristics of fun image in fashion & pattern are summarized amusement, unexpecting, childishness, and incongruity as follows. First, Amusement pursuits pleasure, freedom, vitality of living and getting away from reality, while doing the mind gently. Second, Unexpecting leads to stop a moment by unforeseen circumstances which gives embarrassing. This embarrassing induces new ideas that led to a larger perspective on the will from exhilarating fun of the thrill of driving pleasure on fashion. Third, Childishness shows a pureness and relaxedness by approaching for innocent and naive child's Sights away from the desire required adult social roles. Fourth, Incongruity aim for fresh of fashion through humanism and freedom in mechanized and standardized society Recently fun images have received attention is interpreted that joy, pleasure, enjoyment because fun image gives emotional comfort in uncertainty, dissatisfaction, and rapid changes society.

디지털 사이니지의 위치기반 서비스 기술의 현황 및 전망

  • 최근 디지털 사이니지 분야는 광고분야의 한정적 매체 특성을 벗어나 첨단 기술과 서비스 콘텐츠를 결합하여 다양한 분야에서 새로운 형태의 매체로 변화하고 있다. 특히, 광고 업계의 침체와 기존 단순 영상 송출의 한계를 증강현실, 동작인식, 다양한 매체간 목적성 연동, 위치기반 맞춤형 서비스 등을 제공하며 융합적, 결합적 서비스 매체로 진화하고 있다. 2000년대 초 디지털 사이니지의 국내 보급은 국외를 포함해서 보급이 매우 빨랐다. 디지털 사이니지는 광고 목적으로 시작됐지만, 외형적 성장 속도에 비해 매체를 통해 제공되는 콘텐츠, 서비스, 운용 기술 및 S/W 개발 등의 질적 성장은 상대적으로 소극적이었다. 그러나 최근 아시아를 중심으로 한류 열풍이 확산되면서 K-POP, 화장품, 의류, 바이오 등 산업을 중심으로 디지털 사이니지의 수요가 증가하는 추세이며, IT와 융복합되면서 교육, 정보 제공, 예술분야에 적극 활용됨에 따라 국내 디지털 사이니지 산업이 새로운 전기를 맞고 있다. 특히, 위치 기반 서비스는 2000년 후반 차량용 네비게이션 시장을 시작으로 현재 스마트폰에 기본으로 장착되면서 이제는 서비스 전분야에 직/간접적으로 활용되는 다양한 기술이 개발되고 있는 실정이다. 이와 같이 디지털 사이니지는 첨단 기술과 결합하여 다양한 형태의 지능적 처리 능력을 이용함으로써 현재 광범위하게 사용되는 위치 기반 기술과 서비스를 결합한 새로운 매체 인프라로 생활 공간에서 급속히 확산되고 있다. 본고에서는 현재 뜨거운 화두가 되고 있는 디지털 사이니지와 위치 기반 기술의 기술 및 시장 현황을 살펴보고, 기술 및 서비스 융복합에 따른 앞으로의 디지털 사이니지 분야와 결합된 위치 기반 서비스의 미래를 전망해 본다.

Release Characteristics of Phosphorus in Nakdong Estuary Barrage (낙동강 하구호에서의 인의 용출특성)

  • The study of characteristics of phosphorus release in Nakdong Estuary Barrage was conducted in June and July, 1989. Batch type reactor was designed for evaluating of release flux. The fractional composition of organic phosphorus and inorganic phosphorus in sediment were $34.7\%,\;66.7\%$, respectively. Inorganic phosphorus was fractionated into three types; Adsorbed-P, Non Apatite Inorganic-P, Apatite-P. The major forms of inorganic phosphorus were Non Apatite Inorganic-P($61.1\%$) and apatite-P($30.0\%$). Release rates of phosphorus from sediment were $-4.4mg/m^2/d$ in aerobic condition, and $39.4mg/m^2/d$ in anaerobic condition. According to the result of this study, sediment plays an important role in Nakdong Estuary Barrage as an internal load source of phosphorus.

