  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with perceived job satisfaction of TB control nurses in Korea. Methods: This study employed a descriptive survey research design using data for 189 TB control nurses. Variables included in this study were demographic, social, and work-related characteristics (including job stress), and job satisfaction. ANOVA, t-test,and multiple regression analyses were performed using SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. Results: The mean value of perceived job satisfaction was lower in the subjects ($2.9{\pm}0.41$) than in general nurses working in other departments. In multiple regression analysis, factors associated with TB control nurses' job satisfaction were job stress (${\beta}$=-.281, p<.001), marital status (${\beta}$=-.229, p<.001), and the number of TB control nurses employed (${\beta}$=.200, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that job satisfaction was associated more significantly with job-related characteristics than with non-job-related variables in workplace. Along with increased TB control nurse staffing, efforts should be made to reduce negative work-place issues such as job stress and inappropriate pay to improve the subject's job satisfaction.

  • This paper aims to evaluate the effects of Critical work factors on Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction of young Vietnamese employees. The four most essential work aspects were consisting of the Work environment, Employee empowerment, Salary, and Promotion opportunities. To empirically evaluate the proposed research model, the authors assemble data through conducting questionnaire interviews with young employees working in Vietnamese firms. A sample of 216 respondents was constructed using the PLS-SEM program to highlight the testing of thirteen hypotheses. The testing results indicate that four Critical work factors positively impact the job motivation of young employees, especially two factors as Salary and Promotion opportunities. Surprisingly, the hypothesis regarding the positive direct relationship between Promotion opportunities and Job satisfaction is not supported. Meanwhile, the rest influence factors have a significant connection with the Vietnamese worker's job satisfaction. The mediation role of Work motivation was also tested by examining the indirect positive relationship between four Critical work factors and Job satisfaction. This paper is the first study that focuses on young employees; hence, these research findings provide Vietnamese human resource managers some suggestions for reference, which can be considered the dynamic factors on the young Vietnamese employees.

  • This study was planned to investigate the effect of the exposure to hazard factors on work environment satisfaction. Existing researches about job satisfaction have focused on the general working conditions, such as working hours, wage, human relationship, job task and so on. Korean Working Conditions Survey was used for this study because that relevant questions were included. The effect of the exposure to hazard factors on work environment satisfaction may be produced by hierarchical regression analysis because of comparison with existing model for work environment satisfaction. The exposure to hazards factors were statistically significant effect on work environment satisfaction after adjusting other confounding variables, such as gender, age, educational level, job security, work hour, work load, work autonomy, social support, etc. This study has some limitation because that KWCS was cross sectional survey. Some researches about the causal effect and its mechanism may be suggested as future study.

An online survey was conducted on 200 school dietitians from March 1 to 31, 2022. Of the personality type factors, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness were positively correlated with job satisfaction, whereas neuroticism was negatively correlated. Extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness were positively correlated with job performance, whereas neuroticism was negatively correlated. Regression analysis conducted to determine the effects of personality types on job satisfaction revealed conscientiousness predicted satisfaction with items of the job, agreeableness predicted satisfaction with supervisor's supervision, and extraversion predicted satisfaction with colleagues. On the other hand, neuroticism was a negative predictor of satisfaction with the job, supervisor's supervision, colleagues, and work environment items. Analysis of the effects of personality types on job performance established that openness was a positive predictor of satisfaction with roles of the organization and team, and of conscientiousness for the job, innovator, and organizational roles. In contrast, neuroticism negatively predicted satisfaction with job role items. Further studies are required to explore these relationships more closely by incorporating other major factors related to personality characteristics, job satisfaction, and job performance of dietitians working in various fields.

  • Nurses' job satisfaction was influenced by intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. According to motivation theory, job satisfaction is determined by the degree of discrepancy between employees' expectation and rewards to employees that meet their basic needs. Spiritual wellbeing is a combination of religious wellbeing and existential wellbeing. It is not simply religious but one of the essentials among basic human needs. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction for nurses. The subjects consisted of 306 nurses who were employed in Wonju Christian Hospital. A positive relationship between spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction was found. (r=.48, p<.001) Both spiritual wellbeing and job satisfaction were affected by the length of experience and by marital status and religion. The degree of satisfaction which was measured by one overall question and spiritual wellbeing were found to explain 35.63% of the total job satisfaction variance in regression analysis. From above the results, spiritual wellbeing can be considered as one of the important factors to improve job satisfaction for nurses. In order to improve job satisfaction, administrators must pay attention to the assessment of spiritual wellbeing for nurses who are employed in the hospital and develope programs to raise the level of spiritual wellness.