  • Currently, Webtoon Industry is promising as high potential market from it's high growth trend. The best advantage webtoon propose is that webtoon can provide appropriate service to customers with various needs. For this feature, webtoon industry is expanding throughout the world. This situation may give a great chance for authors and webtoon service corporation to export webtoon contents. Also, this situation could be an opportunity for webtoon to become a new "Korean Wave" contents. For successful advance to market, a close analysis for customers of exporting countries. In this research, we collected the data from Naver Webtoon and analyzed the features of webtoons and webtoon subscribers according to countries. With this research, it would be possible to find out specific methods and variables which affect the preference of webtoon subscribers.

A Study on Marketing Strategies based on SNS Usage Characteristics by Performing Genre (공연장르별 SNS 이용특성에 따른 마케팅전략 연구)

  • This study aims to determine how demographic characteristics and SNS use traits of audiences are different depending on preferred performance types such as pop music concert, musical; play, dancing and ballet. SNS use traits are as follows: duration of SNS use, average number of access to SNS account, average time of SNS use, SNS activity type, motivation for SNS use, preferable type of SNS, annual total number of performance watched, and method to gain performance information. Also, the study was conducted to get significant insights in designing marketing strategy using social network services. The results are as follows. First, the result of examining audience's demographic factors depending on preferred performance type showed meaningful differences in sex, age, marital status, form of family, academic level, job and monthly income of the audiences. Second, SNS use traits of the audiences according to preferred performance genres vary in duration of SNS use, average number of access to SNS account, average time of SNS use, SNS activity type, motivation for SNS use, method to gain performance information. These findings showed that demographic characteristics and SNS use traits needed to be classified more specifically based on genres. Additionally, marketing strategy using performance information, traits of contents and customers' patterns through SNS should be specifically developed based on specified target.

Extracting Predominant Melody from Polyphonic Music using Harmonic Structure (하모닉 구조를 이용한 다성 음악의 주요 멜로디 검출)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for extracting predominant melody of polyphonic music based on harmonic structure. Since polyphonic music contains multiple sound sources, the process of melody detection consists of extraction of multiple fundamental frequencies and determination of predominant melody using those fundamental frequencies. Harmonic structure is an important feature parameter of monophonic signal that has spectral peaks at the integer multiples of its fundamental frequency. We extract all fundamental frequency candidates contained in the polyphonic signal by verifying the required condition of harmonic structure. Then, we combine those harmonic peaks corresponding to each extracted fundamental frequency and assign a rank to each after calculating its harmonic average energy. We finally run pitch tracking based on the rank of extracted fundamental frequency and continuity of fundamental frequency, and determine the predominant melody. We measure the performance of proposed method using ADC 2004 DB and 100 Korean pop songs in terms of MIREX 2005 evaluation metrics, and pitch accuracy of 90.42% is obtained.

The Type and Characteristics of the Modern Men's Fashion Images (현대 남성 패션 이미지의 유형 및 특성)

  • Modern male has displayed an increased desire to express their social influence and image, and the male fashion market has had to provide various styles and images to fill these needs. The current domestic menswear market, however, is unable to satisfy the needs of male consumers who have a need for diversity in a rapidly changing society; more segmented fashion images and styles are needed. The purposes of this study are to classify fashion images and to establish character of the types. This study was done by performing a literature review and a survey. This study proposed 10 categories of fashion style images. Men's fashion style is classified into the classic image, sophisticated image, urban casual image, chic modern image, mods modern image, basic casual image, ethnic image, avant-garde image, active & outdoor image, and street-kitsch image. In the case of the classic images, common in formal setting, men's formal wear is the main focus with the classic suit. The sophisticated image is that of a colorful formal wear seasoned with elegance. Urban casual image is contemporary image, and therefore is meant for city life wear. Chic and modern image conveys an urban image by seeking a simple and chic feel. Mods modern image is retro yet dandy, giving off a sense of youthfulness compared to the other classic images. Ethnic image expresses the exotic quality of folklore as the main representatives of the character casual wear. Avant garde image portrays strong character casual wear with oversized silhouettes or exaggerated details. Active & Outdoor image is leisure life wear conveying active, functional images. Street Kitsch image is men's street casual wear with graphic patterns such as pop art and graffiti. This study's significance lies in its presentation of fashion style data, which can be utilized in the design and marketing of fashion targeted to males.
